Long story short, had to to change dates of reservation. Changed it once and then had to cancel completely. On the phone was told I would loose all $626 of my deposit. Was told they could hold the credit for a year. I agreed and made sure to ask how long the the credit was good for. Was told 1 year, so I had till next August 2026, to use them. Went to book my vacation and was informed by Jenny that I was actually a no show and that I have no credit. She got very snooty on the phone saying that she keeps meticulous notes and she has no record of me canceling. But yet does not remember the conversation of me making sure I knew how long I had to use the credits. read more

While there have been so many great improvements and upgrades to the property, it's very frustrating to see the lack of enforcement of the campground's "rules." The management (or lack thereof) enforces nothing . The last several trips here we have seen such chaos. For signs to say, "we care about kids, speed limit 3" it's certainly NOT enforced. People not abiding by the "One way only . ". Quiet hours are a complete JOKE. No enforcement of maximum canopy size on the beach ... I could go on. When is enough, enough???? I suppose it's all about the money. Not about the family friendly, safe environment . We are moving on to a different place. It's just a matter of time that Camp Gulf will be in shambles . read more

The sites are all very nice and have good privacy foliage. The place is clean, very well kept. It's quiet at night. The beach is STUNNING!!! Beautiful beach and the water is spectacular. Yet to get into the beach the distance is sand as you would expect but it is not compact so hard to walk and pull a cart through. Nice location however it takes a lot of work to go to and from the beach. You can drive to the beach to drop off beach equipment but cannot park there. You must go back to your lot and we were in the front then walk back to the beach. Started to rent a golf cart but that was very expensive (rent from outside company not Camping on the Gulf) and of course it was not going to help. I used our Jeep to transport to and from the beach. Front row on the beach has water and electric but no sewer. So tanks have to pumped and disposed of at the dump station. Don't know if that is included or an extra charge. All in all a nice place and great location on the beach. read more

Came here for a 3 night stay. Place is cramped and run down looking. Very expensive. We ended up in lot #503 about 100 ft from Hwy 98. After looking at the website the pictures lie! This place is a dump. We brought our golf cart because Miramar Beach allows golf carts on the street as long as you don't get on Hwy 98 we'll guess what this place is too far from the side streets to be able to drive around and enjoy the area but the park was sure to charge me $5 a day for bringing my cart when all we can do with it is drive around this shithole!! We'll never be back here again. It was just shy of $400 for 3 nights. We'd been better off staying at a hotel than bringing our camper. Our view is of the maintenance garage. DO NOT RENT THE CABINS My family and I have been coming here since i was a kid when we had our camper. We sold it last year but still wanted to come back, so we decided to rent the cabins instead of going to a hotel to reminisce one last time. underneath the bed, they were super dusty and the vents look like they had mold in them. my little brother, who is eight hospitalized after staying in the cabin. My other five family members, including myself, got extremely sick, because we are all allergic to dust. The first night that we arrived at the cabins, we bought a bunch of supplies to clean up the cabins because of how dusty it was. On the second night, I realized that on my bunkbed there was over 50 spider eggs that just hatched near my head. We immediately went to a hotel, but as someone who has arachnophobia, this was probably the vacation sent from hell. read more

Ain't cheap but worth every penny .... During these crazy COVId times we appreciate all the hard work the teams are doing to keep options open for us. We are part/ full timers ..... we work overseas for. 4-9 months a year and when in the US we live in our little 21 foot camper. We made it back from overseas after crazy flights and we are staying away from - everyone as we self distance / quarantine Living in 200 square feet is challenging so we appreciate the option to stay here - stay by ourselves but have fresh air . With federal/ state/ and most city campgrounds closed we needed a place to hang our hat and this is a gorgeous one The team here is amazing. We called ahead to make sure we didn't go into office - a team member took us to our site and we signed paperwork ( they told us to keep the pen and use for the gate code ) Bathrooms are posh and cleaned constantly - this is a really really nice RV park Laundry room spotless and reasonable We are doing our part staying solo , washing hands, sanitizer all the time but thanks to the team here we can do it with a great view To all the yelpers out there - keep trying to support local business and whenever possible - tip, tip and more tip ( I will track down our check in helper and tip him because I forgot ) read more

