I would love to give more stars but I just cant. It is a neat little campground off of very busy Hwy 98. If you are camped north of the office building you will hear heavy traffic starting about 6:30 am. This is not the fault of the RV park. It just is and its pretty noisy. If you plan on being there longer than a month expect the worst camping spots with limited to no view. The scenic sites are for the short term guests. I thought it was a strange business plan... but its not mine. The trees afford plenty of shade and be careful pulling through depending on the height of your rig. Cats! There are freaking cats everywhere. They are cared for by the property management. I dont mind the cats but as an individual with a registered ADA service animal this was a bit problematic since the cats were fed right in front of my RV door. Even a working animal has temptations while not in work mode. Bad habits were barely avoided. The cats are friendly. So friendly that they will meow and scratch to come in. Usually about 3:30 am when its chilly outside. So ya... the cats were pretty off putting. The management had no available sites to move us in the nearly empty campground. Weird flex. However; the girls running the place were always friendly. Positive side-the little beach is awesome. Its a great place to let the dog run, splash and also enjoy a great sunset. Would I go back?Probably not. Would I recommend? Depending on what one was looking for, sure. *disclaimer-we left the retreat early due to some business that came. I was offered another spot with a better view. It didnt seem worth the effort to pack everything up, unhook, close up the slides and move 100 yards. But, they did offer. read more

This was our first time to the area and we are new to RV camping. We were pleasantly surprised when we pulled into our site. Well shaded by lovely old trees, breeze coming off the water and a few steps from the shore. Everything we had hoped for. Destin was 30 minutes away if you wanted shops and tons of crowds. We did not. Navarre beach was a 10 minute drive with free beach parking. We spent a great deal of time on the beach at the campsite swimming and getting some sun. Very relaxing. Facilities were clean a tad run down but it suited us. We were there to enjoy some relaxation and quiet time together. We will be back. Well worth the price to be on the ocean. read more

Do not camp here with your dogs if they are not CAT friendly!! We would have never stayed here if we knew about all the cats!! Our dog has never been around cats. Also, the cats were all over our truck when we got up in the morning and under our camper. This place was nothing I expected. The positive was the shaded camp sites. read more

Beautiful location with a family feel. You have your own beach access, hangout spot with games (corn hole, firepit, ping pong table) and most sites have a small deck with a picnic table. The most beautiful part are all the trees that provide shade and beautiful scenery throughout. The cancellation& refund policies not disclosed at time of booking. I was told I could reschedule but also not told there was a reschedule fee until after the fact. Sites do not have room to park your vehicle and they charge you $50/ day to park in the parking area. I reserved a specific site due to size of equipment and wasn't given that site and the site assigned was too small to fit my equipment in. The site was clearly used as the cats litter box! Cat poop was very where and the smell was horrible! The cats even came into the screen room and pooped while we were asleep! The common area where there's a fire ring and game area also had tons of poop everywhere! It's a really cute park but we will NEVER go back! Read a lot of the reviews here and decided to experience it ourselves. If you are looking for a cookie cutter sodded resort to park your 45' motor-coach then you at the wrong place. But if you want a very unique, very shaded canopy tree, clean, friendly place for your smaller campers then you will love this place! Great views and cozy feels. Love how dog friendly it is. Clean and will see friendly crews working on site everyday to keep this place up. Each site is very different so I can see how some may not like the site they get but others absolutely loved theirs. Its just preference I think. We loved it. And you get a courtesy spotter to help you get situated on site which could likely save you a very awkward couple hours after being frustrated with your wife/spotter... lol... We'll be back for sure!! To get 5 stars Id like to see wifi improved, paddle boards added or omitted from advertising as we left ours home based on the ad, and cats on leash rule, potholes fixed at entrance which is probably a county issue... read more

