I had the opportunity to view beautiful Puget Sound from my friends window using his 25/40x100…read morebinocular! My eyes were opened! I was amazed at what I saw! He was good enough to loan it to me to use in my home. The next time I saw him I asked him if the binocular was for sale and he apologized, 'No.', but said that the next time he and his wife went to their home in Ketchum, Idaho, he would see if he could find one for sale there. The next thing I knew I had a phone call from Laurrine McGowan from Armstrong Root Opticians. She explained that she had a 25/40x100 binocular on order and as soon as it was received she could forward it to me! I was ecstatic! It arrived about a week and a half later at my home in Everett, WA. It was professionally packed and in perfect condition. Ms. McGowan called me and sent email to stay in touch every step of the way. She conducted herself in a professional manner, was friendly and courteous and very helpful. The binocular is state of the art. It included set up directions and I also got help from my neighbor friend. Once you use an instrument like this, you just are not the same. I can see so much more and so clearly. I see eagles regularly and have been watching the migrating birds. It is a wonder to behold! We love coming here each year & will return again next winter to see what is new. My husband loves the candles, some of which are made in house. I love the jewelry but wish some of the necklaces came in larger sizes for my neck. Gorgeous paddles too, if only we had a use for those.

Huck and Paddle completely breaks the mold. The whole shop is curated (and I use that word intentionally) from a very unique perspective. It is filled with interesting objects, large and small. Inevitably, one of these objects will strike your fancy and demand to be taken with you when you leave town. The owner is delightful, and is committed to her aesthetic. We got to discussing some items I thought would make sense in her store, and she immediately got online to see what I was talking about. Oh, and she has something for everyone. Me, Mama Q and Not-So-Little Q all found things we wanted to bring back to SF. I hope Huck and Paddle survives, I'd like to visit her shop again next year!
