We spent five days there with our RV recently. It was our first time at this particular campground so we did not know what to expect. Needless to say, we were very pleased with everything that the campground had to offer. I can't decide whether our favorite part was the pier where we were able to descend into the Santa Rosa Sound to cool off during the hot afternoons or the delectable ice cream that was served in the ice cream parlor! I also liked that there were plenty of restaurants and shops nearby on the main road. I'd probably come back again if given the choice. I highly recommend anyone wishing to camp in this part of the state of Florida to check out the Navarre Beach Campground.

There are a lot of RV Sites and Cabins here along with a spacious tent camping area. We stayed at site F1 which is on the far side of the campground some complain about the traffic noise from Interstate 10 we did not have any issues it was barely noticeable. Our premium site had a concrete pad which was very level it also had a nice concrete / paver patio complete with a brick fire pit and a clean gas grill with a full bottle of propane. This site is on the end so we only had one friendly neighbor on one side and the sites were separated by a tall hedge so plenty of privacy. The full hook ups lined up perfectly with our Class A Motorhome so I only need the minimum length of water and sewer hoses and less than 10 of my 50 Amp electric cord all the utilities work fine and there was good water pressure. The check-in process was fast and easy, Lincoln was working the counter and he explained everything I needed to know and provided me with a map and directions to our site (no escort needed), there was plenty of room on the paved drive to maneuver our rig in and out of the park. We didn't really use any of the amenities but there seemed to be many if that's your thing. This is an excellent location if you want to travel to the beaches, its about 21 miles to Navarre and the town of Milton is just a few miles from the campground. There is also a Piggly Wiggly grocery store a mile or so away and plenty of fuel options including diesel close by. Whether you just need an over-night stop or planning to spend a few days in the area, this is a great choice and a KOA I'll book again in the future...

If you are camped north of the office building you will hear heavy traffic starting about 6:30 am. This is not the fault of the RV park. It just is and its pretty noisy. If you plan on being there longer than a month expect the worst camping spots with limited to no view. The scenic sites are for the short term guests. I thought it was a strange business plan... but its not mine. The trees afford plenty of shade and be careful pulling through depending on the height of your rig. Cats! There are freaking cats everywhere. They are cared for by the property management. I dont mind the cats but as an individual with a registered ADA service animal this was a bit problematic since the cats were fed right in front of my RV door. Even a working animal has temptations while not in work mode. Bad habits were barely avoided. The cats are friendly. So friendly that they will meow and scratch to come in. Usually about 3:30 am when its chilly outside. So ya... the cats were pretty off putting. The management had no available sites to move us in the nearly empty campground. Weird flex. However; the girls running the place were always friendly. Positive side-the little beach is awesome. Its a great place to let the dog run, splash and also enjoy a great sunset. Would I go back?Probably not. Would I recommend? Depending on what one was looking for, sure. *disclaimer-we left the retreat early due to some business that came. I was offered another spot with a better view. It didnt seem worth the effort to pack everything up, unhook, close up the slides and move 100 yards. But, they did offer.

But I can only speak of our experience because this was our first time here. Hopefully they will continue to improve and we will stay here again someday. The things that led us to book here after a recent tour of the property are the same things that will unfortunately prevent us from booking here again. Let me explain: Pull through sites are great, but the roads are incredibly narrow and most people were parked out into the roadways. The entire right side of the park (the side with trees) looks like people live there full time. We know that several do because we were told this but the guests themselves, that they stay there rent free in exchange for part time help around the park. They have decks and fences and tons of potted plants and lights. The side we were on, for visitors, had no trees and no picnic tables. That makes no sense. Now the fun part that drew us in - the pool is beautiful. My kids enjoyed the waterslides, but people, including adults, wanted to hang out in the pool area at the bottom of the slides and then get annoyed at them for splashing and/or almost hitting them when they came off the slide. There's no staff members to tell you when it's clear to slide and you can't see the bottom from the top. There's no staff to keep people clear of the slide ext tubes. Common sense tells you to not block slide exits, so if you get hit or splashed, it's your own fault. Lazy River was nice, until it wasn't. Rules say no glass bottles in pool area, alcohol is allowed but must be covered, and cannot be in the pool itself - but no one listened. Adults were floating around with their beer bottles in hand. They would stand in corners/curves of the lazy river blocking the flow of the people floating and would be annoyed when floating people bumped into them. Again, there is no staff to regulate these things. I'm a drinker, a party-er, and all that. But there's a time and place for everything and that wasn't it. You have to be respectful of the other people around you that are trying to enjoy the amenities. The snack bar at the pool wasn't open, nor was the Lakeside Grill in the community center building. For $20 more per night, keep driving and go to Splash RV Resort in Milton. They have a much bigger lazy river with a lifeguard controlling the flow, waterslides that even adults can get on with staff at the top and bottom letting you know when to go and keeps the line moving and everyone safe. A family pool, separate adult-only pool, Tiki Bar that serves beer, mixed drinks, a small food court, and more.

Based on the advice of Long Long Honeymoon's Sean & Kristy Michaels, I heeded their advice and decided not to travel too far for our first trip, as they recommended a "shakedown" trip to sort out any issues. However, as this was our second trip, we opted to push a little further than our 60 mile inaugural trip, and travelled 227 miles to Navarre, FL and stayed at the Santa Rosa RV Resort. This 88-site RV resort consists of 4 rows of camping, with row 1 facing the water (Santa Rosa Sound), rows 2 and 3 on the interior loop of the park, and row 4 backing up directly to the highway (Navarre Parkway). A few of the sites had airstreams for rent in case you don't have an RV and want to experience the "lifestyle". There are also a few air conditioned covered wagons that can be rented. This is a very nice RV resort, but it's a little small and the spaces are a little close together. However, we never felt too crowded, but as a newbie, it was a little tight for me to back my travel trailer in to my site. Amenities include a pool, club house, showers, laundry, fitness room, fenced pet area, dog beach, fishing pier, free Wi-Fi, private white sand beach and a playground. The online reservation system was easy to use and quite intuitive. The staff was also friendly and accommodating. The prices are a little high, but you get what you pay for, including a well manicured and landscaped resort. We loved our waterfront site and would likely only choose these sites, or perhaps row 2. Row 4 is a no-go due to potential road noise and row 3 may be almost as noisy. We would definitely recommend this resort and would definitely stay here again.
