This is one popular donut shop on the weekends. I stopped by to grab a few donuts and a ham & cheese croissant. Delicious and fresh tasting without all the high amounts of sugar. They used to have Lottery tickets here but who knows why they stopped selling them.

    Donut that taste like heaven

It sure is hard to find a good donut shop these days. I've lived in Alhambra for awhile now and when I would leave for work at 4 AM I would see this shop with the lights on and wondered "hey they must be good ! " Took some time but I finally tried this sweet little gem of a shop. At first it was one glaze donut then it turned into a dozen. These donuts are like heaven if heaven had a taste! That is how good they are. I am in my 30s and taking a bite of these donuts brings me back to a young elementary school girl. I haven't had a donut that good since then. The owner is so kind and very welcoming. My son loves going for donuts. It's always a good trip. Great parking and a nice shop with a little bit of everything. Thank you for making the most delicious softest donuts!! Sun Donuts for all your donut needs !!!

So it was my turn to bring donuts for my office team. I decided to give this place a shot. It's close by my job and why not. I came in and out. Paid like $16 something for a dozen donuts. They have a good selection. The place is clean ,staff do their job. Donuts were great. Good hole in the wall donut shop try them out. Will be back.

Have been addicted to their #12 ham and cheese croissant for a bit now. They have pretty good donuts along with freshly squeezed juices. It's a small family business and you can feel the friendliness and familiarity as soon as you enter. Shared parking with the other businesses in the plaza: a laundromat, Italian restaurant and a tattoo parlor, I think? I only go in the mornings, on my way into work. Service is pretty fast and efficient. Seems to be a lot of neighborhood regulars. Happy to support this family business!

Was staying in Alhambra for about a week on vacation. My mom had picked up some donuts one morning and I just had to go back in and grab their iced coffee to finish off the delish donuts! Every morning while we stayed it was so good, there's nobody else I had rather go than get their iced coffee in the morning to get me going. They open early so which was nice and every time you go in, everyone in there is super friendly! Even all the customers were more than happy waiting in line during the busy hours. Seemed like a great place to have a relaxing happy morning. On my last day I decided to get a box of donuts to bring back with me to Canada so my boyfriend could try their delectable donuts, opened the box and Kim the owner had threw in some free holes as well! She was super sweet everyday I came in and as well as all the staff. The donuts made it back all in one piece and I've never tried a Bear claw before and it was absolutely delicious. I think it's a Cali donut or maybe American thing? So overall, SOFTEST, not dry donuts I've ever had. Better than Krispy Kreme and Tim Hortons. So if you're in the area, please try this local mom and pop shop. Highly recommend!

The coffee was well-made - it wasn't burnt, overly bitter, or sour, so the extraction seemed solid. However, the flavor felt flat and watered down. It lacked the aroma, body, and rich roasted notes that make a cup memorable. Nothing really stood out, leaving it tasting more diluted than satisfying. Also, I don't think the barista could froth the coffee well. Instead of a nice velvety, dense froth, the froth was a bubbly foam (see photo). Food - 3/5. I visited around 9 a.m., but the pastry selection was surprisingly limited (see photo). The pastries also didn't taste particularly fresh; they had more of the texture and flavor you'd expect from pastries sitting out later in the day rather than freshly baked items you'd hope to find early in the morning. The café has a modern, hip vibe and a warm, inviting atmosphere. It's spacious, with plenty of seating, making it a pleasant place to spend some time. Overall, Smoking Tiger Coffee Lab is a fine neighborhood café if you're looking for a comfortable place to sit and enjoy a coffee. Unfortunately, neither the coffee nor the food left much of an impression. Nothing was particularly bad, but nothing really stood out either. While the ambiance is probably its strongest point, the coffee is just average.

They have some tables but not enough for a place to hangout to be honest. Their whole concept is pretty much a open kitchen, order and walk to the back and wait for your order. Their menu is quite extensive, from teas, boba, coffee, fruit teas, they've got it all. For first timers, they have a signature section which I think is basically their most popular drinks, they're all recommended to try. My wife and I ordered the Oreo Matcha Brulee and the Uji Matcha Latte to share, both came out pretty quickly, around 5 minutes or so. I'm a huge sucker for oreo matcha brulee type drinks and this place made it perfectly. Each sip is full of the ingredients, very refreshing, and perfect sweetness in my opinion with 30% - 60% sugar level. Overall, great tea shop, it's pretty ironic to find a place that's just called "The Tea" which can be hard to search up, but their drinks are high quality, staff is quick, and their shop is clean. Paying almost 8 dollars for a specialty tea wasn't a great feeling, but they had an atmosphere and quality that offset it for the most part. Now, they expect you to pay 10 dollars for some of those exact same drinks. The most recent menu price update for august brought some items up to 9.85 pre-tax. That doesn't even include the dollar extra for their specialty tapiochi. You can't even modify the sweetness or dairy on some! Seriously? How in the world can little more than a single year of being open warrant that kind of price increase? You can't even pull the quality card at that point because you can get high quality ceremonial matcha with specialty housemade syrups, toppings, or foam/cream caps at plenty of other places these days and that's typically in the 7 dollar range, which is, again, not a fun number to pay for a drink. For these prices, I ought to see the receipts on some kind of hyper-local sourced fruits and dairy, specialty fair+ free trade small batch organic tea where we know the farmer's name and when it was harvested. (These aren't even unreasonable asks, you can purchase imported matcha and tea in the US with this level of transparency). It feels more like a hype traffic price increase rooted in greed than anything else. That kind of anti-consumer move doesn't win loyalty, it wins you one trip and an instagram photo and an "it was good, but not worth what I paid." Which is how I felt the last time I ordered the matcha einspanner, which was more bitter than I'd expect and not even smoothly whisked to eliminate graininess. Congrats on your profit margins though, I guess. Your workers make minimum wage and the website says the owner is (was?) a medical doctor. That says something, doesn't it.
