Been coming to this steamed rice roll shop for nearly 20 years. Prices are still unbelievablely cheap after all this time. No frills. No thrills. Standing room only. Just the way I prefer it. They make a fantastic rice roll fresh after you order. You can watch the whole cooking process right in front of your eyes. The finished product is smooth, with just enough chew. If I have to nitpick, I wish their sauces were a bit thicker and stronger in flavor. However, I appreciate how good their rice roll is and can overlook that aspect. Definitely get the curry fish ball version. Ask for extra curry, then add soy sauce, peanut sauce, and hot sauce. The dry shrimp rice roll is also quite delicious too. You can't really go wrong. Enjoy!
Great hole in a wall cash only spot. It's about 15 minutes walk from the Seaport. Service was quick. For $6.75, I ordered the curry fish ball rice noodles and small taho. The meal covered breakfast and lunch during this heat wave. The spot opens from 7:30am - 4:30pm.
Honestly didn't love this place. Quick service, very fresh but I thought it was bland and not enough meat. The sauces were good but you need TONS. Great prices but probably won't be back.

I like going with the pork, the green onions, and the corn, but truthfully you can get whatever you like, and I'm sure it will be great. When you pair them with the peanut sauce, the hot sauce, and the soy sauce, it elevates the flavors to a whole new level. Also, they are surprisingly filling. One order is always enough to fill me up. The service is quick and efficient, and although there's no seating, I usually just go to the park down the block and enjoy my meal there.
This is a little hole in the wall spot, there's no seating, but you can totally sit on the stairs or lean against the walls of nearby buildings. This place was super affordable, all the rice rolls are all pretty much less than $5 with some being only $1.50 which is a total steal. I got the fresh shrimp rolls, they make it fresh with each order so they all come out piping hot. The rice rolls were super soft but a little plain, the sweet soy sauce helps. I wish there was a bit more shrimp in it but can't really complain for the price.

This type of rice noodles are not the same as those served in a banquet hall/dimsum joint and are freshly steamed on the spot. There is no seating, but we found wall ledge nearby and gobbled up our tasty rice rolls. Sauces are self service so definitely make sure to squeeze a lot as it's necessary for those rice noodles to taste superb. BRING CASH - as this place is cash only and as with most of nyc chinatown, cash is king.
This is still by far the best and cheapest eats you cannot find anywhere else when it comes to rice noodles! At $2.50, you can get a box of rice noodles that is good enough to satisfy your hunger! The rice roll is kind of tiny so to become full you might need to get 2 orders. They come in a plastic square box. I always get the beef, pork, or chicken rice rolls and they make it as you place your order so you know it is very fresh! I love their soy sauce and peanut sauces! They make the rice noodle really sweet in a good way that is very addicting and wanting you to crave more of it! I recommend this spot to anyone who wants fast and cheap bites!
Just OK - there was a LOT of rice rolls but just 4 shrimp, and the shrimp didn't even end up inside the rice rolls so it felt deconstructed. Don't make the same mistake I did and wait to eat it as it'll dry up. Super affordable (Shrimp was $4.25, but rice rolls range $2.50 - $5.00) and super chewy. Great texture. I would probably still take a sit-down over this spot, but convenience and speed takes the cake here.

Three orders for $10 so not much I have to critique on. Usually a roasted pork fan, so I didn't expect the beef to be my favorite--very tender, flavorful crumbles. As a sauce addict, I appreciate this store for leaving bottles at front for customers to freely add. They have a hoisin sauce, soy sauce, peanut sauce, and a spicy/sriracha sauce. I surely went back for seconds. Pretty fast prep time too. Despite the consistent line, I only waited a minute or two for my entire order to be ready. My only note is that this place makes their rice rolls the more mushy/clumpy way while I actually prefer the thinner/layered way. Still good though! And of course, cash only.

