This review is not for car window tinting but about residential window tinting. I called this company in hopes to get a quote to tint the windows in my house. The quote I got was over the phone. We charge X amount per square foot, and someone can just drop off samples. This is totally not the kind of service I would expect on the type of job I wanted done. If fact, when calling another company for a quote, someone actually made an appointment, brought info and samples, and sent a written estimate. If looking at this company for residential work, I would be very cautious. read more

got my windshield done here on a whim, so to speak, called and asked if they had time that afternoon and was able to pull up within a few hours. clean place, place to sit and do work while the tint is applied, so far, haven't seen any issues with bubbling or peeling or anything. it's a lifetime warranty, so i feel like i have nothing to worry about. will come back for future work! read more

I had a wonderful time getting my car tinted here! They fitted me in on a Saturday and I got the most expensive ceramic tint on my Honda Civic. They finished it in about 1-2 hours as expected, were very friendly and informed, and even had the owner's dog there (very friendly btw). They provided free soft drinks and water to customers waiting and made sure people were comfortable (free wifi too). Once the car was done, it looked amazing and had very fair pricing. It's been on there a few weeks now and I feel zero regrets about buying it. My car is much cooler (temperature) with this tint than before. I made an appointment, showed up on time, and (with their help) picked out the tinting for my car. I left and came back when they said it would be done (90 minutes later) and it was done. The guy gave me a quick run down of how to care for it, not to be concerned about bubbles unless they persist for more than a week, and the assurance that if anything went wrong they would fix it. I drove from San Antonio because I wanted it done right, and at a good price. They delivered. I'm thrilled with the job that they did and wouldn't hesitate to return. Sun Tint was recommended to us by a friend who speaks highly of them, and now we know why. The staff was very friendly and they did a great job on the tint. Our friend suggested the Solargard ultra performance tint, which is also what the salesgirl recommended. That was the way to go! We have a newborn, and because of this Texas heat, we wanted to make it a bit more comfortable for him to ride in the car. The tint has definitely made a huge difference. For $500 and about an hour and a half wait, we had all the windows done plus the front windshield (in a clear ceramic tint). We highly recommend that! read more

Bought a used car for my son, and the window tint in the rear window was in rough shape. Went through the car's paperwork and saw it had been done at Sun Tint in 2008. Took it by to see what they'd charge for removing it and they said the work was under warranty (after 5 years and done for a different owner!) and they would fix it for free! They did, did a great job, and I am just floored. They honored a warantee they could easily-- and legitimately-- have backed out of, and did it without complaint. SunTint is top-notch for window tinting and customer service! I got my new 2015 Audi A5 tinted by these guys and they did a fabulous job. However, I noticed it was a little light for my taste and really wanted to go darker (my fault not theirs). I asked if they could re-tint the back windows darker. They said they would redo it for X dollars, which was much cheaper than the price for a new tint job! They knew I wanted to go darker and wouldn't let me pay full price for a whole new tint job. And they redid the tint in a matter of hours. Very classy customer service! read more

Two techs worked on the car at the same time. Bought the middle grade ceramic film. Superb workmanship - I am always amazed how they fit the curved rear window. Suntint had done my fiancee's windows about 4 years ago and he has not had any issue with them so I took my car there. I called ahead and they told me a good time to come in so they could work on the car while I waited. It took about 1.5 hrs and the staff was very helpful and friendly. I've taken my five most recent cars to Sun Tint and will continue to do so. Their work is great, and I've never had any trouble with any of my installations. The waiting area has coffee, soda, water, cable tv, free wifi, and comfortable sofas... and Russell (owner) and all employees are very friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. Also, they won't try to talk you into a higher grade of tint than what you want, need, or can afford. The wait times are always reasonable, the prices are totally fair, and, as mentioned, the work is awesome. I cannot recommend Sun Tint enough! I went to Sun Tint recently to get old and worn-out adhesive protectant removed from the rear tire-guard areas of my vehicle. I arrived at 7:45am (15 minutes before they officially opened for business that day) but the gentleman at the front desk greeted me warmly and took me in right away. In 20 minutes, the job was done. I have to say, I am very impressed with the work they did. Their shop is clean, the waiting room has wi-fi, and the price was very reasonable. I have two complaints, though. First, I dropped my car off shortly before 9AM on a Monday and I never received a call to let me know my car was finished. I ended up calling them at 4:30 and was relieved to find out I'd have a car to drive home that night. Second, when I arrived at 5 to pick up my car, the girl at the counter was on the phone. She continued to talk to the customer on the phone as she walked towards the back. One of the installers popped his head in and asked if I had been helped and I told him no. So, he went and let the girl know I was waiting. When she finally came back out, she talked on the phone another minute or so and then hung up. The phone rang again and she took the call without having addressed me at all. This went on for another two calls (all customer calls, BTW) which after all of that, she finally took my card and ran it. I just had a hard time understanding how she couldn't run a credit card while on the phone. It took me 15 minutes just to pay for the work. So, other than those two annoyances I was very satisfied with Sun Tint and I would definitely go there again. read more

This is the only place to go for all your tinting needs. I called around 1:30 this afternoon and asked if they had an opening for tinting my F150's front two windows. The friendly lady on the phone said to come on in. When I arrived, I was shown the legal tinting that they do on front windows. It was a little lighter than I had hoped, but I understand the need for a business to stay above the law. Everything I had read about this company indicated that they do things right, and I could not complain. So, I handed over the keys, and by the time I turned around they had my truck in the shop already fitting the tint. I walked around to the open shop doors and asked if I had time to walk up the street for a quick lunch. The technician strongly recommended against it. I couldn't believe how fast this team was. I walked back into the shop, decided to buy another "Keep Austin Weird" t-shirt with their logo on it. By the time the lady behind the counter had found my size, the truck was done! All in all, about 20 minutes. I didn't have time to try out their free wi-fi! The tint looks great, even tho it is still in it's drying stage. I can't roll the windows down for another 3 days, but I wouldn't want to mess up their great work. I'm a very happy customer, and will recommend this company to anyone who wants to get their windows tinted. Oh, and the price was extremely reasonable too! read more

After moving to Austin, from Cali-needed auto windows tinted. I called, & visited several window tinters. I also read reviewson these business'. There was a not so great review on Sun Tint, as all business get them. I brought the review up to the owner of Sun Tint, & asked-"can I get a car inspection, before the work would begin? The owner was more than accomodating, in fact washed my car-so we could see any problems--GREAT CUSTOMER RELATIONS!!! Also went out of his way, to pet proof my back windows-now I do not need to worry about my dog, Henry,scratching the tint. This was done inclusive of tint cost. I recently took our Accord in to the folks at Sun Tint to have the windows tinted. This marks the 4th vehicle we have taken in to The Haertl's and their staff of dedicated employees. When I picked up the car I noticed that there was some haze on the front windows. I gave it several days and it didn't fade with drying as expected. I then went back and explained what was going on. Russell and Denise personally helped me out with my concerns and replaced the tint on the front two windows. It turns out that the cause of all the cloudiness was a defective roll of tint film. They made good on the promise of excellence and I would have no reservations when I recommend them to anyone. read more
