Horrible!!!... So we didn't want the heck we went through before. After searching out adjusters from the website we set up a time for each one to come and talk with us. And that happened around that time frame, just as he said. When ever you call Funari Funari calls you back and not days later. When you send emails, emails are answered right away and not days later. We have had a overall great experience with Funari I am blessed to have found them on the internet I HIGHLY recommend the Funari adjusters. Yes... I HIGHLY recommend Funari adjuster... My Mom's house was devastated when a tree fell on it, then it rained 3 days. While our insurance company was responsive, their initial offer was woefully short. Going forward from that would have been very difficult without Funari's assistance. They were helpful, friendly and responsive at every step. The stress dealing with home devastation is bad enough without the worry of being short-changed by the insurer. Public adjusters represent you to the insurance company for a % of the settlement. In our case, we agreed to a % above and beyond what the insurance company already paid. Whether it would have been better to have had representation initially I can't say, but we were satisfied with the outcome. Insurance companies use complicated software called "Xactimate" that supposedly assess your damage precisely but many of the inputs depend on the adjuster's whim. So, the adjuster initially said it would cost $5000 to replace our roof that, in fact cost $11,000 to replace 17 years ago. Then they argued "technology has reduced the cost of a roof over 17 years." So it's key to fight the insurance company with someone who frames estimates in Xactimate. A contractor who just says it'll cost $400,000 to repair without the line by line detail won't move the insurance company. 2 aspects about dealing with large claims are: - the insurer only gives you up front the "depreciated" value of the replacement cost. The balance only paid when property repaired or replaced. Funari helped make the up-front payments as large as possible - insurance contracts have an arbitration process where a 3rd party appraisal resolves your differences w/ the insurance company. Funari helped increase our claim value with this too. We would have never known how to do this ourselves. We ended up doing 30% better with representation even after the fees and would do it again. read more