Rice rolls are so freaking yummy. We got the fresh shrimp rice roll and it was very good and soft-- I only wish there was a bit more shrimp, but I can't get too greedy. I also like how we're allowed to put as much soy sauce as we want, but since I was sharing with Josh, he's a bit more healthier than me so he went a little light on the soy sauce, but I could've upped my sodium intake a bit. They also make the food really fast! Eat it on the street. read more
One of the better rice rolls places in Ctown (although not in core Ctown as it's on Henry closer to east Broadway and walkable from the F train). On a residential block. Def no frills. No seating. The cheapest place in Ctown for sure. I got the dried shrimp rice roll. It was $3 and was ready in a few minutes. It was fresh, hot, soft, chewy. I also saw a traditional rolled rice roll with minced meat ($5) which I saved for later. Lady said don't resteam this as it won't taste as good. Eat as is. Cash. Will def come back. Came to Chinatown on a recommendation. There was a line but they are organized and move fast. The last taking your order also makes the noodle rolls so it was impressive how quick the line went. We tried a few different options. I definitely recommend adding the soy sauce. We dried fresh shrimp, pork, and curry fish balls. read more

I had a craving for some rice rolls and a quick search in the area showed me that I had this spot booked for some reason. Not sure what that reason was or why there are such great reviews because these rice rolls were not good. I ordered a beef one and a curry fish ball one. The beef isn't like dim sum spots where there's a bunch of ground beef inside. Instead, it's just pieces of ground beef scattered throughout. It was so little that you could barely even taste it. The fish ball was basic. The sauce was soo watery and it was really messy. Overall, the texture of the rice rolls wasn't too good either. It was too sticky/mushy. I can also asked for an extra container but note, that they charge an extra 25 cents for this. The sriracha and hoisin sauce on the side are also watered down. This could quite possible be some of the worst rice rolls I have ever eaten. read more
My friend used to live in NYC and she recommended this place for my trip. Upon walking up, I overhear a customer chatting with one of the staff and you can tell locals love this place. He told me he comes here very weak because it's that good. I wanted to try all their options, but since I was eating alone I just got the Fresh Shrimp and Chinese Sausage with Mixed Vegetables Rice Rolls. They have all the condiments at the window, so remember to dress it up there. I added the sweet soy and Sriracha to mine. These were so fresh and silky. Great prices and two very were filling! read more
My friend posted about this place and I had to try it bc I love rice rolls. $3.75 for a Chinese sausage and mixed veggie rice roll and $2 for a small cold soy milk is a good deal. For the price you don't get much of the fixings obviously, but it fills you up. Comes out hot as it's made fresh. Love all the sauces. I'm not sure how busy the line is but at 3pm on a weekday there was no wait at all. I'd totally come back here and try more rice rolls, please and tysm!!! read more

My boyfriend and I came here after we couldn't find the Cheong Fun Cart, and I'm so glad we came. This cheong fun was the perfect warm meal we needed on a cold, windy day. You order at the counter and they have it out in a few minutes. It's super affordable, and I loved seeing them make it in front of me. Best spot for cherng fun on this side of town. Sure, the beef, pork, roast pork fillings are the staples for all the non-Chinese/non-locals coming to get it after seeing this spot recommended on social media, but have you had the watercress. It's elite. Refreshing. A hit of vitamins A, C, K. Try it. I dare you. Add beef or pork or egg to it. Then add the usual dark soy sauce, peanut sauce, and hot sauce. Thank me later. The ladies are friendly, service is quick. Clean, efficient kitchen. Pick up a pack of flat noodles or fried tofu fo bring home while you're there. read more
I would eat this everyday if I could. I love rice rolls so much and they were so nice and chewy. They come out nice and hot, perfect texture. Sure, they're messy and not super well-constructed maybe, but I couldn't care less. These are super cheap and delicious. Highly recommend. Great spot if you're looking for a cheap snack. I got the pork rice rolls for $2.50, which is a steal. The service was pretty fast. This is a take-out only hole in the wall, so be prepared to eat outside or take it to-go. The rice noodles are really soft and silky. It was very different from the rice rolls I've had in the past. I really enjoyed the texture, but some people in the group preferred a more firm noodle. It's all up to personal preference, but I think this place is worth checking out, especially for the price. read more

