Sun Solar scammers got panels with them lied about the almlost 15000 in fed money that they said I would receive all yo have to do is file tried to file my tax lady told me you would have to owe money to get this money but that not guaranteed that I still will qualify to get I never owe anything to the irs got the 9 thousand from state was told I could use if I need to if I didn't put it towards my ballot my payment would go up from 120 to 213 I understand that but they never stated when I still paying 110 that they would start a whole new contract and what I paid into it my payment would not reflect on the new contract so I been paying for over a year and half for nothing my panels were not e installed so they finally put them in had water come threw my whole entire basement flooded the have a medal pipe sticking out of the ground the battery of my house wall has holes they came out put some dirt down that was it they ordered more than enough panels I called them they said they would pick them up I ask for a credit on my account that didn't happen this company is the worst no way I would have got something if I couldn't get the close to 25 thousand In rebates on a 46000 dollar solar panels when I would be stuck where 35 thousand dollars to pay just to get a little bit of difference on my bill they lied after lie I have finally with the bbb they still not trying to resolve things I asked to add the amount I paid you before and after they were installed come back and fix my house credit my for the solar panels in my name credit me the 15000 thousand you know I will never get and stop lying or leave anything out to make a sale I don't recommend them to anyone read more

This company needs to honor what their sales rep says to costumers.. A few highlights of my situation.. Had Sun Solar to our house to discuss solar.. was told, if for any reason we where not satisfied with the system, a simple phone call, and they would come pickup the system (it's a lease).. 1) Company does not honor what the salesman said (we have this in a text message). 2)Told us completely different about our electric bill that would be coming.. said that all we should get due to us leasing 106% of our past usage, a meter charge would all we would get.. NOPE.. TOTALLY WRONG!! 3) Suddenly, now, our system does not work.. no, we are not late on our monthly payment, paid it 6 days ago via automatic draft. read more

I highly recommend this company! My solar system was purchased in July 2022 and installed and running by September 2022. I have gotten everything our salesman promised. This system totally eliminates my electric bill from April to September, it greatly reduces the bill during the winter months. Customer Service has been helpful and polite. They have responded to my calls and taken care of all my concerns. During the initial install, all was well. During the 2nd system install we had 2 issues. 1. The consumption meter did not work, they sent a crew to my home 3 times to fix the issue. We had to wait on a board to run the meter but they assured me that my system was producing. 2. They accidently damaged my gutter. They asked me to choose a gutter company to make the repair and they paid the bill without any issue. We changed to a heat pump with electric backup. This change caused us to use more electricity than my original system could provide during the winter. Sun Solar came out and installed a second smaller system that has covered my needs during the winter. Even with the cost of the second system, the cost of the solar system is less than the eclectic bill would have been. Everytime my electric company raised rates, my solar bill stays the same and saves me money! When reading reviews keep in mind, most reviews are negative because satisfied customers do not think about leaving a review. yes I just got my solar panels and am up and running . the sales rep was great Coddie was his name very up front with every thing . I would like to see a change with the systems thought. there should be some thing installed to when the grid is down during day time , the panels will still power the home . it's the only down fall . and I'm not talking about batteries. I'm talking about if the electric grid goes down switch the panels to the home it's self . other then that the system is great. read more

This company sucks! I thought they were to be able to see if something was faulty with my solar. I went since July w/o solar. They finally yesterday fixed it. Been freezing so as to not pay the 100$ electric bills I was paying not knowing my solar wasn't working. I'm so extremely frustrated. The installers installed panels and they registered the system under the wrong email entered the wrong information so I had zero way to even look in to see how the panels were performing. When I logged in finally, there was zero production. I realized the installers didn't even bother to flip the inverter on so it could be usable so 2 months down time never reimbursed for. Did I mention they promised to remove trees before installing panels? They did not. The salesperson barely responds to my customer concerns. I'm just a sales number. Really sad customer service. Sun Solar replaced my original inverter back in 2021 since my initial installer had gone out of business. They had me sign an administrative transfer of rights to monitor my system and had a tech come out and do the work. He was great, and no issues, until that inverter quit working in less than two years. This was a warranty claim, and instead of taking care of it, they told me I wasn't a customer and they're not taking on any new customers. So you have administrative rights to monitor my system and I've paid you $380 in labor to fix my system in the past, but I'm not your customer? What a bunch of bs that is. Why monitor a system you have no intention of helping fix if there's an issue? I asked them to send me a form to revoke those monitoring rights. Find another company that will stand behind their work. Instead of scheduling a tech for half a day they left me stranded with no working inverter and no company to fix it. I'll be leaving this review every place I can find to leave it. Hopefully it keeps others from contacting this company. read more

Go to any other solar company. Sun Solar is the worst. I was lied to from day one. I was paying for 10 panels that I didn't have on my roof for 2 years before they were ever installed. I had been paying for them from March of 2017 and they didn't get installed until April of 2019. Now that I'm getting my roof replaced, I'm hearing all the stuff that they don't cover even though I was told they do by their sales rep. I'm very happy with this product. My electric bill is 13 dollars a month which is just the meter fee from the city. It is worth the investment because I never notice power outages and I make money by selling electricity back to the power company. Look out for your family by taking the plunge. Try this company did not try to upsell me or surprise me at the end with extra charges. read more