So we spent 3 weeks at this campground in a fifth wheel. I originally thought when I booked beachfront site that we would be parked right in the sand but realized upon arrival that the 700 sites are actually the second row back from the water. We had corner site 708 which is concrete. You back up to a retaining wall. Sites are very close together and they make you park your vehicle right in front of your camper so our view was of our truck for $1700. I now know that you can save if you stay a month. I was not aware of this. The pool/hot tub/laundry facilities are nice. They def keep an eye on EVERYTHING. They are constantly driving around checking peoples hookups, parking, speed, you name it. Great spot! This place was amazing! Right next to the beach and a perfect place to bring your family. The prices are also pretty decent for what it is. They also had some amazing food trucks come. A personal favorite was of mine was a shave ice food truck. I think it was called Sea and Snow Shave ice. I researched them and found that they are based out of Destin Fl. Honestly best shave ice I've ever had. They also had a coffee food truck that came but they weren't as good and the people that worked there were rude. I absolutely loved this camp and I definitely recommend. read more

Every negative review on here is true. EVERY! SINGLE! ONE! From unanswered phones, no TV service, to the many things they 'don't" tell you, the unkept property, pool issues and general rudeness of most all staff (excluding 2 who were really nice) just to mention a few. Ok so yes every review is worth taking into consideration. There a few things going for this place. Beautiful ocean close by, bathhouses, activity center and pool slide. All the makings to make this a great place. But it seems all they depend on is the beach. The bathhouses seemed clean but stunk to high heaven, the activity center seems closed and un welcome, the pool slide is open only certain hours. As you see there are no responses to the comments on yelp which tells me they don't really care what anyone has to say. Ever heard the term crap flows downstream?...so pretty much if higher ups don't care no one down stream will. The staff are so unfriendly. The first person you see on the golf cart was a guy so militant with no personality. Why would you have him be the "greeter"?! Joann on the phone was nice which is why I booked. Cheyenne seemed new and was pretty nice but she may be on her way to learning bad customer service. They don't really answer the phones too much but did call back. The times they had the slide open the gal up top working the slide was so mean about it being the last run and that it would be closed. At night the guys came in to close down promptly at 9 as if they were taking you out in handcuffs. There were no kid activities at all. They had a little house on the beach as if they had beach chair and umbrella rentals but no one ever opened and they didn't answer the phone nor call back. Get a new vendor then. The food truck was closed on weekends...what?!!! That's when they need to be opened. Their store had no necessity supplies. Couldn't even find a bottle opener. They seem to need new management or an owner who cares anymore. This could be an amazing place but it's just ugh so so. I don't mind campers are close together. If you don't like to be close to people def do camp at campgrounds then. But this place has the guts and foundation to be so much more! Oh and laundry and jacuzzi weren't working! Would we come again? Probably only if we wanted to be on the beach . Otherwise we'd try some of the other ones that seem to be more run like resorts. read more

I was a little nervous it was going down hill after reading some recent reviews. We had been there 2019 and loved it. There are some notes for the owner at the bottom of this to improve upon but overall we had a great time this year too! We stayed by the pool with the slide and it wasn't crazy loud like I expected. All the staff was polite and nice. The daily activities in the center for our 8 year old were great. The beach was beautiful. Check in was a breeze. Food truck was awesome. Glow in the dark slide was a huge hit. The biggest flaw here is allowing the pre-teens run wild after 9pm on their bikes and scooters with loud music. It's really trashy honestly and takes away from how nice camp gulf is. That part was unpleasant. I mentioned it to a staffer and she said well they have lights on their bikes and scooters. It may have been some of the staffers kids too. But the kids were rude, running wild, cutting in front of walkers. Very trashy and not resort like. Wifi was spotty and spaces are tight but that kind of thing just doesn't bother me. We have no idea about cable tv bc we never turned on our tv lol. I am sure the owner doesn't need to make changes because the ocean will keep bringing people back -however - if I was the owner I'd take pride in my establishment so I'm sharing the following in case it helps improve things: **Bathrooms were fairly clean but could be cleaned more often than currently scheduled during the busy season. When cleaning staff did leave, they were cleaned well. **Wheels should be up at 9pm. No golf carts. No scooters. No bikes. (Cars and trucks sure that's fine) ***Staff have light blue shirts driving golf carts but no one at check in told us. They have small white letters saying Camping on the Gulf. There should be dark letters on their backs that say STAFF on the back of them to identify who they are easily to guests. ***NO tents should be allowed on the beach, just simple umbrellas. If you can't take the sun, don't go to the beach. Allowing the beach tents takes up too much space and looks terrible. Umbrellas suffice. *** The communal fire place site needs some maintenance. Overgrown grass. Looks rough. Same with the pond. **The pool said it opened at 9am and didn't open til 10am, not the end of the world. We weren't upset. If they knew anything about the rules of the flag, they would know turning the flag that way is a sign of distress. I would have given another star but the laundry was a joke, only 1 washer, front load, worked out of about 10 washing machines. Two top load washers run but do not agitate at all so I wasted a lot of money on them. They only fill up with water, sit there still for 20 minutes, then drain and spin. Everything else had out of order signage. Only 3 out of 8 dryers worked, pityful. We left 2 days early due to a tropical storm and awful weather/flooding potential. Told them at the office we were leaving and guess what? No refund at all. This campground needs some repairs, poor lighting at night on the pathways. There are fixtures but they simply don't work. This is a very expensive campground and as such everything should be in working order to ensure you get what you pay for. Being close to the beach is not a good enough justification for what you pay to camp here because this is in Mirimar, not Destin. read more

