This is the third purchase of a solid patio roof cover I have made from Sunburst Patios in the last six years. Each time we moved (3)) we required different configurations to cover the rear patio areas of our homes. During the Covid epidemic it was a difficult time obtaining the materials. (Our second cover). Each service request was met with the professionalism I expect from all contractors. We took advantage of the special "Home Show" pricing held in Prescott Valley Finley Center. We received personal attention from the owner Dave Griego and our design was spec. checked by Stephanie. The project turned out perfectly as we designed it. The installer "Chad" came out on a Saturday when the business was closed, and he performed excellently. He returned the next day for minor adjustments as promised. Hiring Sunburst was the worst big money purchasing decision I've ever made. Asking simple questions like "When will my installation start?" was like opening the lid to the Ark of the Covenant with the phantoms spinning around the room yelling WOOOOOOOH COVID!, WOOOOOOOH SUPPLY CHAIN!! WOOOOOOH, WE'RE SO CLOSE!, ad infinitum, ad nauseam. And despite assurances to the contrary, the quality of the installation was dreadful. When we ordered a deck cover of the Sunburst Alumawood, we knew we would have about a 6-9 month wait for install. Due to material shortages with the manufacturer we actually waited about 15 months. Sunburst kept in touch with us throughout the process, and even offered an alternate material and manufacturer. We decided to just stay with the original contract, and we couldn't be happier. Certainly the delays were not the fault of Sunburst, but the wait was worth it. The product is beautiful and the install is professionally done. We are happy with the quality of work and product provided. Sunburst really came thru, and we feel they are a great value even in spite of the delays. Got a bid for a pergola they designed and could not get permits for they have had my $7500 deposit for 6 weeks and now I've been fighting to get my deposit back and still waiting on sunburst patio's to return my $7500. I would not recommend them. They never sent a cancelation form for over six weeks. Just keep saying it will be emailed but never has. We have asked for refund. Contract signed and 50% paid on July 2021. Material finally arrived in February 2022. Jody at Sunburst said delay was due to Covid. I have since talked to neighbors with similar projects, using other companies, that took half the time. Men came to dig footings and used JACK HAMMERS to remove existing patio pavers.......broke many! Holes were not dug correctly, which they obviously anticipated because they sent two more guys the next day to check and finish digging footings to meet ordinance. I gave them a paved as a sample so they could locate replacements for the ones they broke. Installer, private company hired by Sunburst, installed patio cover was designed by Sunburst. The support posts were half in patio and half out!! And the lattice on top runs perpendicular to house, not parallel as requested. After talking to Jody, they agreed to add a row of pavers so that the entire post would be in the patio. Their landscape guy could not find matching pavers; however, as I was fed up with the entire experience, I agreed to the slightly different color pavers. He completed his work with about the same quality of work as Sunburst Patios. Their salesman Mike, who happens to be Jody's father and retired car salesman, obviously did not do his job correctly because had the plan drawn by Sunburst been correct the posts would have been totally in the patio area in the first place. Don't believe when Sunburst tells you their product is custom design to fit your needs! read more

After a 13 month wait because of COVID and material shortages our new patio cover / screen room has been completed. Matt and Chris did a great job and we are very pleased with the finished job. After posting a negative review about Sunburst Patios, I receive a an email from the owner that he is contacting his lawyer and threatening me with a cease and desists letter. Just like he did with a previous person's negative review. Setting the record straight, I did make an error in my previous review- it was 8-10 months not weeks. Sorry for the false information it was not intentional. I wish I had read the Yelp reviews also, because I wouldn't have contracted with Sunburst Patios. The BBB advised me not to be worried about his lawyer sending me a cease and desist letter. I would like to remind others who read this review that everyone has the right to voice positive and negative reviews. In January 2023 Sunburst accidentally sent out everyones email addresses to all their customers. Because some of us customers used the emails to contact each other, I am now being accused of breaking the law by using a proprietary list of emails that Sunburst Patios provided to everyone. It should be noted that I didn't give Sunburst Patios permission to share my email address with anyone. What a hypocrisy. Please use your own judgment and read all reviews filed with BB before signing a contract with Sunburst Patios. You have no recourse after 3 days of signing the contract and don't expect your deposit to be returned- no matter how long it takes to complete the job. I just hope the patio cover that I ordered is worth the wait and doesn't leak. read more

