5/11/2026: We drove over from Pensacola Beach on a rainy day to check this casino out. I was happy…read moreto find the Frankenstein and Wizard of Oz slots, but unfortunately, that's where the excitement ended. There are no table games here, and drink service is strictly automated via a button on the machines. On the positive side, the facility was very clean, and the staff we did encounter were friendly--though we rarely saw them. For dining, they have a food court setup for $20 a person that includes Italian, Asian, and American options with a fountain drink counter. A heads-up if you go on a "Senior Sunday" (ages 50+): the announcer was incredibly loud. Overall, it was nothing spectacular. Out of the three of us, only one friend walked away a winner, and even then, it was pretty minor.

Most recent visit was to celebrate my birthday (2025). This was a girl's weekend with my mom. We shared the double queen with a fridge and nice seating area. A nice surprise when entering were the balloons and card by the staff along with my gifts from my mom. The bed was nice and soft and the bathroom was clean with plenty of towels. Once settled in, we went down to enjoy the food at the Market that has several food stations that is sure to satisfy your tastebuds and while not one to hit the machines heavily, I did take advantage of the free play. I plan to visit agin and maybe check out the movie theater, bowling alley or enjoy some time at the spa.

This review is for The Suites…read more Pros -For the most part, the staff is accommodating, I wouldn't say overly friendly. -The beach is clean for the most part, fairly small and full of vendors during the day. There's a nice swing photo op on the beach and beach chairs are typically readily available -The view from our balcony was good. The room fridge was stocked with two red stripes, two modelos, two pear juices, two club sodas, one sprite, and three cokes. Water is provided through a filtered system in the hallway and they provide a refillable canteen to use. There's also a bottle of Jamaican Brandy in your room. -The game room - my son loved the foosball table and pool tables -The Michael Jackson tribute show was good and the silent dance party was excellent. The Jamaican Heritage show was good as well. All activities at Waves. -Red pea soup at the Jamaica restaurant was the best food on the entire resort Cons -The pool needs more than one treatment per day. It was really nasty throughout the day with puddles of grime -Breakfast options- get there early. Staff doesn't care about refilling things that run out -The smell of the resort is bad - mildew mixed with musk and the design is very old and closed in -The grounds---the lack of fountains (or turning them on) and pretty, green lush is telling. -Ordering a burger from room service- the burger always arrived medium rare no matter how I asked for it to be prepared. -The lazy river isn't really a lazy river---you can walk the entire thing. There isn't really a current -My husband is a pescatarian that doesn't eat dairy. Food was very hard for him to find at this resort -Limited dining options post breakfast and pre-dinner (mostly jerk chix, hamburger and hotdogs or caesar salad) -Limited dining options for dinner due to food quality and taste. For example, we walked over to Waves to try something different. We made a reservation for the Hibachi restaurant. The hibachi was absolutely disgusting. All the food tasted like green seasoning. We tried the infamous Jamaican restaurant---lots of people were waiting. My husband was dying to try the escovitch snapper. I wanted to try it to. Unfortunately, the two nights we tried the restaurant, I could not order the fish. They limited the orders per table and ran out of the fish after 3-4 orders. The chef was nice and offered me oxtails, but they were so tough. -The first few days were tough...there were very rowdy crews at the pool bar. They were dressed half naked and smoking at the bar. DIdn't make it family friendly which sucked because we were traveling with my son. The pool area is not well kept throughout the day. No one really comes through to clean up the water, trash, old towels, etc. Someone comes through about once per day at the end of the day. You have to try hard to clean off an area to sit by the pool. -Concierge was nice until we said no to the timeshare meeting. I thought it would be a true concierge that would be a POC and assistant. Nope. They only care about the timeshare booking. -marijuana sellers and smokers aren't well controlled. If that's your thing, fine. Why does my family have to be subjected to it? -The circus act in the theatre at the Suites---you couldn't even sit through it because the theatre was scorching hot. I wish we would've chosen Hyatt Ziva.

We stayed at this resort in July for a wedding, and our experience was horrible. We arrived at the…read morewedding party, and from the moment we checked in, there was no overview of the amenities. We were told to find everything on the app. They also tried to get us to attend a "breakfast" at their higher-end section of the resort, claiming it wasn't a timeshare meeting but merely a chance to show us around. However, when we declined the friendly attitude of the "guest service" rep changed. Throughout the week, we noticed that the staff was not friendly; often, they wouldn't make eye contact or even speak to us. Often it would be something as simple as us asking politely for a coffee cup for breakfast and they would just walk away, grab a mug return with it sit it down, and then walk away with no words spoken. The air conditioning in the hotel broke down for a day and a half, and they offered no solutions, displaying an attitude of indifference. We frequently missed housekeeping service, and on the day before we left, we spotted the housekeeper in our room after 5 PM. When we offered to leave and come back later, she tracked us down in the hallway and insinuated she was off the following day. She asked if we liked how she had been cleaning our room, which came across as her asking for a tip. My husband ended up tipping her, and then she walked away. Our balcony was covered in bird poop so we were unable to sit out there and enjoy the view. On our floor, there was a leak in the ceiling, and their solution was simply to place a bucket underneath it. Consequently, for the whole week, there was a bucket in the middle of the hallway. Moreover, we often saw security personnel hiding on our floor. They frequently positioned themselves on window sills, watching TV since our floor wasn't busy and was closer to the end. The hotel itself needs repairs and a thorough cleaning. It is advertised as a 5-star hotel, and I have no idea how that is even possible. Everything seemed old and outdated, especially the rooms and bathrooms, and the only set of elevators had holes and cracks throughout. The food was just okay, with only buffet service available in the morning. Room service ends at 10 PM, and breakfast is not offered through room service. The pool area is nice, but guests receive only one towel per person via a card. If you lose the card or if the towel gets taken, there is a $25 fee. The pool bar was average, but they often served certain people ahead of others. My husband would wait 10-15 minutes for a drink while watching others get served immediately. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, and I definitely won't return. The old, outdated building and rude staff made our stay disappointing, and the fact that we couldn't wait to leave speaks volumes.
