Warning: I purchased a $50.00 gift card from them for my office manager, who works for me remotely in Asheville, NC. Her gift card doesn't work because they are in the process of switching service providers. It's been frustrating being told the card now works, only for her to take the time to go use it and be told again that it doesn't work. While they are working diligently to get their system up and running, they should allow my office manager to order the food and beverages she wants, up to the amount of his gift card, whenever she wants to use it. In the morning it is quiet and clean. A good spot for a cup of coffee. If you order a cappuccino "for here" you get it in a ceramic mug. What a concept! I feel like if you pay over $5 for a coffee, you should be able to skip the paper and plastic waste. They allow you to bring in outside food. So you can pick up something tasty at Ultra Coffee Bar and eat it here away from the crowds. read more

Summit Coffee is the perfectly convenient stop for coffee while wandering downtown. I'd been to the River Arts District a few times while in the area, so it's sad to see they were hit so badly by Helene. Luckily this location is still around! We stopped in for a morning pick me up before heading to Bebette's - and the Maple Sea Salt Iced Coffee was calling my name. I found it to be a little watered down for my tastes but maybe it's because I'm used to iced americanos, shaken espressos and cold brew. However, the seasonal flavor of the maple sea salt really had me getting into the holiday spirit. The interior is small and intimate with some outdoor seating as well, although it was freezing when we arrived so we were definitely not going to partake. read more

I know Summit is a chain and all but man I freaking love this place. First of all, their coffee slaps. I've been to multiple locations (in other cities too) and have never been disappointed. But the Grove Arcade is my favorite. All the baristas are wicked cool and the drinks are always 11/10. Plus they have a cute wall of Polaroid pics of people's pets that will make you smile while you're waiting for your tasty beverage. read more

The coffee experience was really great! I enjoyed my drink which was ordered half sweet. They nailed it! I forgot to ask what kind of beans they use but it was smooth tasting and non bitter. Was in Asheville for a few days and like I always do I try to find and seek out local coffee shops and stray away from the big name brands (yes I'm talking about you Starbucks). Was at the Pinball Museum and decided to take a break from all of the pinball and video game playing to get some coffee. This place was located less than a block away and I was so excited! The vibe was good and the coffee was even better. I will say the guy taking my order was great but the barista making the coffee looked like he either hates coffee or hates being there or both. Either way I wasn't going to let him ruin my vibe and good coffee. I was visiting from Charleston and was excited to hear that they are planning on opening several Summit Coffee locations in my area soon so win win! read more

Stumbled upon this place as my hubby, in-laws and I were strolling through downtown Asheville. As soon as you walk in, you immediately know this coffee is about to be blazin'! The two baristas (who I thought were also the owners) were super nice and recommended two amazing drinks: the iced rose matcha latte w/oat milk and the blueberry honeysuckle latte. While I technically didn't order my own drink I tasted both and was blown away. The rose matcha latte was AMAZING! I never thought about putting those two flavors together, but it worked. Just a note that the entrance to this place is outside the Grove Arcade. It's small with only a couple of tables inside. I'm guessing most folks get their coffee to go or take inside the Grove Arcade. The coffee is actually pretty good and was piping hot. The service was OK but rather more businesslike. A couple originally from Australia does a review of the Asheville area and gave Summit and High Five Coffee the highest marks if that helps. There is another Summit Coffee located in the River Arts district that is much larger, however, I didn't get a chance to visit it. read more

Pastry was overly sweet and lacking any flavor profile. Three small tables and one bar seat. No "for here" cups so everything is to go. Asked staff for recommendations and got a "it's all good" response, which was a touch frustrating. It's nice when it feels like a barista loves their products and wants to help someone make the best choice. Love this place! Jackson and Kate couldn't have been any friendlier or accommodating of our dog (who was a little anxious!). They brought him a pup cup and treated him like a king. My boyfriend loved his red eye and my Americano was fantastic. I don't like overly sweet coffee and their house made pumpkin spice syrup was incredible!
