I've lived in Georgetown for 9 years now, and used several auto services for my three used cars and 1 old pick-up truck I've owned during that time. I've only used dealer service departments when absolutely necessary, as they are always much more expensive and inconvenient. In my opinion, Georgetown proper has plenty of good and mostly honest, hard working service shops at reasonable rates. But the one I have frequented the most consistently since they opened about 5 years ago, is Sun Auto Service. I've read all the posted remarks hereon, and can't speak for the ones that were dissatisfied -- except to say they are few in number compared to all the many folks like me who've used and liked Sun over the years. What I can say for sure is that Sun has ALWAYS been extremely courteous, respectful and super professional to me and my vehicles each and every time! Granted, I've never had vehicle problems requiring many hundreds or even thousands of dollars to deal with. One or two hundred at a time -- and maybe a $300-or-so repair once -- has always been the extent of my needs. But I would not be hesitant to use them if my needs were much greater and more expensive. At the very least, I would give them a price-check call and look-see of my dilemma before going with any other quote I received. I should also say this, that I don't personally know any of the owners or workers that Sun has had over the years, including no one with the new ownership. But they've always treated me fairly, as a valuable customer and as if I was a friend. In fact, I just used them again for my 2-year old vehicle's routine maintenance inspection and state inspection sticker, and they were even MORE friendly and professionally helpful than ever! They gave me great new info about my vehicle brand's ranking, rating and history for repair and maintenance problems, and the savings I can get with their new offers on other maintenance work I may want or need someday. And lastly, let me mention how attentive I've always been in their open waiting room. I've listened to other customers coming in with their problems, or picking up their vehicles. And in all those times I've never heard a displeased word from any from them. NEVER! So I hope that tells you something. It sure does for me! read more

Thanksgiving weekend (11/24/2012), my daughter and I were stuck in Georgetown and over 3 hours away from home the car started doing crazy things, not good. I didnt go to Sun Auto Service because it was recommended but it was the only place that was going to be open all day. This was at Sun Auto Service #71, 1403 Rivery Blvd., Georgetown, TX 78628, 512-819-9200. The gentlmen there were great, I wish I could remember their names. I had no idea what was wrong with my car and I was in a panic mode. Well, you name it and it was wrong with my car. Im in tears and with less than no money, what am I going to do?! The credit department was open and the lady I spoke with was very gracious and explained things in terms I could understand. Ok, I got credit in less than 5 minutes. There has never been a better manager than the one I had that day. He worked with me until we got parts and prices down to where I could afford repairs. What credit I didnt get my brother took care of. He was really impressed with how this was handled over the phone. The mechanic, bless his heart, had a mess to deal with and I must say he did a fine job. There were 3 gentlemen who worked with me that day and I so wish I could remember their names. They went above and beyond the call of duty. And my car, which is a 2002 Century Buick and at that time had all its original parts, is running great! One of the guys even called to make sure we got home alright. If you have things wrong with your car this is the place to go, especially if you're a woman. read more

I am not typically one to leave online reviews, unless I am Mad, Mad! However, every time I have my car serviced, I am nothing short of astonished at just how different this automotive shop "feels" versus any other shop I've ever used. Its very..... un-corporate feeling. Which is wonderful!! I feel like the guys in there know me and my vehicle, and if you take the time to have a conversation, you will get to know them too. It feels like "old school" customer service married "technologically advanced" auto repair, and one thing led to another, and BOOM!! Sun Auto G-Town!! The store manager, Michael, is very honest with me about my vehicle. When it needs something, they tell me and we fix it. When it doesn't need anything, they change the oil, rotate the tires, and send me on my way. No high pressure sales tactics here. Oh, and Anthony, he is fantastic too! I was a little nervous when my brakes started making noise last month, and I went to the shop, and Michael happened to be off that day. BUT, Anthony is FANTASTIC as well. He shot me straight, didn't try to sell me unnecessary services, and got my car in and out of there in just the right amount of time. Not too quickly, where I would question the work, not too slowly, where I'm twiddling my thumbs....and fair and honest pricing. Thanks Anthony! I love this place! The guys are always very friendly, and are so knowledgeable. They explain things in terms I can understand but are not at all condescending. I really like that they don't mind checking out little things, and they are so cost effective, yet very thorough. I had my brakes done there for over $100 less than what it would have been at my old mechanic. Their record keeping is very concise, also. Today I stopped in there to get a price quote for a muffler hanger. I didn't expect to have the repair done, but they were so efficient, they were able to get the part I needed and get it onto my vehicle in an hour, and by the time I was done I had new wiper blades purchased and installed, plus a repair that was quoted elsewhere to be $65, for $49 there at Sun Auto. This was all done while working with the appointments they already had, and another walk in. I also appreciate that they will honestly tell me when I call to see if I can make an appointment what the estimates time for repairs will take, and if I need to make an appointment or not. I love that they make appointments and schedule accordingly. I live in Killeen, but it is worth the drive for the quality of parts, work, and customer service I receive there. read more