The RV park is crowded and small. We have RV's very close on all sides. Pet policy welcomes pets and there are a lot of dogs here with campers. There are copious rules about your pet and the threat of fines for various things they or you may do. The owners neglect to tell you that there are a ton of what seem like partially pet, partially feral cats. We were parked near the office and the cats are roaming around that building, climbing through ripped screens to get access to the office back porch and coming in an out of a hole in the foundation that goes under the office building. The cats alone aren't the issue, it's that they are all over your vehicle and accessible areas of the RV and most obnoxious is that they are all over your picnic table. I saw one licking the neighbors table cloth... nice. I am a cat lover but this is an expensive campground to put up with the sheer number of cats. Not worth the money. We paid over $300 for two nights. Otherwise, it's a pretty spot, especially if you can get a water site. read more

Extremely nice park! Our favorite RV park in Navarre....we have been to them all! Every time we come (this is our third trip), there are more improvements made. We love the shade trees, you just need to be careful when extending slide outs. Bathrooms were very clean. I did not check out the shower. The machines for laundry take credit cards but are very finicky, so come with quarters. We will definitely be back! read more

If you are thinking about coming to this campsite...DO IT! You wont regret it. The campsite is so nice, in a great location between Navarre and Destin, and has incredible views! I cannot brag enough about how nice the other campers were and how helpful the staff was. Our air conditioner stopped working and we had three large dogs with us who were getting very hot. The girls in the office turned on the air conditioner in the back office and let us put the pups in there to cool off while we got our air fixed. I cannot say how much that meant to me. Maddie is so sweet and friendly! We chatted one rainy day for about an hour! I highly recommend this site and we have already decided to come back next Spring. 5/5 stars. read more

Reservations made September 16, 2021 for a premium standard after giving them our unit size of 42feet, pd deposit of $637.72. Arrived on November 1,2021 upon arrival paid balance of $637.73 before showing us where to park. With help trying to locate our unit on site. There was no way we could put side out and awning. Lot they put us on there was no way we could step out of the unit without stepping on dirt. Could not even put a rug out. We chose to find another campground and they would not give any of the paid amount of our money back, but instead said they would give us 50 o/o off if we decided to come back in the next 6months. This arrangement does not work for us, because we still have a 42foot unit read more

A retreat is not a resort , so be careful if you think you're staying at n RV resort . This is not a spot if you have a big rig . There are so many trees it's not a bonus for shade it's a hazard for pulling in and out . The driveway to enter is backwards , and full of pot holes . **BE WARNED** We stayed at this place for 5 nights. To start off the place is so tight to try and even get a simple travel trailer into. They had a "spotter" that was assisting me to back my trailer into, she told me to keep backing up... yup hit a tree. Damaged my ladder. First thing out of their mouth was, "it's still your responsibility, we offer a spotter as a courtesy " I was disappointed, as I was simply trusting the spotter to not steer me into a tree. I was wrong. The place smelled horrible. The site next to us actually had a pump out service come out. The bath house was scary. The beach was a small area that backed up to a sea wall with a scary looking house / cabin on site. The price paid was way high for what we received. The associates / owner kept asking me to move my vehicle, even after offering another parking spot close to my campsite, that was taken by someone else. (Little to no parking) Their website tells a much different story than 3rd party review sites. Good Luck! read more

We just stayed here for 2 nights in spot #4. Unfortunately I'm a little underwhelmed. The Good: -front office staff very nice, friendly and welcoming -lots of trees in the camp -nice big deck in our campsite -unleashed dogs allowed on the beach area The Not so Great: -insanely overpriced. $145 PER NIGHT for spot #4. They call it a "double spot" but really only the deck is usable as the area behind the deck is sand. It's the kind of sand that makes you dirty. Yuck. -on the map of the place online, it looks like #4 has a view of the water behind it. It doesn't. The lot behind is unkempt and gross. Not the park owners fault at all, but worth mentioning. Your view will be straight out toward the gravel road and down only. -TONS of nearly constant traffic in and out of the park. Makes sitting outside on the nice deck mentioned earlier not so great. -the guy on the golf cart. He buzzed around the circle nearly constantly all day long. I get it he's maintaining areas but... -$5 per pet charge. For what? Our dogs got fleas on them. Good thing they are on flea treatment. And yes I know, the owners can't control fleas from other dogs but I don't get the charge. Is it so they can go unleashed on the beach? I'm still cleaning up after them so it makes no sense. -the campground in general is noisy. Lots of foot, car and golf cart traffic from morning to night. One final big thing worth mentioning is that there is an army base very close by. Both nights we were here, they were firing 50 caliber machine guns for several hours. Not the park owners fault at all, but should be mentioned when someone books in case they have PTSD. Overall, we probably wouldn't stay again. The pricing is just way off. We honestly feel ripped off. $305 for 2 nights. The sunsets are gorgeous though as you can see and it's also obvious that the new owners care a great deal for this place and that's great. read more

