I had some issues with my brakes! They were able to determine that I only needed my rear brakes replaced which saved me a load of money! Several other places wanted to do all of the brake components and charge me almost 3 times what I paid! I dropped the car off on Friday afternoon and I picked up the car early on Saturday!! (The front brakes were replaced by the previous ownerlabout one year ago.) read more

This has been our family's car repair place for over 20 years. We've taken all our cars to them. And now my grown children take their cars there too. They are honest, hard working people. And you won't get a better deal anywhere else. They go well above and beyond for their customers. Highly recommend my family and friends to them. Their family has been working on cars and doing an amazing job for a long time. Good down to earth people. read more

Great service! Owner had to go above and beyond to get the correct parts for the repair needed. Very timely and finished at the original time agreed upon when I dropped the car off. read more

I had to get my timing belt put on. It was $2000, but worth it to have my car running again. I only have the one car and so they got it going in just under a week. Have had no issues with the car since. So they took care of the problem and did a really great job. I will definitely be taking my car back for whatever it needs in the future. read more

Sun Auto Repair is a great auto mechanic shop in El Cajon. If you are in need of a good, honest mechanic who doesn't gouge you, this IS THE PLACE. I have been taking my cars here for a long time now. Hui and the rest of the mechanics here are super cool guys. Who respect and treat your car with care. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND these guys to anybody. read more

Well, to first start off. Being a woman and going into a car shop is always very nerve racking. I never know if I'm going to be ripped off or not. My family and myself have been going to sun auto for a very long time, and I have not felt that once. They've always done me well and for the fair price. This morning, I came in for an oil change right at opening time, did not have an appointment. Even though they were fully booked, they were able to squeeze me in before their AM appointment super quick. I appreciated that very much. Second car I've taken to this shop and I'm very impressed. read more

Nothing but great reviews for these guys. Friendly service, fair prices, trustworthy and quality ethical work. I have had three cars serviced by Sun and every interaction was great. It's hard to find an auto shop that you trust and I trust Sun 100%! Thanks Huey and Tuyen. You guys rock! read more

The guys here are great and super reliable. Great customer service compared to most auto shops I've spoken and dealt with. I brought my 1996 Acura in for an oil leak and it took 2 trips to fix because the leak was so bad and oil was everywhere. When they couldn't find it at first, they added a dye, had me drive a few hundred miles and bring it back, and then they were able to fix it no problem. I spoke with multiple mechanics about it before bringing it in and Sun Auto had the best information for me before seeing the car and had the best repair price compared to others. One mechanic even wanted to take apart most of the engine to find it and charge a ridiculous amount for it. They had my car in the shop twice and worked on it for a while, and still beat out everyone else's quotes. Not only that, I had previously been side swiped by an unlicensed driver, which basically pulled the front bumper off the car but left not much other damage. The mountings were mostly destroyed and I had the bumper held in place with gorilla tape. Then while they fixed the oil leak, they also went out of their way to better attach the front bumper so it no longer looks like it's hanging off. They didn't mention fixing it or anything. They just took care of my car while they had it. Thanks guys and I'm coming back shortly for those front end CVs we spoke about and now an alternator too. read more

Look No Further You Just Found The Best Of The Best !! Sun is without a doubt the most talented and ethical mechanic you will ever meet . He's not going to BS you in any way . And he's gonna take excellent care to your vehicle. Sun has had opportunities to tell me I need a service my car does not need in order for him to make extra money off of me . But instead he is honest and saves me hundreds of dollars . We've all been ripped off over and over again . But I assure you that won't happen here . This man has some incredible karma for being a diamond in the rough amongst his competition. Thank you Sun for being the only honest mechanic I've ever met . read more

I have sent my vehicles here and they always took care of me. Just a couple of weeks ago, I told my son to take his car to get the breaks checked because it was making some squeaky noises. They checked it and said that there was nothing wrong with it and charged us nothing. I have no doubt that if it was a different shop, they may have easily said that the pads need to be changed or something so they can make some money. At any rate, this company shows that they are trustworthy and honest. I highly recommend this company to anyone! read more

I was recommend by a good friend of mine about Sun Auto Repair. I must say that this place is great from the knowledge of the employees to how clean this repair shop is compared to the ones that I've been. I came in for a clutch master cylinder install, my original one was on its way out and I already had the replacement part along with the fluid. They quoted me the best price that I was shopping around for, and only took 3.5 hours to complete. Other shops charged me a bit more and double the time to install the part. I would highly recommend Sun Auto Repair to anyone looking for a basic oil change and transmission fluid flush and major transmission repair and engine rebuild. The owner is very friendly along with the staff. read more