We were so pleasantly surprised with our first experience at Camp Gulf. From check-in to check-out was an overall great experience. The staff was super busy but not too busy to answer questions and because of that we decided to go ahead and book again for next year. We are brand new to the whole camping thing (only about 1 year in) and we were hesitant coming here versus staying in a condo which we have done for many years. We will never go back to a condo now that we have had a taste of this! We are so excited to come back next year. The bath houses (which we only used once) were clean and so private and easily accessible. The campsites were clean and well kept and although the neighbors were very close we still felt we had privacy. The beach was absolutely beautiful and the clearest water we have ever seen. I felt the price was reasonable and the people were all so friendly. Maybe we picked the perfect time to come, but I have to say it was one of the best beach experiences ever! read more

If you want to wake up to a white sandy beach and the sound of ocean, then check into Camp Gulf. They have R.V. spots that pull up to the sand literally. Was able to get a spot on beach with simply calling. If you are late checking in, no problem they have a box to leave your reservation slip in. You will be greeted with really nice folks that work there and guide you to the spot reserved. They were even willing to help you get situated with hook up. The WiFi login was a little long do to many folks assume on it. But keep trying and you eventually will get logged in if needed. Recommend coming here especially if lucky to get a direct beach spot. Looking at the Park, it's a little tight maneuvering but with the staff assistance you'll be fine. My 11 year old and I had a small glamping (2 twin beds and a/c) tent for 3 nights. I loved: proximity to white heavenly beaches, clean bath house (there are more than 1 but we only used one), laundry room clean and tv in it , late check in availability, clean pool with umbrellas and chairs provided, water slide, clean beach. Room for improvement (just friendly recommendations really- it is great)- shuttle service on golf cart to beach would be a great add on pay service, laundry room vending machine with washing pods and dryer sheets for when office is closed, carry ice, second shower on left beach access, water slide open for longer than an hour 3 days a week, not allowing people to stake out their beach sites with exit tents first thing in the morning then not show up until the afternoon (people should have to be there or in water if their stuff is there), more dumpster pickups or larger bins (bags we're making a leaning tower around it). We'll have to get a large glamping tent next year because having to walk all the way to the bath house in the middle of the night and first thing in the morning is not vacation to me. read more

We've been coming here for the past 4 years. I can say that the rate is up there, but the beach access is something you can't beat. Book your site 6-months in advance and you will stay where you've booked. Staff is professional and knowledgeable. Sites are tight, but we've never had any issues. Every year the park gets better, I love how the owners re-invest in the property and continue to improve the accommodations/facilities. read more

Stayed for 5 nights before Labor Day 2020. The woman who checked us in was unhelpful and quite annoyed with the fact that we were asking a lot of questions. The only plus was the beach and water slide. I'm not sure why people go here, it is VERY EXPENSIVE for what you are getting. There are other FANTASTIC options nearby at less than half the price! (Topsail, Grayton Beach, GERONIMO-all AMAZING and immaculate!) read more

We love this park. The location is ideal. One change we would like to see is garbage pick up. The daily rate is very high and yet we have had morning trash pick up provided at many much lower priced parks. Camp Gulf should arrange for an employee to pick up trash bags at each site each morning. At nearly $200 per night, we don't think trash pick up is too much to ask. read more

