Horrible company! Left me on the streets! I was supposed to close escrow on a home a week ago and because Suncrest refuses (for no reason) to send me the transfer paperwork I can't close escrow. The agents have a script and will not escalate or help you in anyway. All they say is "I put the request in". I asked to speak to someone else and everyone gives the same answer "I put the request in" ... just shows why type of customer service they have. I'm so disappointed and scared of what kind company I got myself . into. Also looks like they have other Yelp pages that show true reviews with 1 and 2 stars. After my last review I was immediately contacted by Suncrest Solar manager De Jay. He apologized for the way they had dropped the ball on my account and promised he would do whatever it takes to get my solar up and running. De Jay immediately contacted the City and scheduled an inspection. On the day of the inspection De Jay and Austin showed up on time to meet the inspector. When the inspector arrived he examined the project and signed it off immediately. The inspector even told me that Suncrest had done an excellent job. The inspector also seemed impressed with De Jay and Austin's knowledge of their product and building codes. After the inspection De Jay went out and bought a Nest thermostat and installed it in my house. I said that wasn't necessary but he insisted and said it was the least Suncrest could do to make up for what had happened. I told De Jay the electricians and installers were great but the problem I had was with the office and a lack of communication regarding people not showing up when scheduled and not receiving any information when I asked when to expect some things to be completed. De Jay again apologized and said it would not happen again. If it was not for De Jay I would probably still be waiting for someone to schedule an inspection appointment. This guy is personable and very knowledgeable about his product. He had no problem getting this thing done. I had researched several solar companies for two years before I chose Suncrest. De Jay's customer service confirmed that I had made the right choice. Maybe this guy should be running the company. The office personnel should probably receive some customer service training from him. I am now satisfied with the finished product and I will recommend them to the many people that are stopping by my home asking me who installed my solar. Good job. read more

Like many, we were bombarded by solicitations from solar companies. We bought from SunCrest for one reason: Nathan Thompson. Nathan is one of their sales representatives and when he came to our door, we were about to say thanks but no thanks to him just like we did to the dozens before him. But, he talked to us and listened to us--HE DIDN'T SELL US. Throughout the process, Nathan would stop by--not call or Email us--and keep us informed each step of the way and answer all our questions. If I had a need for a salesperson, I would want Nathan. He's personable, honest, fair, and truly listens. If you're thinking about getting solar, talk with Nathan. You'll be glad you did. read more

I own Perk Solar in El Cajon. We have 5 STAR yelp, google, msn, etc. for the past 10 years. The Suncrest Lease states they will remove and reinstall their equipment for $500 when the roof needs replacement. They are not doing it. They are to busy in bankruptcy court. I just got back from bidding a removal and replacement of another Suncrest installation so the roof can be replaced. I am the lowest bidder at $3200 on this project. The client let me know my bid was 20% less than the other two bids so far. She told me on my way out (she meets one more company). Our 1# goal is to do great work at market price. That is our model, very simple. The very nice woman with the bad roof cuts SunCrest a check every month for the power generated. It bothers me they take her money but won't keep their promiss to remove and replace for $500. As a business owner I continually own all of our mistakes; without hesitation. I compete against large companies with many salaried 7 figure CEO's. The big companies rack up ridiculous debt by purchasing equipment and then declare bankruptcy and pay everyone they owe 10 cents on the dollar after going through bankruptcy court. This puts a lot of good equipment supplier out of business. It is a legal way to steal, nothing more. The CEO's of the big solar companies never sell off their personal cars and homes to make things right as they are going down the bankruptcy road. I see the CEO's drawing their bonuses and pay checks without a problem till the last dollar is gone. This is no different then walking out of restaurant without paying for your meal or straight up shoplifting. Who pays for all this? You and I of course. This is how: 1. These large companies can also "commoditize" the federal tax credits so they can be sold on the open market; literally they take tax credits and turn them into hard cash. It's impossible for me to do as a small business. It is