I really liked this place! When I walked in and saw it was "fast casual" - aka order up front and they bring your food out to you - I thought, "oh no, it can't be that good." But, it was!! The food was definitely the highlight of the visit. I had the ham & Gruyère omelette and the million dollar bacon and they were both fantastic. The omelette was perfectly done with just the right ratio of egg to cheese and the bacon was cooked perfectly with this really interesting coating on it. It was sweet and maybe a little too peppery, but nicely sweet and spicy nonetheless. On the downside, the seating area was a little less than totally comfortable so don't choose this place for an extended chat. Also, they were struggling a bit keeping up with coffee and creamer, which is a basic staple for a breakfast place. And, it wasn't 1000% clean, especially the bathrooms. read more

First impressions go a distance and as my first breakfast experience in Nashville goes it made its mark with a SoCal Burrito breakfast. Menus offered a variety of healthy and hearty options and great coffee. Small things sometimes come with big letters and as Project Sunrise sets out to make a "BETTER COFFEE. BETTER WORLD," they find many who rise with the idea. While mostly vacant upon arrival the place packed within half of hour of getting my food. A good vibe from an eclectic crowd surrounds me as I write this review. Space is here for all and there is plenty of it. On my last trip to Nashville we enjoyed a delicious brunch here at Sun and Fork, and if I was in the area I would be eating here quite a bit! I enjoyed a Power Protein Breakfast bowl, fried potatoes, chicken and sautéed greens with a fried egg on top, avocado, and pumpkin seed. It was delicious and filling and exactly what I wanted in a hearty breakfast to keep me full for hours! My husband and I checked this place out for a quick bite after a walk through Centennial Park. Parking does seem like it could be tricky during peak hours but we were lucky enough to grab a spot near the front. The menu offers a good variety of things from plates, wraps and omelettes. We went in for breakfast, so we showed up a little after it opened, and I got an omelette with ham and cheese while my spouse had blueberry pancakes. I had the fruit tea and she had orange juice. Everything tasted so fresh, even the orange juice, which tasted like it does when we go to Pensacola. My dish was delicious and portions were a good size. My wife loved that they had real (not frozen) blueberries in the pancakes, and it was easy to park as we got there relatively early. In town for a long weekend. Found this on Yelp since it was close to the Parthenon. This is owned by the First Watch chain. Basically, you order at the counter, find a table, and they bring your food to you. First, the food was great. Four clean plates for our group. My daughter had a superfoods bowl, Our exchange student and I each had the trifecta( one with waffle and one with pancakes), and my wife had the traditional. No complaints from any of us. Daughter also had a side of the fried potatoes - SO GOOD. Really enjoyed this, and would come here again if we're in the area. I'm not a huge fan of the order/pay first and then sit later concept. It's like restaurant prices for fast food service. That being said, the staff was friendly and the decor is nice. I gave it 4 stars because there were some CONS: The food was luke warm if that when we got it. My husbands sandwich and my waffle was pretty much cold. They give you colors numbers and servers seem to spend a lot of time carrying plates looking for numbers making food get cold. My Other con is my eggs were supposed to be over medium and they were hard/over easy. I'm picky about my eggs. Lastly, no water cups available and then I had to wait in the line again just for a water cup. Anyhow... I give them props. At least they're open. Many pleases were closed today due to an Impending snow storm (which seems mild of that) but I guess feels people out here. I think on a less busy day... I might have gotten 5 stars. read more

Pre-lockdown experience. I'm not well enough versed in First Watch to know the fundamental difference between it and Sun & Fork. I've been to a few First Watches and this seemed identical (makes sense; parent company). I suppose those who know the brand better than I can parse the subtleties. I can't. If you're looking for chain breakfast in West End with little muss and fuss, here you go. That's not an insult; it's a description. Coming here on a Saturday after a holiday, the place was surprisingly empty. I didn't know what to expect but I came here with a bona fide FW celebrity. She walked me through the menu and offerings so that I didn't take up a lot of time looking awkwardly at the menu while the cashier rolled her eyes at me. Yes, the cashier was far from nice, cordial, pleasant, etc. I didn't pay *that* much attention to her because she wasn't my server and, maybe, working a holiday weekend was a pain for her (not an insult; it's an observation). I ordered as quickly as I could so as to stop annoying her (she rolled her eyes, pursed her lips and huffed & puffed; I wasn't imagining her displeasure with the oxygen I breathed). Escaping with our lives, we sat in the plush booth and looked around at the students pouring over books in anticipation for finals. I'm a Vandy alum and would have enjoyed cramming in an environment like this. It's not good for business but it would have made studying that much more enjoyable. Without too much delay, my food and drink order came to the table (remember, there were very few people in the building): a Farmhouse Bowl and chai cider. Well, it was sort of a Farmhouse Bowl. At the time I visited, the bowl had a number for a name but most of the ingredients (bacon, avocado, onions, tomato, and cheese over potatoes) were the same. Likewise, I think my beverage was a seasonal offering. It was Southern sweet but I have no issue with that. And, that's that -- easy chainy breakfast with no muss (a little fuss). I don't know that this would/should be a first choice given all the selections in the general area but students and tourists should be more than enough to keep Sun & Fork busy. We've been so excited to try Sun & Fork since it's just a short walk from our apartment. We came on a Monday for brunch and a woman greeted us at the order counter. Much to my bf's delight, you can mix + match your pancake flavors (just a tip for all the kiddos or kiddos at heart out there). I don't eat out a ton because I am student (i.e., poor), so I am not a "regular" at many places. However, Sun and Fork is literally the one exception. This is my go-to place whenever I don't have time to make myself breakfast. The food is great (I usually go with the Carnitas Rancheros Bowl w/ eggs over medium and ancient grains), and it is inexpensive (bowl + coffee + tip is less than $20). Additionally, it is super quick, and the service is great. The only caveat is I have seen it mobbed at times, as it is clearly a Vanderbilt favorite being so close to campus. Luckily for me, I usually come here in the early morning hours, but for others this is definitely something to be aware of (especially around brunch/lunch).
