I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at Christian Brothers Automotive. I first brought my car in on 6/24/2025 for vibration on the front passenger side. I spoke with Robby Stahmer, who diagnosed the issue as worn struts and recommended replacing both the front and rear struts for a total of $2,433.07. But when I picked up my car, the vibration was still there--and now there was a clacking noise too. Over the next few weeks, I returned several times, only to be told something different each visit. I paid another $677.03 for a control arm ball joint after being reassured it would finally fix the issue by Robby Stahmer. It didn't. A technician, Edgar later admitted he still heard the same noise and suggested different parts, but management told me I'd have to pay all over again, even though the original problem was never resolved. I've now spent $3,110.10, and my car is in the same condition as day one. The owner promised to follow up on 7/23/2025, but months later I still haven't heard a word. I feel ignored, misled, deceived and deeply frustrated. I'm asking for a full refund for repairs that didn't fix anything.

Immediately I was confused since he than begin talking about replacing valve covers due to "Houston Heat" and I even mentioned that it sounding like I just needed a new starter. I told him that we can get a quote for one valve cover and remove/replace starter. He originally quoted me over $1500 and gave me a pamphlet that goes over payment options. I feel like since I was a female and had a nice car that the shop was trying to take advantage. I then took my car to a local shop and had the starter replaced for $150 which solved the issue. I brought in my 2018 Cadillac Escalade, and everything went downhill from there. They damaged my wheels while replacing the tires. Then they charged me $12,000 for front struts and rear air bag replacements--only for me to bring the vehicle back because the front strut wasn't installed correctly. They claimed they were "under new management" and would "make it right," but nothing was ever fixed properly. They also insisted my spark plugs needed replacement. Supposedly they did the job, but the moment I picked up the vehicle it was ticking, running rough, and performing worse than before. They kept the car again and told me it was "good to go." It wasn't. The Escalade broke down on Saturday. I had it towed to Firestone, who immediately found an exhaust leak causing the ticking noise--and worse, they showed me the spark plugs that this shop installed. They were stripped. To make things even shadier, this place doesn't provide proper paperwork for the work they claim to perform. Between the sloppy repairs, the outrageous charges, and the lack of documentation, this shop is absolutely untrustworthy. I also contacted the corporate office and received no response. Save yourself the headache and consider bypassing this business. It seems their focus is on taking your money rather than properly completing repairs. No Customer Service.

Since I do not, the next best thing was finding LA Auto which is Woman owned and Operated to fix my ride! LA Auto was brought to my attention thanks to the Projects feature in the Yelp App. I sent out a request for a job or service and Yelp broadcasted it to businesses to reach out to me concerning the service. I had initially had a different mechanic before LA Auto that was going to do the job, but a price change occurred before the vehicle was in their possession. Decide to nix that mechanic and go back to the drawing board acquiring estimates for the job. By this point, I had already ordered and picked up my parts directly from the dealership so they would match my vehicle. All I needed was the labor to complete the repair. I was really intrigued that there was a Woman owned and operated auto shop in Houston, so I decided to reach back out to the shop about an estimate for labor. My inquiry was Friday afternoon, so I didn't expect to hear back until Monday. Liz, the Owner, however, was in contact with me in and out the entire weekend asking for pictures of the parts to ensure they were correct for the vehicle based on the VIN as well as making sure they didn't need to paint the handles. She gave me a range on the price for the labor, which I could understand because she never saw the vehicle before- only pictures of the damage. We did most of our communication on Monday which offerred a great opportunity for me to get the car fixed that afternoon since she had an opening. I honestly thought I may have to come back another day to get the job completed because EVERY OTHER BODY SHOP I SPOKE TO said I would have to drop the car off just to get an estimate. I did that with one Pearland body shop and received a quote of over a THOUSAND dollars just to fix some handles! They even stated the labor was high because the panels of the car had to be removed. Thanks to Youtube, II knew that was not the case and Liz the owner and my mechanic confirmed my research as she completed the work on the vehicle in less than an hour WITHOUT removing the inside panels. She worked fast and I was even able to see her work from the office which provides a chair or two inside for waiting customers. A/C is blizzard cold inside the waiting area, so bring a jacket. This is not your car dealership waiting room with tvs and refreshments, so bring your own, but Liz worked so fast I didn't need to indulge in either! Really friendly, sincere, and affordable service from Liz at LA Auto. I am so glad to not only have my car repaired (FINALLY, with the exception of one small part that the dealership gave me in error that doesnt affect the main fix) but I am so estatic to support a small business owned and operated by women. I am telling everyone I know about LA Auto if they ever need repairs on their vehicle. This place is a real gem and deserves to shine!

I called him twice Saturday morning to discuss logistics but he didn't answer. I sent a text asking him to call me back and he never did. Instead, he sent me text stating he is unsure of the time but that he will be able to come to my home Saturday afternoon to do the job. Later, he text me that he would not be able to make it, but that he could come to my home the following day, 1/18, to do the job. I called him immediately upon receiving this text and again, he did not answer my calls. Sunday morning I reached out to him via text asking when he would come fix my vehicle. He said he would be at my home some time after 2pm. He never came nor did he advise that he would not be able to come. I text him Monday morning, 1/19, asking what happened. A few hours went by and no response. At this point I am no longer receiving any communication. I believed I was not going to hear back so I posted a review stating he's a thief. I finally heard back from him via text within an hour after posting my original review, shocking. He said he's for sure coming this time. Again, shocking. He also asked me to remove my review... considering he still had parts I paid for and that belonged to me in his possession. He delivered my parts to me that Monday evening. I no longer wanted him to perform the job so I immediately asked him to leave. He obviously doesn't understand professionalism nor the value of a man's word. He thinks this is about money.
