    Blue Cicada Tea Set

We did the tea tasting and learned so much about Chinese culture as well as tea. The owner studied extensively in China and continues to directly source. The location is absolutely beautiful and calming as well. We purchased this beautiful tea set for a reasonable price as well. This is a must visit in Asheville.

I took my eldest daughter here for her 19th Birthday this past December. The owners were very nice and created a very relaxing environment. The tea we had was called "Blue People," and was a very delightful herbal tea. They also have many beautiful tea cups, saucers and sets for sale.

My first time in a tea house such as this and it was fantastic. Such a relaxing and calming place to relax or as I did knock out a little bit of work tasks. The staff was very friendly and I wish I had sat at the bar and got educated on the different tea and history. I will be looking for a similar locations in other cities.

I'm always a bit hesitant for asian anything in Asheville but the owner seemed like he was very knowledgeable and respectful towards Chinese tea culture and travels to China to source the tea with other tea enthusiasts who are actually asian. I appreciate that the menu includes which region of China the tea came from. My friend and I ordered a pot of Supreme Jasmine to share which is a white tea base and comes from the province where my family is from (Fujian). They kindly explained to us how long to brew the tea and demonstrated the first pour. I like my tea quite strong and it tasted like home! We also got a matcha tiramisu to share which we thought was not bad but the matcha flavor was not strong enough for our liking. The flower petals on top are a nice aesthetic touch but they dont really add to the flavor of the dish itself and if anything the texture can be a bit off-putting. Our favorite bites were eating it together with the mandarin oranges, so it wouldve been nice to have more slices of them

We were lucky enough to have another visit at the tea bar with Phillip. He is a wealth of knowledge and a delight to engage with while sipping away a wonderful variety of tea. We sampled White tea, Oolong teas, and a most outstanding aged Puhr. They have a steady stream of customers but Phillip is amazingly attentive. We are regular visitors to Asheville and this will be on my list to visit every time. I highly recommend the $15 tea experience. It is a fabulous way to learn and sample a variety of tea cultivar's. I'm so excited for my new health adventure into all things tea!

We stumbled upon this unique store, tea shop, and restaurant when walking down Lexington. The owner travels to China to source teas and offers over a hundred different teas from white, green, oolong, puer, in so many different varieties. They offer tea tastings where we were able to sample different types of teas, learning about the tea culture, tools, and traditions. I'm taking home some favorite teas and a tea set to continue to enjoy at home! This is a great place to stop in if you're interested in tea - the folks here have a lot of knowledge and were enthusiastic about sharing. Check it out if you're in Asheville and looking for a unique experience !

The tea-tasting flight within this gorgeous and tranquil space is a signature Asheville experience that should not be missed.

I remember stepping out of one of those pay to park place and seeing this little shop stick out like a sore thumb. I had to go see what its about I said to myself. Behold, an authentic chinese tea shop! Tea sourced by the owners and his colleagues that are traveling in China to find the best and authentically grown tea to bring back here for us to enjoy and learn about. This place provides an intimate, sensual, and very accommodating for first time tea drinkers, curious minds, and people who understands the fundamental of what makes tea..... well Tea. You won't be disappointed, this was a highlight of my trip in Asheville.

Best vibes and best tea place in town. Chill in the lounge, have some lunch and a pot of tea. Meet great people and low key get hyped on caffeine.

5 stars! I had an absolutely phenomenal time here. As a novice tea drinker I found this place absolutely fascinating and breathtaking. The staff was extremely helpful courteous. I decided to try their educational tea tasting. The tea master that guided me through my tastings was named Philip and he was absolutely wonderful! He was very educated on the subject and you could tell he had a passion for what he was doing. I got to try lots of tea, some I was surprised that I actually liked! At the end of the experience I felt like I had expanded my palette and learned tons of interesting information about tea quality and processing. The teas they have really good quality and you can tell by the taste. If you like teas, and you're in town, you HAVE to come here!

Oh my gosh, the matcha teamisu. Heaven on earth. So yummy. The tea was Blue People Ginseng Oolong. Perfect.

Very relaxing atmosphere. I come here once a month to enjoy the selection of teas and their food selection. Try the Matcha "Tea-misu" - a lovely variation of the classic dessert. Also, lovely and helpful people here too.

I arrived around 5 on a Saturday and it was pretty busy. There is limited seating here but luckily we were able to snag a table right away! There were so many great choices on the menu that I asked our server Diego to recommend me a tea according to my tastes. It took awhile before we got our tea with how busy it was, but it was fine for me since there was so much to look at in this shop! Everything was so beautiful! Diego showed us the correct way to brew our tea when it came out and we sat and enjoyed for awhile. I also got a matcha cream cake and it was delicious. Not too sweet or overwhelming in matcha. If you have time to relax and chill while visiting Asheville, I highly recommend coming here!

It's a great spot to read a book at or come to with a friend. The people who work here are really social and kind. My best friend and I were in town and wanting a little afternoon treat. I personally really liked the traditional chai (it was very strongly spiced but was delish) I also loved the shop/ tea house aesthetic of traditional floor seating in the back and American seating in the front with regular tables. We had shoes off and sat on the floor. The food was delicious too. We got hummus and some other dip I cannot remember the name of. Service was good although our order was kind of messed up and half forgotten (was waiting for our hummus and had to go back up to ask about it). I will say I was pretty frustrated with the sizes of the food given. We got a hummus and only got four small pieces of bread to go with it. We had so much hummus left and no bread that we ended up having to go back up and buy more. I also was given what felt like the equivalent of 3 teaspoons of honey for a whole pot of chai tea. We went up and got more but I just feel like it's a bit stingy / skimpy I'd recommend coming in and checking it out. Next time I'd love to do more research on types of teas as many were unfamiliar to me

I ordered the fancy carrot cake and it was exactly what a classic carrot cake should be. The flavor profile was spot on. Not overly sweet, not bland, just perfectly balanced with that warm spiced carrot cake taste. Paired with a cortado, it made the perfect little caffeine and sweet tooth moment. A great stop if you're wandering around Asheville and want a cozy place to sit with coffee and dessert.

I've purchased many rubs, salts, spices, and sugars from them over the years and all of them have been amazing. I especially like their smoked salts. I like to bake giant chocolate chip cookies and sprinkle them with the smoked salt crystals to give them an extra layer of flavoring. You can taste anything you want such as the salts or sugars or rubs, just ask one of the associates to help you. You can smell anything you like yourself by just opening the jars and taking a nice whiff. Many items come in bags and some come in shakers. If you get something coarse you can ask for a grinder top that goes on your shaker for when you want smaller particles. I love the butchers blend general purpose seasoning for many things. My kids love the cinnamon sugar shaker with a grinder top....the put it on everything and we frequently run out. In addition to salts, spices, and sugars they have a huge tea selection. And before you scoff at the prices, just remember it takes just a tiny amount of these high quality loose leaf teas to make a cup of tea. Teas that you buy in the store are not fresh and are harvested too early, commercialized, and it requires a lot more to get the flavor you want. So these tiny bags of tea really do last a long time. I like to look up ancient tea and herbal blends online and then buy all the components here and make my own teas to try and then adjust the recipes to my liking. They often have some free samples of tea and other items to try hot or cold in the store, just ask. For me this is a store I always stop at when visiting Asheville.