Finding a good mechanic is like trying to find a good barber. And these guys know what they're doing. I now know where to bring my cars for any problem from now on. I have brought my car for multiple reasons. From as simply as an oil change, to replacing my alternator, spark plugs, ect. They actually had to take the whole front end off of my car just to get to the alternator. Thank you guys for your hard work, and extremely positive attitudes towards all my problems. read more

Sun Auto Repair - Getting a routine maintenance done, 4th time here. Love the service and friendly atmosphere! - Auto Repair Near Me - El Cajon, California

Before I found Sun Auto, I had taken my car to a local shop near me in north county, because I was hearing strange noises under my car. I was skeptical about their diagnosis because they told me several things were wrong and quoted me a questionably high price. Then, my boyfriend recommended going to his usual spot, Sun Auto. I spoke with Huey and he was extremely friendly and helpful. He immediately assisted me when I came to the shop and quickly serviced my car. I told him what services the other shop was recommending and he said that half of those things were unnecessary, so he saved me from being ripped off!! Sun Auto did an excellent job on my car, it is running flawlessly now. Excellent service, honest staff, & a fair and good price!! I will be coming here for all of my future needs and recommend my friends and family as well. read more

These guys really helped me out and saved me lots of time. I was having trouble with my axle and bushing so I took it in. I didn't have time to order parts but they did it for me. The work would have set me back 3 days due to the lack of tools I had. I was expecting this to be an all week job but the outstanding service of Sun Auto Repair got the job done quickly. I usually do my own oil but they did that for me. I will sure to be back! read more

Seriously, if you're looking for a HONEST and reliable auto mechanic this is where you want to take it too. So my moms been taking her car for a while and I've been taking mine to the dealership. The dealership automatically rips you off let me just put that out there lol. Well, yesterday my car didn't start. Full blown panic mode because I had to get my daughter from school. I called huy and he told me bring it in and they will work on it right away. I called AAA had it towed down there. I called just to let him know it was coming and he told me they had a guy waiting for it. That was at 2:18. My car got there about 2:45ish and they called me at 3:00 to tell me what was wrong with my car ( it was the battery) and gave me a very reasonable price. I was able to pick my car up at 4:10! Seriously?! This is amazing! He even gave me the battery record so if it happens again I can exchange the battery for free. I won't ever go back to the dealership again! Customer for life! Now my whole family goes to sun auto! Seriously don't second thing anything, just do it! read more

Very helpful guys here. They were quick to diagnose the issue with my car. One of the parts needed was pretty pricey from the dealership and they worked to find a comparable one at a lower price. They will be my go to place from now on! read more

I have nothing but good things to say about Sun Auto Repair in El Cajon! Tuyen and his sons are class acts, so honest and very reliable and kind. The mechanics know their stuff! Our car has never run this good and the price to repair it was very reasonable. We will now use them for all of our automotive needs. Thank you for being a quality honest and fast repair shop! read more

As for your comments claiming you show invoices and reciepts, Bryant, the Cal BAR felt otherwise. You couldnt produce them even for them. Be honest, do the repairs that are needed and legit, not ones that are proven unneeded and faulty in quality. Oh, and stop having your friends write false good yelp reviews. Try earning good reviews instead. Good luck in the future read more

!!!TRUSTED & FAIR!!! Sun Auto Repair was recommended to me from a friend who does a/c & muffler work. I have now been bringing my son's '95 Honda here for a couple of years. He got the car used with a lot of miles on it. This family business stands behind their work and doesn't push unnecessary work. I always tell my friends to give them a call to see if they can do the work needed. This from a mom who calls and says "hey, somethings leaking." read more

I have been going to Sun Auto for the past 15 years. Prior to going to Sun, I was burned by a couple of shops, but my first few times taking my cars to Sun Auto put my fears to rest. They are honest and up front, and very nice to deal with. Huey and his Pop are awesome, so much so, that my family now takes their cars to them for service. I have gone in for break jobs, oil changes, engine light issues, car stuttering (thought it was a huge deal, and it turned out to be some bad spark plugs!), bad catalytic converter (and after some research, Huey was right on with his estimate). Anyway, I can't say enough about these guys. I am not afraid to recommend them to friends and family, because they have never failed to treat anyone dishonorably. Rex read more

This is my first time at Sun Auto and tried them out from all the great Yelp reviews. When I first met Huy (pronounced Huey) and after he diagnosed all the problems, he was very nice, very professional and up front with his very reasonable quote. He did a great job with my rear brake drums, replaced the rear shocks and accessory serpentine belt. They also flushed the brake fluid and drained and refilled my coolant. I could have done most of this work myself but he quoted such a good price, I couldn't pass up his offer to save me so much time and effort. Highly recommended and will definitely be back cuz I need him to take a look at the front end issues! read more