Pay no attention to the two-page ad in the Good Sam directory. This park does have nice amenities which theoretically would be a wonderful place to stay. However it was not on our encounter. We made a reservation telling them we would probably stay two nights we paid for one night in advance. When I checked in the woman took 45 minutes asking me over and over again my name my address my phone number and sliding my credit card through her machine three times. We were not given the good Sam discount because we didn't choose the more expensive RV slot. Their electrical system blew out our brand-new surge protector as well as caused damage to the electrical system in our 2015 trailer. My husband and I are retirees and I am disabled. We slept quietly the first night and due to a morning rainstorm we didn't go back to the office early in the morning. At 10 o'clock in the morning someone came pounding on our trailer and we were told we had to leave. At that time we were given no explanation as to why. We were appalled and picked up immediately. Multiple golf carts came riding up and down in front of our trailer to be sure of our departure. Eventually one of the managers came by and we asked him why we were being forced to leave. We were quiet, clean and caused no trouble overnight. This manager told us that somebody else reserved our spot this morning. We informed him that we were going to stay probably two nights but we only paid for the first night at that point. We were delayed because of the heavy rain. There were many other open slots available, including the one next to us, why would we have to leave? Finally we were all packed up, my husband put our car into drive, and this manager came back and told us we could stay. We were both humiliated,and embarrassed. We were never kicked out of anywhere in our lives. We did not want to spend one more night and we left in the heavy rain. I would never recommend this park to a water rat. Although this appears to be a beautiful facility management has no knowledge of customer service. I will never, ever, ever go back again. Here's why I'm giving this RV park one star: 1. Every single worker on golf carts were rude 2. We stopped at the pool with the slide and the girl working had no clue if they would be open during the weekend. They also closed at 2pm on Friday. Which is not wise to me. We checked in at 12 and the pool closed at 2pm so our kids didn't get to play. Then check out is 11. 3. The slide area is for 44" kids only. Needless to say, my kids who are all 4 (but not 44") were so sad. We booked this place mainly for the slide at the pool. read more

Brought our 40 foot diesel pusher, towing our Jeep Wrangler. Spaces are a little tight and prepare to get some sand in your RV. Big campground and lots of kids playing all the time. Very family-friendly. Bath houses were really amazingly nice, but had issues with hot water being consistent in the showers. The beach is awesome, but be prepared - if you aren't at your chair, someone might move it if they like your spot (happened to me - not the campground's fault). People who work there are super friendly as are most of the campers. Never tried the pools, but did enjoy the fire pit at night. Really beautiful campground and you have to book WAY in advance, because everyone seems to love this place! read more

It has always in the past experience staying here been wonderful. You can't beat the sites and views. The people currently running it seem to be extremely " play by the rules". We arrived 25 minutes early for check in. Traffic was horrible and we were on empty. Rather than allowing us to park up front for the few minutes or tucking us in somewhere, they told us to leave . The thought of having to turn that camper around in all the traffic or find a gas station big enough to get out of made me anxious. On our way to turn out of the park we stopped to use the bathroom at the bath house. Then a gentleman approached us telling us the front ladies had reported us for not leaving. By this time it's 15 minutes till check in. He was nice enough... gave us a scolding but conceded to take us to our empty spot. This place is always packed so I doubt my review makes a difference. Just want to pass along my information to other campers. Another thing when I said I was about out of gas the front people said sorry, Walmarts 5 miles up the road. Friendly people huh? So don't arrive even 5 minutes early for your check in or be asked to leave property. Getting in and out of the property with the traffic is hard. Also no cable tv and the power voltage was not up to standard. The breakers got kicked multiple times. read more

beware of their monstrous cancellation fee that amounts to 2 days stay. they do not make any exceptions. this is the highest and most unfair cancelation fee that we have ever seen at any campground. we canceled well in advance because we could not travel from michigan to florida at the booked time for the foreseeable future. they are keeping $310 of our deposit to profit off of our misfortune and our site was rebooked with someone else in 24 hours. this is absolutely ridiculous!!!!!! i can understand charging a reasonable $50 or $100 cancelation fee but this business is profiting from other people's misfortunes. this is a shameful business practice and should not be tolerated. don't support businesses that treat their customers this way. read more

During a national emergency in which all Florida beaches are shut down and my state has issues a stay at home order, this campground refused to refund my deposit. This company chose to not put individuals safety first and instead take financial advantage of people during a crisis. My family camped here the week of the 4th of July this year and I wasn't impressed. Teenagers on golf carts driving crazy and drinking alcohol. The smaller kids couldn't play. They really don't have a playground for smaller kids to play on. Our breaker kept throwing and they did come and change the breaker outside. But the day we checked in was AWFUL and that's why I'd never recommend this campground. We arrived at 6:30am and was told we wasn't allowed to be on the property until noon. So around 8:30am after the office opened we went back and the lady at the office was so RUDE. She told my husband that we wasn't allowed to be no where on the premises until we checked in at noon. We camp all the time and have never been done like this. We were pulling a 28ft pull behind camper with 2 kids and a dog and had been driving for over 12hrs. And not to mention we had paid close to $1,500 to camp here for the week. The pool was pack all the time. This is a place to party for all ages!!! Parents at the pool always had cold drinks.
