I wanted to be informed, involved in my decisions, have a natural birth, and limit medical interventions as much as possible. That journey wasn't always easy. There were many moments when I found myself going back and forth with my doctor. Even though I knew I had a voice and the right to make decisions about my own body and baby, there were times when I was made to feel like I didn't really have a choice. That can be incredibly discouraging and overwhelming, especially during pregnancy. Priscilla was the person who reminded me that my voice mattered. She gave me the encouragement, knowledge, and confidence I needed to advocate for myself and stand firm in the choices I had made for my birth. She was so supportive and informative throughout my pregnancy. She taught me exercises and techniques I never knew could help prepare my body for labor and support me during the process. More than anything, she made me feel empowered. She never made me feel judged for the choices I wanted to make--she supported me, educated me, and reminded me that I was capable.