another couple billion that will not be paid to federal government. The effect is us little guys that do pay our taxes now pay a bit more. 2. The FDIC insures the banks. Our money pays for the FDIC. The bad debt from the solar guys needs to come from somewhere. I enjoy paying for good people, good materials, and good services. Ask anyone who deals with me. I really do love paying people and helping out whenever I can. I feel lucky and blessed when there is money left at the end of the month to pay myself. I make other people's visions happen. It's a great honor to be chosen to complete someone's dream. The big solar company's huge budget look, million dollar a week advertizing budgets, crazy high CEO salaries, and big names mean nothing when they don't pay what they owe. Shame on them. Yes I would use Suncrest Solar again!! We are up and running now! Our only issue was that Austin our excellent rep left the company and there was a bit of a lag beween Austin and until someone else took our account over. Once that happened they more than made up for that bump. Kevin is excellent and really came on board and made us feel that we still made the right decision. So yes I would still go with Suncrest Solar and if we ever moved we would still call them to use. They are great. I LOVE Suncrest Solar! They are not a buy/lease solar company. They own the solar panels and you pay a discounted rate on your electrical usage. Every representative from the sales person (TJ), to the electrician and the panel installers were professional, clean and courteous. We received a brand new electrical panel at no cost and everything has been smooth and done within the time frame promised. No money out of my pocket and I have 40 panels on my roof as well as the upgraded electric panel. They even sent someone the next day to paint and restucco around the panel. Suncrest did exactly what they say they were going to do. I initially looked into solar with Verango and it was complicated and confusing. Vivint was super disorganized and really frustrating. I had a lot of questions for Chad before I committed because I had felt I'd already been through the circus. But he was great. He took the time, answered my questions, and they've been very clear and communicative all along the process. The install was yesterday. The team was great. Very Impressed with Jake Cigelnik (District Manager) and the Suncrest Solar Team! Jake explained to me the benefits of going solar with his company very clearly. I had been researching solar companies for awhile but I did not like their hard sales tactics and confusing terms. Jake was very patient with me and my wife in explaining the installation procedure. He even drew us a chart of what to expect with a time line. The time line was actually shorter, even with upgrading my electrical panel (no cost to us), they re-stuccoed the reworked area and it was done so well that it's hard to tell the original stucco from repaired area. Hello to the Suncrest Solar company. Our names are Robert and Lori Wilson and we are a VERY DISSATISFIED with the course of events that have transpired over the past two and one half years since we entered into this solar program. Our initial motivation to go solar was the ability to save money on our electric bill which all customers using the Edison electrical power as a main source of energy to cool the temperature in a home would be inclined to think. we leased into the program which was presented to us by their salesman. We were informed that 67 panels were sufficient for the power our home would need to produce. We are home for a majority of the day and due to Lori's hot flashes we thought that going solar would be a cost savings program for us. However, The installation company, Suncrest Solar never had any experienced person in the management of Suncrest Solar explain the potential downside of having possibly being faced with TWO ENERGY CONSUMPTION BILLS which could result when there is the need for that power consumption during peek energy usage periods during the hottest months of the summer. These were the circumstances that we dealt with during the summer months of May, June, July, August and September of 2015. We continued to pay our Sunnova Solar Energy bills monthly. However, the Edison Company bills we were receiving in our mail seemed very cheap as we paid the amounts that were stated in the rectangular box that Edison sends in the mail. At the end of the 2015 calendar year we then received a YEAR END BILLING FROM THE EDISON COMPANY FOR A TOTAL OF $1,500.00 for the consumption of that entire year! Being a new solar customer we were not aware that we had to pay such a high electric bill as well as our solar bill. Due to these circumstances I have since tried to find another job in our economy as this has financially devastated my ability to go forward. Over the course of this 2016 calendar year I have attempted to bargain with the Sunnova Solar Company regarding the POWER PURCHAS AGREEMENT, that we signed back in September of 2014. Their management