This small, boutique style camp ground is an excellent place to call home while visiting the Emerald Coast! The grounds are immaculate and very nicely landscaped. The sites are situated with a random, retro feel to allow maximum use of the space while maintaining privacy. They are not lined up like a parking lot! Many sites offer breathtaking views of the sound & gulf. There is a community area they call "The Hang Out" that includes a community fire pit, corn hole and many other yard games. Fires are not allowed on site for two reasons, to protect the beautiful oak and magnolia trees located throughout the park and to encourage community among the guests. This campground is very dog friendly. Dogs must be on a leash in the park BUT on the resorts privately owned beach, dogs may run unleashed! It's amazing! The owner and the management team are always available if anything comes up and any issues are quickly resolved. During our stay, another camper ran over a water line. The resort was without water while the situation was resolved in less than 30 minutes. The resort has a very private feel yet it has easy access to many restaurants and activities in the area. We loved this resort and will certainly return. read more

Excellent location, I was in site 46 right off the beach and sand wall. My rig is low enough but larger rigs should use site 44 or 45 since I have shade trees right above my Minnie Winnie. Had a wonderful time here and great seafood restaurants nearby. What would I improve? Maybe an extra dumpster for trash for the holiday travelers. What was amazing? The views, peaceful, no bugs (yes! None and I was prepared to spray everywhere around my rig... I did get a small fly in my rig at the gas station across the street. read more

Tight RV sites with limited to no view. Photos are deceiving. 45 RV barely got in/out. Sites are all ontop of each other. Only view you will have is the backside of someone's camper. Trees are very low. Could not put out awnings and popouts would have taken up the whole spot barely clearing the trees on the sides. Not big rig friendly nor kid friendly- kids can't play in the sand. They could only play in a 5 foot wide sandbar down below a set of stairs that led directly into water which made it too dangerous for my 3,4, 5 year olds. We left because they couldn't accommodate us and wouldn't even refund us without any services rendered and a 10% full campground. Also beware- no fire pits allowed, which would not have been a problem if we had a site that could fit us. Not the first to say some of these things either. read more

This is SCAM!!!!! I was charged $900 for a week stay. They park me by the road and called it a premium spot. Unable to open my awning due to tree. Says full hook up but I had to use electric from another site and there was no sewer on site. Bathrooms are dingy and dirty and smell of mildew. Water is rust colored. Small beach that has limited hours for dogs. Gas station in plain view with shady characters coming through all night long. Stay away!!!!! No refunds!!!!! Not worth $160/night. Jeannie (the owner) told me that the "customer is not always right" and she will not be intimidated by customers after she yelled at me when I told her I didn't appreciate waiting 3 weeks for my refund due to Covid Cancellation and calling 5 times about it... She finally told me to drive to her to get the refund because her modem doesn't work.. No idea if the camping area is nice... But all I have to go by is my interaction with the staff on this.. Personally, if you like to be refunded in a timely manner or if you just want to be treated like a human being.. Maybe stay any where else. read more

