Impact Plumbing to the rescue!…read more I contacted a variety of plumbers via Yelp to help with a malfunctioning hot water heater. Not only was Impact one of the first to respond, but they noted they could get a technician onsite in an hour - on a Sunday, no less! The technician texted when enroute and arrived right when scheduled. The diagnosis was quick (full replacement, womp womp) and the quote was reasonable. Blake thoroughly walked through all the replacements and explained everything that was included in the replacement package plus warranty options. I felt very informed in making the decision to proceed. It was pleasantly surprised when Blake said that they could do a same day replacement, especially when I was just expecting a quote and diagnosis! Blake and Jase got the job done in about 2.5 hours and within an hour of their departure, the hot water was back in action. Impact exceeded my expectations with their responsiveness, availability, professionalism, cleanliness, and price-fairness. Richard FaceTime me and I showed the active leak flowing out of my ceiling. We were trying to locate the shutoff valve & he had me to try to turn the knob on the water meter valve. He said we're gonna have to send out a water restoration company. So I informed by my landlord that the plumber was 20 minutes out. Not Richard who FaceTime me but another man came out to the property. When he got here, he tried to turn the water meter valve with a wrench. I asked him why he doesn't have the long stick tool to turn it that most plumber has. His reply was I forgot it. I'm thinking what kind of plumber forgets his tools. He wasn't able to turn it cause it was stuck. Anyway he takes some pictures and says to me, I'll be back to take more pictures once a claim has been started & the plumbers will come and fix the problem. I'm like what? You're not even a plumber? So I call the landlord back & told her that Richard sent a water restoration company and it wasn't even a plumber who came by. (Mind you, I have an active leak in progress.) So she calls the plumber and Richard calls me back and I tell him that wasn't a plumber you sent! He said no it was the water restoration company. I asked him what about the active leak flowing? He said I'll let you know when I'm on my way this afternoon. I said "this afternoon" So I am supposed to wait until this afternoon with all this water flowing? It was only 9:50 in the morning. So I ask him, so I have to deal with flowing water on my floor damaging property until you decide to show up this afternoon? I text the owner, he tells her one thing & tells me another so she must have got on him cause now he's all of a sudden on his way after wasting all this time. He should have been on his way when he called & FaceTime me seeing the active leak on the screen. He tells me he does a lot of work in these old townhomes (Paradise Village) he's doing everything but address the active leak itself. What most people don't realize it that a plumber gets a kickback from the water restoration company so they want to get a claim open as soon as possible. What is wrong with people these days. He was letting the active leak continue probably to create more damage. The more water damage, the bigger the restoration and the bigger the kickback. Then he realizes that he made things worse by opening up the valves and looks at the ceiling and says your landlord has to put you in a hotel, this is inhabitable & just left leaving the water flowing. I wanted to write this review to warn others about this company and to encourage others to read multiple reviews both good and bad I it's entirely before deciding to hire. I'm so disappointed in this company and must warn others to beware of this company. In desperation I ended up calling a friend of mine whose roommate was an actual master plumber that actually stopped the water flow & fixed the plumbing. Why didn't I call him in the 1st place? Because the landlord was responsible in sending a plumber. But thanks to my friend she now has a reliable plumber who first interest isn't to try to get a kickback from a water restoration company but to actually help his customers. At first, I was a little bit taken aback because outward honesty is rare, but in the end after I compared all of the analysis, estimates, visuals, I was provided with, and statements of the five bids I put myself through - Zoom Drain was spot on accurate and offered what was truly in my best interest and recommended only what was in my best interest. I also found it noteworthy that when they begin work, the outside specialties that they brought in such as a plumber, and a relining company for one section of my pipe were exactly the same as they were. Birds of a feather flock together. A year or two ago, I use the lining company to check my pipes because I live in an old neighborhood. That relining company associated with the Zoom Drain told me that there was nothing wrong with my pipes and that I should do nothing. This job involved running new sewer pipe, and a new clean water feed into my house while I had the driveway ripped up to put down new pavers and new Irrigation. In other words, I'm being proactive in in an old neighborhood and getting the pipes replaced before they failed. Zoom's pricing was very very fair and if you want to do the worst of the math, 1/3 of the price of Lee Plumbing who's analysis in bid was outside the norm as determined by the other 4 bids. Don't get me started on Lee Plumbing a conglomerate to scooping up all the small independent plumbing companies in Las Vegas. Finally, when digging up my yard, Zoom Drain did not have to try to save an old cactus a blooming tree in several other plantings, but they did carefully shoveling around things that were in danger instead of just using the heavy machinery. I have no hesitation at all and recommending Zoom Drain. I don't work for them, they did work for me, the work is done, and I'm getting nothing from this except the feeling I'm paying back someone who did very well for me and that I recommend to others.