I have been dealing with Sunburst for weeks now which has been one of the most frustrating things I have dealt with in my entire life. Communication with Sunburst is horrible! Dave came out to look at the project and told me he needed to bring another contractor over to bid out the work they were not licensed to do. Days later I called to ask about the second visit and was told they would remind Dave to do that. 10 days after that second visit, after not receiving a bid, I visited the office only to be told that had forgotten about my project. Later, and after telling me the second contractor had backed out, Jody from the office repeatedly insisted that I had misunderstood my conversation with the guy who came out to look at my project, despite the fact that she was not present for the conversation. The more I talked with her the more frustrating she became. They seem very nice but be very careful dealing with these people! I wouldn't trust them for almost anything! The alumawood products they sell and install are very nice and seem of great quality. The work that is completed on site is done well too. Their office admin or general business practices are lacking. I understand that the pandemic and manufacturing was difficult but this team goes above and beyond at not holding themselves accountable. Every hurdle or setback was somebody else's fault. It took 6 months to get my parts received at Sunburst and then another month to start the project. When I asked for a follow up phone call/update in a week prior to starting the project because they needed to find parts, I was asked, "what if there is no update?" How does a business stay in business by anticipating no update in a week when they simply need to locate the missing parts or see if the missing parts can be ordered. Never have I been made to feel like the customer is never right. The real heartburn or disappointment with the management team was that on the day they were scheduled to complete the project I got a text from the project lead and an email from management asking about final payment. No mailed invoice, no chance to see the completed project to inspect quality, no offer of a discount on balance due for waiting so long. In addition to that, personnel conveyed to me how "accommodating" they were for staying at work a 1/2 hour late one day to sign an almost $10,000 contract. Yes, a business owner stayed open a little late to sign a contract that benefits the reputation, customers, and image of a family owned business in Prescott Valley. She went on to quote the contract we signed...6 months ago. Throughout this ordeal I was repeatedly told to be patient or I was told "you need to understand...". I love the product and I love seeing local businesses succeed and I hope this review can be seen as an opportunity to improve and not just a post picking on somebody. From my experiences they seem like good people and it would be great to see them improve in a few areas. read more

Update. The day after writing the previous review, we were contacted by Sunburst Patios and a gentleman was sent out to fix the leaking. He simply used caulking on the top between where the patio roof is connected to the house roof. After the first rain there was a bit of leaking, but not too bad. Then it got worse with each rain. I emailed Sunburst and was told that the patio roof was not leak proof, it was for shade only. I responded to this email explaining the patio roof itself is not leaking but, the leaking is happening where it is attached to our house roof. We had NO leaking in this area before because we had rain gutters there. Sunburst removed our gutters when they installed the patio roof which has gutters built in to it, and they attached down spouts all the way to the ground (the patio roof is installed on a second floor deck). I explained we had no complaints about the actual patio roof, it's lovely, that our complaint is the fact that it should've been installed so that we wouldn't have a down pour between the house and patio roof. Wouldn't one assume that if the patio roof has gutters built in and down spouts we're added, that this was to prevent the leaking we're experiencing? The way it was installed is really the issue. Were we supposed to hire a separate contractor to finish the installation of their product? We got no response to this email, so after several more weeks of waiting, my 75 year old husband climbed up there and added more caulking. This helped for a while, but it is still leaking. I do not want my husband climbing up there again, but not sure we can afford to hire a contractor to finish this job correctly. Suggestions anyone? read more