The Hideaway Retreat is a great find. Because it's prime real estate along the Santa Maria Sound, the property is small but the owners have done a great job trying to make the most use of the space. Larger RV's and 5th wheels can make it through there but taking your time and possibly having a spotter will help. You might even need to politely ask someone to move their vehicle. Property is clean, well maintained, large dumpsters for trash, laundry room is $2.25 per load and has a card reader!!! Yippee for that! Very dog friendly. There were tons of dogs having fun swimming. The week we were there, the campground was pretty booked but it's quiet. No loud campsites up too late drinking to much (not that that couldn't happen). Mostly families and retired folks. The water is just a short walk for any spot. The best part about this location, is the water is fairly calm, compared to the gulf. It's located in a sound. As an adult I can easily walk 50 ft into the water and be waist high. Great area for kids to safely swim without drop offs and waves knocking them down. I understand there is little to no threat of sharks here. Beach sand is soft and clean. New sea wall and wooden steps are in place. At your campsite, no open flames but you are allowed to use charcoal grills. Lots are gravel with wooden slabs that contain picnic tables There are 2 Air Force bases nearby and a Navy base (home of the Blue Angels) in Pensacola. You will frequently see and hear planes flying over. We got to watch special ops helicopters practices along the sound all day. So cool. Also, of note, you will hear very faint artillery fire from 40 cal live firing almost every day during the week (not so much on weekends). It's not overly loud but sounds like far off fireworks. It's just a different noise that might leave you thinking "what was that? We enjoyed it! There is a Wal-Mart (with diesel) and Winn Dixie close-by. The office does not have any items for purchase (1 soda machine by the laundry room). There are various places to purchase beach gear close-by. Navarre is a great place to visit. It's not quiet as touristy as Pensacola and Destin but if you are interested in those things, it's just a short drive. read more

I was fortunately invited on a trip with friends to Navarre Beach Florida a couple of weeks ago. We stayed at the Hideaway retreat RV Park which is a very cute place has potential to be a huge moneymaker. I am in the customer service industry and know how to talk to customers. The manager of this property obviously has never worked with the public. Telling us that she doesn't have time to answer your questions because she's checking in other guests, when she has a staff to help her. Or having a discrepancy in your reservation and she hasn't had a chance to look at it. I'll get back to you later. Around the community campfire it was apparent that the other guests were not pleased with the way management ran the park also. Staff was off property every night by 5:30pm and returned around 8 AM. No manager overnight. Again, nice location and cute set up, but the lack of customer service will be their downfall. Under different management I'm sure this park will thrive. read more

My husband and I spent 3 nights here and are so happy to have found this hidden GEM!!! The staff is so courteous. The grounds are very well maintained. And the views of the water are spectacular! The campground has their own private beach area with clean white sand facing the sound. All of this and they have kept the trees and more random layout that is nice not asphalt and rv's stacked on each other. Dog friendly beach which is hard to find. Not taking care of the grounds. Showers are extremely dated and the area around the showers is REALLY nasty. No security, can't lock the door or secure your shower stall. Management is just keeping the door open- nothing more. Yeah, they are nice enough people but there is no ambition to make this a better place. It's a diamond in the rough; very rough. Too bad. Sand everywhere. Grass would reduce the dirt problem and add value to the park, etc. read more

This was probably the worst campground that I have been to!! They have a nice piece of property and I get what they are trying to do, but the problem is that they are trying to stuff as many people in there as they can! I checked in at the office and was guided to my spot(19), I was unable to find my hookups so I asked the person that guided me to my spot. They then informed me that they were located on the opposite side of my camper. Also the electric pole that it was located on was also the location for 3 other sites. It looked like an electricians nightmare! All in all the location is ok but the campground is horrible!! I won't ever be staying there again and I am making sure that everyone that I know stays away as well. Also when it came time to dump our tanks before we left the sewer hookup we had was backing up. In some ways this is a nice place, but. They have 2 pages of rules and refs that you have to sign for, yet their power is messed up and inadequate. The water and power hookups are at opposite ends of the site. There is no light on the sign so coming in at night meant going by twice and having to make U turns. Needs some infrastructure work, and for the extremely high price we are paying? No. I'd try elsewhere. Update: power goes off every so often, can't use the microwave, electric water heater, hairdryer without tripping it. And even when we weren't using anything but lights it was intermittent. Not good. WiFi, even right next to the office, is so weak we couldn't get on without sitting in the office. read more
