    BELFOR Property Restoration

Our experience is very positive throughout, I'd like to shout out the Mr Steve Gress at Belfor, he really cares about the finished product and his customer. There were a few minor things after the property was restored that need to be corrected. Since we didn't find out the issues until property was occupied by tenants months later, Belfor still worked with us and went out to address the issue. We are very fortunate to have Steve at Belfor to take care of us. I am happy to take any questions reviewers might have about our experience with Belfor via Yelp messaging. Thanks you Steve and Belfor!

Because of my recent experience I will never use or recommend BELFOR for any project. They were…read moreselected by my insurance company to provide restoration after my house was flooded by a plumbing problem. This was a standard flood repair project - standard paint, carpet, pads, tile, and cabinets. There was no drywall repair needed. This was a project that should have taken no more than 2 months, and it took well over 4 months. I encountered the following issues with the contractor and the workers: The lead contractor provided very little and inaccurate communication. I would only receive status reports when I would call after observing days or weeks of no progress. Misleading and false information was provided to me and to my insurance adjustor. He assured me that workers were on site when they were absolutely not. He promised timelines that were continuously not met and there were many lengthy delays. He did not provide adequate supervision of his subcontractors. Workers did an adequate job, but there was inattention to details and lack of respect for my property. When the new cabinets were installed they installed cabinet finish materials prior to installation of the dishwasher. They attempted to force the dishwasher into an inadequate space which resulted in irreparable damage to the dishwasher door hinges. The new RO unit was installed incorrectly - the drain line was installed too close to the disposal output which resulted in dirty disposal water being forced back up through the air gap. The painters washed paint equipment in my flower beds and on the patio with no cleanup. Old baseboards and other construction trash was left in closets and on patios with no cleanup effort. They apparently put construction materials into one of the sewer holes prior to reinstalling toilets resulting in costly plumbing repair. I experienced over 4 months of frustration with BELFOR. I was initially under the impression that they were a quality company. I was extremely disappointed.

They started a packing job professionally and efficiently. They took down walls quickly and professionally. One month later and repeated requests for a timeline to finish the job (i.e., restoration) have gone unanswered. This job should have taken at most 2 weeks - instead, my family has now been displaced for 5 weeks (and counting) because Service Master Restoration simply cannot follow through.

I did manage to have a chat with the Mesa Police Department who told me about the fire and said they would do what they could to secure the house. A little while later I learned that Service Master had "secured" my home. The boarded the door up because the fire department had broken it down. Then they placed a padlock and hasp to keep people out. I do not know how they got to my house, knew about the fire, or knew I wasn't home. Apparently, that's easy info to get because I learned from people who visited my home while I was gone that groups of people were just parked in driveway and/or along the street in front of my house. Who were then then forcefully asked everyone to leave. They all came back eventually at some point. This whole industry is disgusting. I learned that someone was already in my house "starting the job". I learned that Service Master approached my insurance adjustor who was looking things over and claimed I had provided them with signed authorization for them to start on the mitigation. Which would have been impossible since I was sitting on a houseboat without a single resource that would have made it possible for me to provide a signed contract. I didn't even have access to email. Just satellite text message capability here and there. Or, even know who Service Master is. They called and left messages for weeks saying they had started the work and wanted to talk about finishing the job. No one I know or myself ever gave Service Master my phone number or any kind of contact information. They learned my nephew was visitng the scene and claimed to know him and that he told them Service Master was Ok to begin work. At the time they were the only ones who had access inside my house because it was their lock. Someone could have broken in. I would not put that passed anybody who is in this profession. These low lives are taking advantage of people who are experiencing a tragedy and exploiting their naivety to rip the insurance company and homeowner off without a single bit of guilt. Check out my reviews on All Dry Valley of the Sun and AZ Packout who I had the displeasure of working with to get my home back to living condition. Everyone should visit the Better Business Bureau and file a complaint on every single entity you come into contact with. The businesses work together and provide "kickbacks" if brought along for the job. All Dry brought AZ Packout to my place and told them to take good care of me. AZ Packout then stole my property and did about $40k in damages. AZ Packout has an F at the BBB and 70% of their customers on Yelp have left them a 1 star rating. The lowest possible score. And All Dry brought them along knowing this. It's felony level criminal damage, neglect, and fraud. Do not trust anybody who is in this business. Nothing but lies and falling short on every part of the job. Why else would they not allow customers to leave a rating on the business's websites?

We reached out to Go To Services as our 3rd call to get our bathroom remodeled (just a tiny, 6'x9'…read morebathroom), but they ended up being the lowest bidder, and seemingly the most honest. Our bathroom had some mold, but we suspected it was simply surface mold and not black mold; our first two contractors that came out just made the on-the-spot determination: that's black mold, we'll need to tear everything down to the studs, replace everything, etc. Go To was the first to say, "Let's take a look at this." Thankfully, everything tested out just fine. There were a couple hiccups along the way: there was a misunderstanding about the tile pricing, and there was a considerable issue with the people who came in to do the tile work causing damage to my front yard by walking through it, using it to set up equipment, etc., but in the end, that was remedied after I talked to the foreman. The final result was a very beautiful bathroom with extremely well-done tile, paint, and plumbing work. They were very good with communication throughout the process and took care of EVERY issue as soon as it was pointed out. I would definitely use them again.

Lack of respect for the home with issues like damage done to preexisting items and significant paint over spray. Constant miscommunications with who was showing up when. Went through three project managers and still needed to have an outside contractor come in and check all the work daily. Things broken and then hidden. They do the bare minimum and then see how much you are willing to complain. Cracked materials used, damage to stainless steel appliances by resting other metal items on them. Weeks and weeks of waiting to go things ordered. They wasted my own left over materials I gave them to use. Easily the worst situation I have had with a company . The mold mitigation team and Alex in the front office were awesome and lured me into a false sense that they could do the rebuild. They did win in that I finally just had to tell them to get out and have the rest done and a cleaning crew come in. I will be sharing this to all platforms, review sites and the better business bureau. The only advantage I had was they were part of my home insurance so I had to sign off on there work. I did extremely reluctantly. I have extensive documentation of everything. They will not be working with my home insurance company again and I warn anyone else from using them. I went through three project managers and numerous workmen and they were worse then the last.
