So I take my vehicle there because of a check engine light. They tell me "It's a fuel pump." Then try to charge me almost $800 to replace it. (The part itself was about $150 at auto zone so where the extra $600 comes from is beyond me. Ended up getting it replaced for $250) Turns out the fur el pump wasn't even the issue. So basically they charge you $70 to tel you whatever they want, then try to overcharge you to fix it. This place is full of crap. They take zero accountability for their mistakes. I went in to get a quick oil change and have my brakes looked at. About 75 minutes later, I was called to the front desk where I was told I would need to purchase a new oil pan as the screw hole had become stripped from the previous person who changed it and they could no longer screw the cap in. This is after they'd already drained the oil, so it seemed as if I was stuck. They said it would cost me nearly $700, and I wouldn't get my car back until several hours later in the evening. The man acted as if there weren't any other options for me (like putting on a cap or fixing the threads) but that I would need to dish out nearly $700 to put in a new oil pan. They gave me an old car with the gas nearly on empty and a broken windshield to use while they fixed my car. Ten minutes later, I decided to take my car back to the original dealership. I paid Auto Check a $35 for some oil that I would only use for 15 minutes on the drive over to Honda, hoping it wouldn't leak. Honda fixed the problem for free and did a free oil change within 40 minutes. I'm so glad that I trusted my intuition and didn't waste nearly $700. read more

We took our vehicle for a simple alignment and the first time the gentleman at the front desk was on the phone the whole time, he didn't even let us know how long it would take for our vehicle to be done to us or what there warranty policy is, we had to ask with much more concern with his phone call. We were force to return since our vehicle was still not aligned. The person there today was a bit more cordial , after the alignment was redone our vehicle is shaking and leaking some type of oil, the machanic stated we had some previous issues little did he know our machanic had expected our vehicle a couple days previous. I mentioned that my car also had minor electronic component problems going on such as dome light not working and car not beeping when I double pressed the lock remote (i.e., to find my car in a parking lot). They told me they couldn't address the electronics part because they would close soon, but they could do the oil and tires and run a check engine diagnostics. They went on to charge me 100 dollars for the check engine and I asked why charge so much for such a simple procedure, just for a diagnostics. They said it was a not a common check engine, but a step by step procedure that would take 45 min to 1 hour. Wow... Ok... I paid it. My car came back to me about 1 hour after they took it into the garage... That is usually how long they take JUST for the tire and oil, so I got confused... How did they do 2 things that last 1 hour each in just 1 hour? They told me the check engine light was for a purge valve. I drove to an autoZone and had them check the codes. They took 30 sec, and for free, told me that it was a purge valve... So this store tells me that they need to charge me 99 bucks because something takes about 1 hour, but it is actually something that takes 30 sec and can be done for free at any corner. They took 1 hour to do oil + tire + check engine and told me that just the check engine would take about 1 hour, so clearly they lied. I called to say I wouldn't be coming back to my appointment on Friday to fix the purge valve and THEY ASKED ME why. I explained that I didn't feel comfortable with a company that says they will charge 100 bucks for something because it is a complicated 1 hour procedure, when it is actually a 30 sec thing. They chewed me, saying I came up with a LIST of SO MANY problems and THAT is why they charged me 99 dollars. That is a LIE. The "list of problems" were the electronic things that they NEVER checked, because they said it was too late in the day, and they said I would need to come back for a electric diagnostic for an EXTRA 145 dollars. The person on the phone (very rude all the time) just kept saying that the 99 dollars was because of my immense list of problems, which I can't expect them to fix for free. That just makes no sense. They never FIXED or even DIAGNOSED any of those problems! They just did the engine light check, which takes 30 sec! He said they are free to charge however much they want, because no one is forced to pay. I replied I was free to not come back, and he just said "whatever" in a mockery tone and hung up. read more

They should have an option to add a (-) in front of the stars. I took my car to Auto Check on Briar Forest a little over a month ago because it wouldn't start on more than one occasion. My husband removed the battery and took it to Auto Zone to check if it was bad, it wasn't a bad battery. He reconnected it and the car started. When I tried starting it the next day all I got was a "click" sound. We finally got it started and decided to take it to Auto Check the following Monday. We told them what was happening and that we think its the starter. We were told they have a policy of a mandatory $59 diagnostic check which would go toward the repair balance if something needed to be repaired. We didn't think it was a bad idea since we figured the starter needed to be replaced. Well, they never called me to tell me what they found so I called them around 1 pm only to be told nothing was wrong other than a few loose wires to the battery and that they tightened everything. Mind you, my husband already tightened everything after he reconnected the battery over the weekend. They picked me up after work and told me my bill was $62.22 for the diagnostic and that if the same problem happened again I could bring it back and I wouldn't have to pay for another diagnostic. I paid them but I will never go back even though it happened 2 more times (why would I let you screw me twice?). Turned out the starter was bad and we just had it replaced. My question is why didn't a code show up on the diagnostic that it was going bad? Also, why didn't he tell me about the other code that I was already aware of? I don't know why the have a great rating with the BBB but I'll never let these crooks take my money again. I think if they find nothing wrong they should charge a flat rate of $25 for their time but to charge someone $60 for absolutely NOTHING, is wrong. To plug in a cable under the steering wheel and look at the screen on the monitor to view a code that states what's wrong with the vehicle is not worth $60! They even know that, since the $60 goes toward the repair bill. Terrible business ethics...avoid these crooks. read more

BEWARE!!! A simple coolant leak turned into a complete replacement of our engine. After 8 times of back and fourth, in and out of this shop we finally decide to bring our car to Dodge, and the dealership refused to work behind this company. Dodge stated to us that it would be a liability because the previous work was poorly done. We then had no choice but to return the car back to Auto check. After threatening the company with a law suit they replaced the engine, but didn't even change the oil!!! We lost approximately $3800.00, plus numerous uber rides at over $300. We currently are still having major issues with the car, because after the engine was replaced, the mechanic created other issues in the process. The car now pulls to the right, the power steering is ruff, and the engine idle is making a loud noise. Auto check refuses to take responsibility for this and is blaming it on the age of the vehicle, even though these weren't issues prior to them replacing the engine and was discovered at the time the car was picked up. They are now refusing to further work on the car to repair the new issues. This forces us to take the loss and purchase a new vehicle, because again Dodge will not work on the car. The most disappointing thing about this whole situation is that the owner would not face us, not one time in this 10 month debacle, to discuss why we are having so many issues with his mechanics. read more

The gentleman said I need a lower control arm, but can still do the alignment just bring it back when im ready for the lower control arm and he would warranty it. Well, come to find out they need to do an alignment again once they put the lower control arm in. He gave me a price of 415 plus tax which the part is only $76 but said it was $200 plus.
