I was driving through town and thought I would stop by based on their IG account. I love and thoroughly enjoy a perfectly steamed drink with matching latte art. Unfortunately, it seems my drink was handed off from the OG to the newbie. The milk was good, but the art was off. And yes, I am that picky. Came back to try the coffee, since I wanted to try something else outside of the matcha which wasn't my favorite and unfortunately the coffee was still a miss. Farewell is one of my favorite coffee shops right in downtown Asheville. I got the cardamom latte. It was not too sweet and had great flavor. The espresso was smooth. The inside is on the cozy/smaller side. It may be harder to find a seat but if you do, it is a great spot to catch up with friends or study. read more

Absolutely phenomenal coffee. If you're looking for a specialty coffee shop that knows exactly what they are doing, look no further. I stopped in over the Christmas holiday and met Caleb, it could not have been a more pleasant experience. We ordered multiple drinks, cortado, pour over, single origin espresso shot and a peppermint latte, everything was prepared exactly how it's supposed to be and perfectly excellent. Props to all those there doing it right read more

Great atmosphere and very smooth coffee. No bitterness at all. My partner and I appreciated the precision because they measured out each shot (we ordered lattes). Also appreciated where they sourced their coffee. Parking is a little difficult - there are maybe 3-4 spaces next to the store so you'll have to do some searching for street parking around. read more

Great little coffee shop in Asheville. We stopped in while passing through town. There were a few parking spots out front as well as plenty of street parking. We ordered a drip coffee and and oat milk cappuccino. Both were delicious! There were delicious looking pastries displayed, but we only grabbed coffee. read more

I think this is my favorite Asheville coffee shop. Fantastic coffee, great shop atmosphere. I love that the large windows are open while the weather is nice. The baristas are all really friendly and cool. Again, the coffee is top notch and FREE REFILES on drip coffee! $4! I don't know of another shop in Asheville doing that. read more

This is such a cute coffee shop in a really great area of Asheville. I recommend checking this place out. The staff is incredibly friendly. Not to mention, the baristas are very talented - you can see them put care into each drink they make. Clearly, the drinks are beautiful as well as tasty. I should mention that the shop also carries VERY cute merchandise (shirts, bags, etc). The bakery items are to die for. I have traveled to France, and I'm embarrassed to say that this croissant may have been the best I've ever had. You are definitely paying for quality and aesthetics when you come here - and it is on the pricey side as far as coffee shops go... but believe me, I found it to be completely worth it. read more

Beautiful minimalist hygge vibes even down to their coffee menu. The space is bright and inviting, there's even a nook of kids books for adults who bring their littles out. There's a handful of tables inside and outside even so it can get crowded fast. There's not an overwhelming amount of options but what they do have is done exquisitely. I typically get the matcha latte and the quiche. The matcha latte is my favorite in town but the mocha is good as well. Even though I typically order the quiche the pastries are lovely too. I went 3 times in one long weekend while visiting Asheville. This is a multi-roaster coffee shop that changes all of it's coffee offerings pretty regularly seemingly, including the drip and espresso. The coffee is all from small roasters, and is definitely specialty. When I was there, they had a lot from Brooklyn, but also had a couple of coffees from regional coffee roasters. The coffees were very good, even if not outstanding, but there are few shops that offer this kind of variety, which is a huge plus. The highlight was being able to try an anaerobic fermentation coffee they had as iced coffee. I've only experienced a couple coffees like this, and never as iced coffee, so big props for a unique experience. Note, they serve iced coffee, not cold brew. They take extreme care in brewing the coffees properly, and everything I tried was very well made. It is a beautiful place and I would sit there forever if not for COVID. And there were a lot of people seated while I was there...50% of capacity is actually about as full as coffee shops usually get anyway, so that is a good number of people. But they have an enormous window open most times too. I didn't try food, or anything else. Offering beyond coffee is limited. read more

I wanted to like this place, but it's not for me. I think it is just too hipster for my vibe. It's very cute & in a great location, practically in my neighborhood. I love the nice quality cups and plates. I am a coffee person and I can get into a minimalist menu that focuses on quality over options. However, the food in the case looked wilted at 11am with cheese & ham at room temperature during the summer. My mocha did not taste like chocolate. I don't like my mocha's too sweet so that was not the issue. I just couldn't taste any chocolate. It tasted like a slightly sweet latte. I doubt I'll ever go back, but if a friend drags me there I will probably order something very straightforward like a cappuccino. If you love the sarcastic/ironic vibe and are more into things looking cool and tasting good you might enjoy this place. read more

My wife and I love going because the place is awesome and the coffee is always new and different but also because there is a table next to a tiny kids area that my 1 year old loves to play with. Espresso 10/10. And it changes often. There are only a few premier coffee shops in Asheville. This is definitely the leader. And it has natural wine. And long hours. I mean what else do you want. The bartender was friendly, and although it was quiet when we visited, it made for a relaxing place to unwind. We'll definitely stop back the next time we're in Asheville. If you're looking for a laid-back spot with good cocktails and friendly service, this is worth checking out.

Fresh and airy space. Plenty of natural light and bright walls. Very visually appealing. Definitely can get awesome insta worthy shots here. This was our first time visiting this coffee shop. We were very excited to try. But alas, our first impression was brought to a low bar by the person that was working behind the counter today. (She had light brown hair, tattoos and shaggy bangs) just for the sake of identifying because we did not see a name tag. Her entire body language, vibe and aura was very hostile and off putting. I always try to be polite and accepting to everyone. And I understand that people have bad days. But there's a difference between being down and being aggressive. (Nonchalantly flicking change at costumers, impatient tone and body language. Just over all hostile vibe) Very sad to say this out a damper on our first impression of the place. Could this mean a permanent farewell to Farewell? I think so. read more

The space is really gorgeous and comforting. They work with local producers for their food. Best of all, of course, is the incredible coffee. The baristas really know what they are doing and care about the cup they are giving you. I saw them carefully timing the espressos. The roaster lineup is exceptional. The hardest part is leaving and not ordering a second, or in some cases, third drink! read more

They get their bagels from a local bagel joint called Joey's; and you can add butter, cream cheese, or make it a sandwich! They also have baked goods, I particularly love the seasonal pumpkin chocolate chip muffin. They have a large selection of local art on display at all times, available for sale! This ranges from stickers, to prints, to paintings. I've gotten a few things from my house here. They recently added a calendar of monthly events.
