This review relates an experience of heaven and hell. So, I guess the question for you will be, is it worth dealing with hell to get to heaven. For me the answer eventually was no.
The only physician I have used at this facility was Dr Michael Parziale. Now I have gone to numerous internists in my life and I can say, hands down that Dr Mike is far and away the best I ever had.
This is a doctor that takes his time with you and listens to what you are saying. His knowledge is superior and his beside manner (as it were) is terrific. Fortunately for myself, I have not had any major health issues in my life and my only experience with Dr Mike are physicals. However, with most of my previous doctors, my physicals were wham-bam thank you maam and see you next year. Dr Mike talks to you, gives a thorough exam and after you leave you feel satisfied. This is the heaven.
The problem is that he works for Summit Medical Group. What that means is that when they build his daily schedule, they don't allow for the extra time he takes with patients. So if you have a 1:30pm appointment, you do handstands if you get seen by 3:00pm. This is assuming you can get a non-emergency appointment within a reasonable time span. Usually they have Dr Mike booked out (for non-emergency) for at least 3 months. Seriously !! Then if there is a billing issue, good luck when you have to deal with corporate medical (Summit Medical Group). I would rather wrestle with a hippopotamus. This is the hell.
Well the hell finally wore me down. I can no longer take to prolonged waits to get an appointment. I can no longer deal with the excessive wait times in the office. I can no longer deal with corporate medical entities. So this year, I will be switching to a new internist. That review will be forthcoming next month. I will say that I rue leaving Dr Michael Parziale. read more