They gave generous portion and sauces were optional on the side. Everything was perfect and affordable except we wished they had some chili oil to help add more heat and flavor to the rice rolls. read more
Pro-tip: Note that there's "fresh" shrimp rice rolls and shrimp rice rolls on the menu - without the word fresh, it's frozen and smaller. It's literally a hole in the wall so plan to eat this standing on the sidewalk or taken somewhere else. Highlights: It's a cool concept to get cheap rice rolls quickly without having to commit to an entire dim sum meal. I love their variety of rice rolls and also variety of sauces that you add yourself. They aren't like the best rice roll I've ever had but still pretty good. Lowlights: There's not a lot of filling in each of the rice rolls, but you get what you pay for. read more

They're super quick to make your food and have four sauces out for you to add to your rolls as you like. Sun Hing Lung is a Two Bridge tasty cheap eats literal hole-in-the-wall like you'd find in Flushing. I've been exploring assorted steamed rice rolls, from Joe's in Flushing to others in Chinatown. Sun Hing Lung, a friendly bare bone operation with only a window to order and take away, offers a rice roll serving hitting one of the lowest price points I've seen! With those low prices, they even include a variety of sauces too! Wow! I enjoyed the tender fresh shrimp and roast pork rice rolls, especially flavored with a peanut sauce. (Note - Respectively $4 and $3.25.) That being said, the rolls could benefit from something like scallions, which I'll try to get next time. Regardless, Sun Hing Lung was quick, fresh, and a great deal! Keep in mind, you'll need to find a place nearby to sit to enjoy them while they're hot! read more
Hands down the best rice rolls in Manhattan! Most of the rolls are less than $4, cash only, and they make it right in front of you. The texture is super soft and almost stretchy, which you don't really get at other rice roll places in the city. I get the fresh shrimp roll with egg, corn, scallion, and cilantro added in, and drench it in the sauces they have. The serving looks kinda small but it's more filling than it looks. read more
CASH ONLY. For the price, this is an excellent rice roll that is SUPER QUICK. No more waiting 40 minutes at any other location. The ladies working here will get your order in 3-5 minutes flat. I highly recommend the egg rice roll and add scallions. They also keep sauces outside that are all delicious: hoisin, peanut sauce, soy sauce, and sriracha. Took the train to Chinatown. These steamed rice crepe rolls are one of a kind. They're more like rice "lasagna" rolls in a cup. I ordered the beef roll. It's a lot of carb so pace yourself especially if you plan to do a mini food crawl in Chinatown. read more

After seeing so many Tiktoks praising the rice noodle rolls at Sun Hing Lung, I crossed over to the East Broadway side of Chinatown to pay them a visit. Sun Hing Lung also has an outpost by Grand and Bowery, but they only sell tofu and other soy products. I ordered a large cilantro rice noodle roll ($5) which I was a bit taken aback by as the large portion over at my favorite cart on Hester and Elizabeth was only $3.50. But, you do get a double portion of rice noodle rolls (small is $2.50) and they are quite thick so in the future, I think I'll go with a small order. Overall, I was quite disappointed with how thick and gummy these rolls were. the texture lacked the light bounciness and felt dense sitting in my stomach. I did think there was an even dispersion of herbs in my rice noodle rolls, but it was on the bland side. There are sauce bottles on the ledge by the window where you place your order so that you can douse to your heart's content. I'm willing to give them a second try because I love their tofu, but for now my favorite still remains the cheong fun cart on Hester and Elizabeth. read more

It was wet at the park so we took it to eat inside Essex market, even 20 minutes later it was still delightful and warm. Got Two orders of the beef rolls, these guys are filling AF. Does anyone know why it's closed or if it will reopen?
Word is they closed due to a failed gas inspection. They estimate a 6 month closure but I've seen these before and they can easily be a year. You need to reinspection after it's back to code.
