Even though I'm one town over, they still deliver to me. Haven't had them in a while so I got dinner from there. Today I got home style tofu, veggie fried rice, scallion pancakes and steamed pork gyoza. The tofu was good, pretty standard in flavor; it had a nice sauce and the tofu and veggies were of good quality. The fried rice was a little bland but it was also good quality and came with a good amount of vegetables. The gyoza was the best part of the meal; they were very delicious and the ingredients inside were so fresh that it seemed like they were made in house. Unfortunately, the worst part of the meal was the scallion pancakes. They tasted good, but they were unusually greasy, even for an appetizer like that. Even after I patted them down with paper towels, they were still too greasy. They weighed heavily on my stomach and I regret eating them. This place is good overall, but I've had better. Definitely do *not* get the scallion pancakes. read more

My go-to for Chinese food. They are always quick service, well priced and the food is solid. I usually get it delivered through an app, but I have been there a couple of times to pick it up. Either way it is always done quickly and the order is always correct. It is found at the end of a strip mall and inside is a little dingy and it could use some updating, but nevertheless it is good solid food. My absolute favorite menu item is the Szechuan Wonton w. Hot Oil spicy and savory. I could eat these every day and be thrilled. I get one order every time. I usually try and switch up what I order from there and all of there items are good. Their chef specialties are very good and diverse. I have never had something that I have said I would never get again. All of their dishes are on point and spice levels are adjusted to taste and flavor. They are a great Chinese food option in the area that I think people overlook or forget about, but they are one of my favorites. Good, quick Chinese food and prices are spot on. Main complaint is about the business plan for food delivery (within 1 mile). I phoned, notified the manager of my issue, she had a very rude attitude. Ordered food, for 29.36., 1 PLASTIC,BAG, EXTRA 0.10, Tax 2.17% then they added $1.00 gratuity when the credit sale receipt clearly stated TIP CASH, which was given to the driver before customer had seen the receipt. When a business such as this is so petty that it charges a dime for a bag to carry large, multi-containers of hot wet food, think again. Are their ingredients fresh and clean. Food was mediocre, competitors may present a more pleasant experience. read more

I can't speak for the American-Chinese cuisine, but for their more authentic dishes, the place is underrated relative to yelp scores. I almost did not order due to the mediocre reviews but I'm glad that I did. While they have the typical American-Chinese cuisine, I was more interested in the authentic offerings such as the Sliced Beef in Szechuan Hot Chili Sauce and the Spicy Cumin Beef. The flavor was definitely authentic, portions generous, and far cheaper compared to the tier 1 CT chinese restaurants such as SHU and Gingko. Despite these old reviews I gave the place a try after seeing the A rating. I ordered a variety of items for a movie night in to give them a chance. Fried vegetable dumplings, cold sesame noodle, steamed veggies with tofu and brown rice, broccoli and garlic sauce with white rice. All enjoyable dishes was our consensus. I got take out from here recently- it was my first time ordering from here. I stopped by around 8pm to grab some take out. The service was quick and the staff were friendly. I ordered chicken and broccoli, the portion was large and I was able to keep plenty of leftovers. The reason for my 3 star rating was simply because I found my food to have a little too much oil in it, I actually had to crack the lid open to pour some of it out because you could see it. The atypically bad Chinese take out/delivery. The food is oily, tastes terrible, and a total waste of money. The Fried Rice was that fried rice with pieces of steamed chicken. It lacked flavor and ingredients. The vegetable Lo Mein had about 1/2 inch of oil on the bottom of the container, few veggies, or a sauce. The Ma Po Tofu was beyond description. DISGUSTING Take your business elsewhere, unless you find oily horrible tasting food appealing. read more

Possibly my worst Chinese food ever. The hot and sour soup was sweet. The General Tsao's shrimp was one giant clumpy mass of thick, undercooked breading with shrimp inside. I had to pick through the mess to get the shrimp. The amount of goop was enough to fill the empty soup container! Probably the oil was way too cold. Had I eaten in, I would have refused to accept it. I would rate this "no stars" if I could. Since Hong Kong burnt down I've been trying other places and this was by far the worst. Everything was swimming and oil and all the flavors were "off" from what you would expect the dish to taste like. The Singapore Mei Fun had giant chunks of bell peppers that permeated all flavor and was inedible. The shrimp smelled dangerous so it went uneaten. The food at this place has really gone down in quality since the new owners took it over. The flavors of many of the dishes are off. They can't make hot and sour soup to save their lives. It's spicy, but flavorless and devoid of ingredients, and unlike before, the fried appetizers like egg rolls are under cooked, oily and soggy. My guess is they don't let the fryer get hot enough. The boneless spare ribs and fried rice are hard and dry. The lo mein is extremely dry, but everything else is floating in sauce and grease. They can't pack food correctly either. They put soups on top of the other items, the lids pop off and you end up with a bag full of food, sauce and grease. Soups sit in containers on the counter getting cold while the rest of the order is being prepared. I have given them three tries, and each time the food was below average. The last time I was there, a baby cockroach was crawling in front of the counter. Don't waste your money going here. I wish the other owners were back! read more

I completely disagree with the other reviewer. This is really good fast-food Chinese food. The fried rice was rice and steamed chicken? Heaven forbid! The lo mein was oily but without sauce?? When has cheap lo mein ever come with sauce? The tofu something something was gross? Um, duh. If you are looking for the classics- general tso chicken, fried stuff, sweet and sour anything then YUM. Best steamed veggie dumplings anywhere, even fancy places. If you want a Big Mac then go to McDonalds but don't complain that it tastes like a cheap cheeseburger. This is my favorite fast Chinese place, so grab yourself a purple drink, put on your best wife beater and enjoy some yummy food! read more

I had been ordering from here almost twice a week. I have a food sensitivity to carrots-I can eat a minute amount, but not large chunks or I will have an allergic reaction (and that includes any food cooked with large carrots). First time, carrots were in my dish. Second time, after informing them, no carrots-next time carrot HUNKS-both in my food and two different soups. I had to throw everything away-for the third time total. And I mean EXCESSIVE amounts. I put up with the 50-60 year old delivery man snaking his head around every time he delivered to get a look into my apartment, speaking on his cell when delivering, his nasty attitude-but having what can only be seen as putting outrageous amounts of an alerted allergen in my food is downright malicious! Also be advised they use so much salt, you will spend at least 48 hours completely dehydrated. An additional note-if you note 'no peppers' (for example) on a protein with Chinese vegetables, you will get a dish full of Chinese cabbage (that white, stringy, flavorless veg no one can identify). DISGUSTING PIGS!!! I will also be contacting the North Haven Health Department regarding the intentional disregard of allergen information. Screwed with the wrong consumer. read more
