We were having trouble with roofing companies trying to get our business by claiming we had hail…read moredamage and encouraging us to submit insurance claims. After inspections, our insurance company denied the claims because there was no hail damage. I learned about Hillis Adjustment Agency when I met Tamara at a real estate continuing education class. She explained that their company works with trusted roofing professionals who would honestly assess our roof and tell us the truth instead of just trying to make a sale. Tamara connected us with David Delac at Zurix Roofing, and we are so thankful she did. David was honest, professional, and trustworthy. He confirmed that the other two roofing companies were not truthful about hail damage. While we ultimately needed a new roof due to age and wear, David gave us an honest assessment without trying to push a false insurance claim and therefore won our business. I would absolutely recommend calling Tamara at Hillis Adjustment Agency to help with your insurance claims if you want guidance from honest professionals who will connect you with the right people and help you avoid companies trying to submit false claims to insurance.

It was effortless and they were on our side. We didn't have to talk to the insurance company at all. Jessica was great. We asked any questions and she was able to answer the best she could and never lied to us. She was at bat for us when we were getting quotes to reconstruct the basement. Everything was handled great from start to finish. I never felt we were lost or out of touch and didn't know what was going on with the whole process. My wife and I were 100% satisfied with them.

I've used Metro Public Adjustment for damage on three occasions and was very happy with the outcome…read moreon all issues. First I had a leaky pipe in the waiting room of my Chiropractic office. I talked to Aaron Stutman, a public adjuster in my business club that worked for Metro and he said he would take a look at the problem. He studied the cause of the leak which was our central drain pipe that had sprung a leak from age and he evaluated damages it caused. He also discovered that a drain pipe from my upstairs bathroom had also caused damage and he ultimately filed both claims as one thus bypassing a second deductible. An expert auditor from the company came and added up the damages. They were professional and did all of the legwork in addition to meeting with the insurance company adjuster. I would not have been inclined to file a claim if it weren't for Aaron and Metro taking care of everything. A second problem I had was my air conditioner downstairs. The pan was rusted and that caused a leak that went all over my cellar. There was damage to the tiles. After the good experience I had with the first leak, I called Aaron again and he looked it over while making no promises. They negotiated again with the insurance company and we made a decent recovery. I again would not have had the time or perseverance to have made a claim on my own and followed through with the paperwork. Aaron and Metro again did all of the work and I just had to sign the check. A third issue I had and by far the most expensive was damage to my roof from wind. I went out the door after one of our recent serious wind storms perhaps related to climate changes only to discover a handful of shingles on my front lawn. I thought I might try to have a few of the shingles replaced, but then remembered that Aaron had mentioned roof repair at one of our meetings. I asked him about it and again he said he couldn't promise anything but that he would look into it. He went up on the roof with our public adjuster after having his own people review the problem and he asked me to get an estimate on the repair. He also suggested including our 2 large sheds in the repair and I agreed that if he could that would be fantastic. One of my patients has a great reputation for quality roof repair so I got an estimate from him and Aaron took it to our insurance company. A short time later, I got a check covering 4/5 of the work. I had the job done, it looks great and Aaron got them to send me another check. At this point I just about broke even and it included both of my sheds. The building looks great and once again they did all of the work. I can't thank Aaron and Metro enough for their professional help.

I didn't believe in Superman--at least not until I hired Leo Yeager after a broken valve in my…read moreattic flooded three floors of my home. From day one, Leo took charge, dealing directly with the insurance company and sparing me countless hours of stress, frustration, and uncertainty. He guided the claim process every step of the way and remained involved for months until the restoration was complete. What impressed me most was that Leo's help went beyond the insurance claim itself. When I had no idea where to begin with the reconstruction, he recommended a builder who did exceptional work and restored my home to a condition even better than before the flood. A major disaster became a manageable process because of Leo's expertise, responsiveness, and advocacy. I can't recommend him highly enough.

We hired Leo as our public adjuster for a complex insurance claim. Leo was the least professional /…read morecompetent service provider I have ever interacted with. He didn't add value to the process (despite his enormous fee), and his negative attitude made an already stressful process even more unpleasant. He failed to live up to any of his customer service promises. Simply stated, I would never hire or recommend him to anyone else, even if his services were free. Leo displayed an alarming lack of understanding/recollection of our claim, missing major items (totaling nearly $100K). He couldn't be bothered to review pictures, claim documents, etc. to identify major missing items--that burden fell entirely to me and my family. Leo was not an effective or eager advocate on our behalf. He was consistently argumentative and demeaning. He reminded us on several occasions that he was "too busy" to keep our claim straight with all of the other things he had going on. To illustrate, below are 2 examples (of many) that show his carelessness and lack of attention to detail. 1) After Leo suggested (based on his "17 years of experience") that we should take the initial (very low) offer from insurance, we asked why there was no allowance for packing/storing all of the contents of our home. He said "that should be in there," but when we pointed out that we didn't see it, he said "oh, insurance must have taken that out--I had asked for it originally." So either Leo asked for it and failed to notice that they mistakenly didn't include it, or he forgot to ask for it but didn't want to tell us that. I'm not sure which is worse, but in either case, there was a very obvious $20K item he missed that was only discovered because we reviewed the 40 page insurance estimate in detail. No apology from him either--it was as if we inconvenienced him by discovering his major oversight. 2) Near the end of the claim, we sent Leo a document with ~15 open items we felt needed to be addressed (including pictures and original receipts). Rather than reviewing the details and thoughtfully responding, he replied that our asks were "frivolous" and "ridiculous" and that he no longer wished to continue representing us (and further demanded his payment in full and threatened with imposing late fees if we didn't pay him, despite the claim not being settled yet). After discontinuing our relationship with Leo, we submitted those same questions directly to the insurance carrier adjuster. After a pleasant 30 minute conversation, they approved 14 of the 15 items (an addl.~$50K). This made it abundantly clear that Leo was the issue all along. He either didn't understand the details of our claim sufficiently, or was an ineffective communicator with our insurer, or was uninterested in investing the extra time it would take to reach the appropriate settlement and just wanted his "cut" so he could move on to the next. If you are thinking of hiring Leo, I would strongly suggest either not hiring a public adjuster at all or hiring someone else. Leo was an expensive, ineffective, and frustrating headache, rather than a competent and knowledgeable advocate who made the process easy and fair.