Recently I submitted a low review after coming home as I was frustrated with the problem I was having and I didn't feel they responded professionally. I aired out my problem and was almost immediately contacted with a response that didn't say I was all wrong but strongly indicated to return with my truck so they could take the time to look further into solving the problem. The Manager met me and we discussed what was going on. He never asked me about what I had written in the review and did not ask me to remove it BUT I was so comfortable with his response I went home and removed it from the yelp. It took over a week as they had to get it to fail as it was an intermit problem. Finally one morning as they were about to take it out of the garage it failed. They then were able to identify the problem and get it fixed. I picked it up today and not only was it fixed but they gave me a receipt with no charges. To me there is no question that they did all that was necessary to have a satisfied customer. I've been going to the Georgetown Sun Auto Service for awhile now for routine oil changes, and also because both of our cars are 2007 models and things will need replacing from time to time. I used to compare their prices with the dealership, and even some other local garages, but I have found that they are WAY cheaper than the dealership, and most times cheaper than the other garages. But on top of price, they have told me several times that I didn't need to have done what the dealership said I needed done. Needless to say, I don't waste time shopping them anymore against the dealership or other local garages. Not to mention, they stand by their work. I had a new p/s pump installed, it failed after awhile, and they were quick to replace. Pretty good customer service, and shuttle was available when needed. Hard to find a good garage/mechanic, but I feel like I've found one. read more

I have recently have taken my wife's Dodge Journey to have the transmission fixed. They are very willing to work with you. They are always very nice when you have a problem with anything. After sun auto fixed our transmission they noticed that the battery was not any good anymore. Instead of just putting in a new battery they called to let us know. When we told them that I would take care of the battery they didn't try and push the sale on to us. I can only say good and great things about this wonderful place. They have my business from here on out. Oh and to top it all off they replaced the battery at no charge after they couldn't get the car started to move from the bay they where working on. I believe in taking the time to leave a review when someone really deserves it...sun auto does & Chance Newman definitely does too! I have used them for my oil changes & inspections, but lately I've had a lot of larger issues to deal with. It has been a blessing to have a place I can trust & not second guess if I'm doing the right thing. Their prices are competitive & they have always offered me a discount when committing to the work. They have a great financing card offered thru car credit with no interest for a period of time. The level of customer service given is outstanding! Every person I've dealt with is so nice. When my back window in my car failed to go UP, I was recommended by a friend to go to Sun Auto. While I am a First Time user at Sun Auto service in Georgetown Texas, I will certainly go back! Robert met me at the front desk and answered my many questions. They were able to take my car back that afternoon, even though it was 4PM when I arrived. They quickly told me what the issue was, how long it would take to fix it and how much it would cost. I was called when the part came in and my car was fixed quickly! The customer service was great! The waiting area was clean, and snacks, coffee and hot chocolate were available! I would recommend Sun Auto to anyone. Ask for Robert, he was Super!! read more

Chance was an amazing help. Brought my 2010 GMC Yukon Denali in for some oil leaks and many other diagnostics. They checked everything, called me and told me the issues at hand. Then he surprised me, he said the warranty didn't cover any of the issues, however it was still covered under Chevrolet's power train warranty. At that point he assured me that fighting a dealership was worth the cost of repairs. He didn't charge me a dime for any of the inspections done. I hill be going back there for them to handle the manufactures recommended 100,000 mile maintenance. read more

Just got my oil changed by these guys. I had a appointment and my car was completed in a timely manner (less than an hour) they even let me know about a repair that would most likely be coverd by the dealer. Jordan was a joy to work with. And knew what he was talking about. He showed my the maintenance schedule for my car and let me know that I didn't have anything to worry about for at least 3 oil changes. These guys are great they even left a little smiley face on my sticker for my next oils change. It's the little things. I will be coming back for sure. read more

I always have a good experience at Sun Auto. But today was over the top. Today, when the manager told a customer he could not put a non-manufacturer approved oil in his car, the man went off on him. The managers handled it quite professionally. I gave the man a look of disgust and he started in on me. I told him he was disturbing my peace and he continued on with his rant toward me. The manager got his keys, escorted him out and said "you may not speak to our customer that way". So that's the way you win a customer for life. read more

Have been taking my vehicle to dwayne for years. When he moved over to sun auto in georgetown i followed him there. The customer service that i always appreciated with dwayne is still top knoch but what changed the most was the price of my auto repairs. The pricing at sun auto service is so much better. I made a mistake going to Midas Georgetown. I spent $1300 for Valve gaskets and brakes. They messed up on both. I kept having problems so I went to Sun Auto. I've actually gone there before. I will say one thing Sun Auto did the Valve gasket set over and the brakes and I am thoroughly impressed. They did an excellent job and will never hesitate to go back to Sun Auto in the future. I have been going to Sun Auto for at least 6 years and will continue to use them for my automotive needs. The last few times I have been working with Travis. He keeps you well informed on the progress of your vehicle and any problems or issues with your vehicle. He wants the customer to be satisfied. I have read some of the issues with inspections. Amazing service, my ABS light came on and I made an appointment with Sun Auto. I got there and within 10 min the technician performed diagnostic and discover a minor problem, fixed and I was out of there within 60 min. I was not even charged, wow what such honesty. Very disappointed, will never come again. My family brings all 6 cars here but we will not anymore. I went to get an oil change and they swiped my card 6 times and charged me twice (68 dollars). I went up there to get it fixed and was told it was my fault my card was charged twice and if I wanted anything done I would have to call the bank. Very rude and disrespectful. read more

Sun has always provided me with excellent service. They replaced a bad intake manifold gasket that was causing bad problems to my engine. They had to keep it overnight due to ordering a part but provided me with great shuttle service. Over a year later the engine is still running great. They have provided me with other services also and have always done a good job. read more

I had to get my AC repaired and other components to my cooling system. It took some time to figure out all the issues and get them fixed. The employees are friendly and the store manager Travis is very polite and tries to help take care of any issues and concerns.
