While I paid out of pocket, my plumbers suggested that I talk to a public adjuster to see if the damage created would be covered by my home owners insurance. While I had my insurance documentation, I had no idea how to proceed - so I decided to work with AAA Public Adjusters. AAA PA was able to discuss issues with the insurance company, understanding how the issues needed to be addressed to get coverage. They were also versed on understanding that coverage extended beyond just the plumbing, as damage did occur in walls, ceiling, floor, etc. - items that I wouldn't have even thought of. But probably most important to me was that this was a time consuming process, and not having the time to do the follow-up that this would have required, I appreciate the AAA PA team being able to stay on top of this to get the settlement done. The negotiations probably went longer than any of us thought, but AAA PA worked with the Insurance company to get me a settlement - which did mean multiple visits to my house to see the damage to show the insurance company what they were unable to settle over the phone or through emails. I am pleased with the work that AAA Public Adjusters did on my behalf and would suggest them to friends and family in the future.

Negative Stars are not available…read more I recently closed out a claim with Metro Public Adjustment, and based on my experience, I would not hire this company again. The first few weeks went smoothly, but after that the process became extremely frustrating and dragged on for nearly a year. Communication from my assigned adjuster became very limited, and most of the time I was left doing the follow-ups myself. When I asked questions about missing money and delays, I was told it was the insurance company. When I spoke to the insurance company, they said they were waiting on Metro. I spent months stuck in the middle trying to get answers. For the last 4+ months of the claim, I did almost all of the work myself -- including follow-ups, reviewing estimates, checking totals, gathering documentation, and communicating with the insurance company. I repeatedly asked why there was a large amount of money missing from the claim, and after getting vague answers, I ended up finding the discrepancy myself by going through the paperwork line by line. At one point I escalated the situation, and a director got involved and helped push the claim to closure within a few weeks. While I appreciate that step, it does not change the fact that the claim sat unresolved for months while I was doing the work that I hired Metro to do. One fee was waived, but the company still collected the majority of their percentage even though most of the effort, research, and communication was done by me. What makes this even more frustrating is that after doing most of the work myself, I still ended up owing money in fees. It feels like I paid a percentage for someone to collect a check rather than actually represent me. I hired a public adjuster because I was told it would reduce stress and make the process easier. In my case, it did the opposite. The only reason this claim finally closed is that I pushed it forward myself. My honest advice -- stay involved, read your policy, ask questions, and don't assume the adjuster is handling everything. In my situation, I could have saved a significant amount of money by doing the work myself. I would not use this company again.