personnel have not cooperated with us at all. Their only solution they offered has been to buy them out of the lease agreement by paying them the total amount of $76,000.00 which is what it will cost for us to break this power purchase agreement which we signed without knowing how badly we would be financially at this time two and one half years after the fact. My only real recourse from my perspective is to file a small claims action against Sunnova Solar for the false representation we have suffered while I have been forced to almost go broke each month paying the Edison company an agreed upon settlement of $130.00 per month throughout the course of 2016 until my electric bill for 2015 is paid in full! We are now in the process of filing the small claims action at the Moreno Valley Superior court in hopes of finding a judge with a sympathetic ear to this whole nightmare situation. We are having a solar installation with Suncrest Solar. Rudy and Edgar the electricians came out to upgrade our electrical panel yesterday. They are very polite, knowledgeable and explained that the power will be off during the day for the upgrade. They answered all of our questions about the panel being able to handle the solar load and AC unit. They worked great as a team and completed the job quickly. I was only without power for about 2 hours. They cleaned up the area well and took the trash with them. We are expected to have the panels up by Friday. Rudy and Edgar are hard working guys. I purchased 33 panels for my home in April of 2016. Residential solar is somewhat new to South Carolina so I found few who could advise me on the best company. I had a good experience overall and my panels have produced sufficient power. Part of my initial hesitation to committing to Suncrest was my fear of what would happen if we ever need to replace our roof. In order to persuade me to purchase, I was given an addendum to my contract by Suncrest that they would remove and reinstall my panels for $1,499.00. Having been given this in writing, I moved forward with the purchase. After a major hail storm recently, we are needing to have our roof replaced, and of course the panels taken down. When I contacted Suncrest about how to move forward with this process without voiding the panel, inverter, or penetration warranties, I have been told BY MANAGEMENT that they have no one in the company who can advise me. I find that to be incredibly unprofessional. No one is willing to help me after repeated attempts, and even with paperwork to prove their responsibility in this matter they are unresponsive. I have contacted the BBB and worry about any future customer service issues I might come across. I would not recommend Suncrest as a legitimate company to anyone. read more

So we had solar installed last year with Suncrest! We absolutely love it and our go to guy Nathan. He has been fantastic with everything or any issue we had. We were supposed to get an incentive for signing up before a certain date and we never received the incentive and Nathan went above and beyond trying to find out where it was and why it hasn't been sent to us! I have to say Suncrest Solar and Jeese C. took care of everything and got the system I wanted as well. I had been shopping solar companies for a while before deciding on going with Jeese and Suncrest. Here are the things I think you need to know most when shopping for a solar company in my opinion. 1. You need to make sure the system they are going to put on your house is truly big enough where you won't be getting 2 bills a month one from the solar company and another from your local electric company. This is the chief complaint from new customers that have had solar installed on there home. This is the #1 thing that needs to be address first and you need to make sure it's a large enough system. I know it's based on how much electricity you consume over the past months bills. But I will give you an example Solar City gave me a quote that the largest system based on my roof and usage was a 6 Kilowatt and Jeese at Suncrest was able to get an 8 kilowatt system in place. What that means to you as a customer is that extra power I'm generating since I have a bigger system is I'm putting money in my pocket because that extra power I'm not using goes back to Edison and now Edison is paying me $50 a month on average because I'm not using All the power my system is generating and the rest is going back to Edison grid. 2. Price per kilowatt is the next thing you need to compare. They killed it over other solar companies no one came close to there price per kilowat.... 3. The company background history and longevity in the business customer service!!! This was another area Suncrest and Jeese C. did an amazing job at as well. Jeese stayed with me every step of the way he was very transparent with everything he told me. His communication was excellent he answered all my questions and if he didn't know the answer he called me right back after he found out the correct answer. 