Seriously look somewhere else. The short version is they cost me almost $20k above the system cost because of poor communication, craftsmanship, and customer service. The long version. I signed for this system in October 2021 and it was just commissioned less than a month ago. I had the walls up and roof on in December and let them know. I called, a survey crew came out, and I waited a little over a month. Called back, they sent out another survey crew in February. I waited another month, called in again, and they sent out yet another survey crew in March. Finally, in I believe May I was able to get an install crew to my property. I was told by my project manager, Fatu (not sure on spelling as I've only heard it) that I needed to be on site for install. Because of the many reschedules and no one telling me they were rescheduling I missed several weeks worth of work. Every time I had to call in, my project manager had an attitude and was unpleasant to work with. The original project plan was for Sun Solar to install their disconnect on my new construction house and run their lines to the meter through a 2 inch conduit which they requested at time of signing. The crew showed up and decided that was too much work and wanted to put their disconnect by the meter, and that I needed to run a service line to my house before they'd continue. They at least agreed to help me run it. I rushed out to find the wire so the project could still be completed. Being a 300 foot run needing a minimum of 350 mcm aluminum (250 copper was not available that day). I spent $4500 in total for the wire. I came back home around 230 pm expecting to run the wire and the crew had already left. The next day they did not show up. I had the call the following day to find out they decided to reschedule without telling me. When I couldn't cancel a contract for the next week to be home project manager got very irritated and told me I needed to work with their schedule. Rescheduled for a few weeks later. Another trip out and another week of work lost, they told me the size wire (requested by them) would not fit in the 2" conduit. I would need to provide and trench 3" schedule 40 PVC first (about another $2500 my cost). After a heated phone call with a new sales guy (original is no longer with the company) they offered to supply the pvc. Their next trip out they put up the brackets for the solar panels. I had left the siding off the house until this point because I was under the impression from the previous crew it would be easier for the install. After they put up the brackets, they leaned all the solar panels up against the house and told me they would reschedule again after siding was done. Another full week of work gone because they gave me the opposite instruction from their first crew. They also left 3 tesla power walls that i paid for in the open and unsecured. I tried scheduling someone to help me with the siding, but every turned down the project until the solar panels were moved because they'd have to make multiple trips if they weren't. I asked my project manager to have the solar panels installed or moved, and was told they wouldn't return until siding was done. I was finally able to convince them to return after I had the siding up the the utility room where inverters could be installed. A different crew came out at this point, which seemed more competent than the previous. This crew put up the solar panels and the power walls in about half a day. They also informed me that it would be better to put their disconnect on the house, and that they would provide the service line to that point. This greatly upset me. This was the original agreement I made, was told would not work, and had me waste $4500 on cut wire that could not be returned (being a specialty wire, it's not commonly used and I could not sell it to any electricians either). The crew returned and trenched the line, installed all their equipment and I left. I had assumed they were finished, because once again no one communicated otherwise. They left an open trench (it was a bit muddy so I understood) and I assumed they would return in a few days or a week to fill it. After almost a month I called asking when it would be filled. They took a full day to get back to me, and said in the next 2 weeks. About a month later I called back asking about the trench. At that time I was asked when the internet would be installed. Living in the country with not even dsl access and satellite that takes 10 minutes to load an email, I asked what she was referring to as this was the first if heard about it. I was then told internet was required to commission and that the system would not work otherwise. Again I was very upset. I made it clear to the original sales guy that internet wasn't available when he asked to connect his laptop to wifi on his first trip out. We are thrilled with our solar panels. We have had them a year and are exceeding the recommended earnings. We were suppose to make about 26 kwts a day and we are averaging over 30. We have enough excess banked now that our bill is just the connection fee of $25.38 a month. The energy audit they did was great and they did all he upgrades to make the house more energy efficient. It was no additional cost. This included all new LED lights, more insulation and weather stripping around the door. The tax rebate was a great bonus as well. Best investment we ever made. read more

On top of that the $9000 in rebates we received from the electric company and the government for getting solar panels, they took and then just pocketed it and didn't even take it off of our total. Terrible company, never finished the job. Salesmen Evan was great. Trenches have been open in yard partly filled in for two weeks. Twice they did not show up and I had to call them to find out nobody is coming. They did not clean up after themselves, there were pieces of wire and steel drill outs laying all over. Not to mention the cigarette butts all over. Keys are jammed in one of our backup generators. The work crews talk more then they work. Got bent posts were panels were hung so the panels are all wavy. Supposed to have insulation blown in, in crawl space above house as part of deal. No calls or call backs on it. They truly do not care after they get pd. The funding on job was approved before job was even half done and had to get in there asses to finish the half done job. Seek a solar solution else where, this company nor its owner give a crap about customers. Employees did nothing but bad mouth company and say they were looking for better jobs. Said company treats them like crap. If we need more panels will go else where. U would think for 120k u would get good service. read more
