It had all the requisite elements of a St. Patrick's Day celebration - Irish flair, and a lively crowd. The festival covered a good portion of Rock Rose Avenue. The festival transformed the area into a sea of St. Patrick's Day patrons - green tops, green pants, green accessories and of course, green beer. A live band was the focal point of the celebration playing country to rock and roll to popular music. One of the festival's appealing points was its large scale and enthusiastic crowd. Multiple bars and venues participated with the festival. Live music and bagpipes drew you in from one end of the festival to the other. While the festival started at 8 am and last to 10 pm, we arrived at 9 pm. The festival was $20 not matter what time you arrived. Going forward, they should consider sliding scale pricing. It seems small on the outside, however, once you step foot inside you will see that it is a large and accommodating venue. All of our guests remarked on what an amazing venue we had chosen for our poster show. Lena was incredibly easy to work with - she was so flexible, accommodating, friendly and communicative, which made my job way easier! Lena went above and beyond to help ensure our event went as smoothly as possible. I can't say enough good things and cannot wait to book this space again for future events.

Best week of my life!! I always wanted to live in Austin and attend SXSW and this year I made it a…read morereality. Everything I hoped for and more! The whole city just comes alive with pop ups, activations, live concerts, comedy shows, block parties, and more fun, all in addition to the actual official SXSW conference. I attended the full conference with the platinum badge which was incredible. I was able to attend 16 sessions and scoot around town from hotel ballroom to hotel ballroom for 7 days straight. Since I live nearby, I scooted to my starting point each day and never dealt with traffic or parking. So many roads are closed and there are detours, so I really recommend ubering/walking etc. There are so many fun things happening and how cool to have 300k people in town where we are lucky enough to live! SO many great local businesses partner with big brands, and it really was a dream event to attend. Can't wait for next year!

This track and soccer stadium is big. This is an open to the sky seating stadium. It was brutal in the Texas sun, heat, and humidity. Fortunately, free water was available to everyone. Best of all, EMS service was giving free cold iced towel to everyone. Anyone can return to get fresh iced towel. Man, that iced towel hitted the spot and saved me and family members from heat stroke. I had one around my neck and on top of my head under baseball cap. Almost everyone in the stadium was doing the same. Bathrooms were relatively clean for such high density usage. Security was tight, which was a relief in a full stadium. There were police patrols everywhere. Parking was $15 in the adjacent parking lot, credit or debit payment via smart phone only. All the fans were polite and kind. No drama or dangerous situation occured. Over all, everyone there had a wonderful time. For my family, it was great catching up with families from all part of Texas.

And it was an amazing experience. Every seat in the stadium provided a great view of the races and events. All of the schools were competitive and they are so fast in person. It's consists of a main house and a few smaller buildings on a lovely landscaped property that is fenced off and almost park-like. To be frank (not a pun) there is not much to see here. You can go inside the house and appreciate the 1800s furnishings and way of life, and stroll the shady grounds, but all that might take less than an hour. But if you go during events like Bastille Day when there are activities like playing petanque on the lawn, you'll find the place more lively. Regardless of when you visit there's a small dedicated parking lot attached which is welcome, and inexpensive metered street parking if the lot is full. The museum and grounds are an immaculately preserved oasis of green in East Austin very close to downtown.