4. Last thing I would say to look for is warranties if and when there are issues how that process works. What if any you are liable for and how this will affect my house if I sell or refinance my home. A lot of lease system will have to be paid off if you plan on refinancing fyi. Suncrest Solar and Jeese worked around the clock to get my system up in record time so my system would be in place by summer time and I would really reap All the benefits from my solar system. When they installed new electric panel and didn't patch up now winter camr along and I got water leakage in my house that caused several damages and now suncrest solar is not taking any action to take care of my issue. All i get is contact to billing office and they seem to say that due to corporation restructer they can help my any further. Really bad service. Just got my first electricity bill since going solar with this great company. After being screwed by SCE for years I paid them $1.11 for the biggest electricity month of the year! An employee parked their Suncrest Solar vehicle in front of my house for 3 days without moving and prior to that they had parked in front of numerous other people's homes on my street, blocking driveways. None of my neighbors around were having solar work done on their homes. When I called the 800 number listed on the. Vehicle to let them know I would be reporting the vehicle as abandoned to my local PD I received the WORST customer service I have EVER received. They never once apologized for the inconvenience after I explained how tacky this is on their employee's part. He has not been going to work for the past week as today is a Friday and I have been home all week and not seen the vehicle move from this street (it has moved parking places, but it hasn't been gone from my block for more than 2 hours at a time). The gentleman on the phone tried to tell me what to do in this situation when I do not work for their company nor have I hired them to complete any work for me at any time. I told him that was wrong and unprofessional and how he was handling this situation was poor, in response I got, "I am sorry your feel that way." That is a BS response and one way to lose someone who one day may have been interested in solar equipment! What a horrible experience! read more

They do not respond to calls the only number one can speak to is the billing department and that too is outsourced to third party and they cannot help. Local San Jose office shut down and property already leased out since December of last year. I had a gentleman, by the name of Jesse Clougher from Suncrest Solar in Tustin, CA reach out. He a very nice, knowledgeable and funny guy. The thing that impressed me the most was his knowledge on the product and the process. He answered all of my questions, he even answered the questions that were going through my head. So, I decided to go with Suncrest Solar and I am glad... I did. The installation was fast and without ANY hick ups. Jesse (Area Manager) always kept me up to date through the process. Even after the installation, I can call them and they will answer any questions or concerns I may have. I would and have referred Suncrest Solar to my family, friends, and co-workers. Not to mention my electric bill has not been more than $40 a month since we switched, even in January after having all are Christmas Lights up and running....so worth it, its a win win situation, I save money and help the environment and the rate is locked in for 25 yrs!! This company did their installation and grounded to our gas line...which the Gas Company says they should not have done. This was in December and they have yet to fix it! Sure have no problem taking my money for the bill but have been horrible with handling this maintenance issue. I can only imagine the headache should something else go wrong with our solar. I have patiently communicated and waited for responses for over a month now... November 2016 to now January 2017 NOTHING. Have had numerous telephone conversation with "Customer Service" in Oregon... however, they are the "BILLING" department, taking Customer Service type questions. Have spoken multiple times to both Kim and John, (both very pleasant, but hands tied... not able to help me with anything other than... telling me they would email Corporate in Utah!). Shared my concern about the Suncrest Solar System on my roof and production requesting someone contact me as soon as possible. AGAIN...NOTHING to date, and the two (2) Billing Specialist (Supervisor John and Kim) in Oregon, were nothing but apologetic... however, apology doesn't resolve the issue. Even reached back to the Sales Person, Aaron W that sold me on the Suncrest Solar System for his help and suggestions... and learned that he is no longer employed with Suncrest. Have hit a solid cement wall regarding any kind of company response to my concerns. REALLY DISAPPOINTED!!! AND I ALSO RECOMMENDED THE COMPANY AND SOLAR SYSTEM TO OTHERS IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD, WHO BY THE WAY SIGNED UP WITH SUNCREST SOLAR!
