At the venue, fans can have a close up experience with the Rollergirls and are able to get play by play commentary from the M.C. There really isn't a bad seat in this venue. The guests who sit downstairs sit on bleachers. Additionally, there are members walking around with signs to explain the derby game to those who have never been to an event. All around amazing experience.

We arrived late...apparently before the first match starts the MCs explain the rules-note: will have to be on time for next "match" (is that what they're're called?) - no "bouts." That's it. These gals take the sport seriously while at the same time showing great respect for members of the other teams. One big happy family! Player names like "Bloody Mary" (she rocked BTW!), "Lucille Brawl," and "Babe Ruthless" only add to the whimsical, yet ass-kicking, environment. Everybody there, from other spectators to team players, were so friendly. While we were sitting there, one of the players from a team in Bout 1 even came up, introduced herself, asked if we were having fun, and thanked us for coming! The teams also invited the crowd to attend the after party with them (Jackolope's on 6th)...which we did for a bit. If you've never been before at least go once to check it out. Apparently, Texas Rollergirls was the #2 league in the U.S. for 2013. Good times! p.s. THANKS to @YelpAustin team we had comp tix to sit in VIP section! Thank you, thank you! Awesome! There were waitstaff in that area who took drink orders during the event. Didn't even have to wait in line for a beer! BONUS!

Overall: 3.7/5…read more Moody Center is easy to get to and there were no long lines getting in or out. We always walk/scooter there to avoid the parking situation which has worked well for us. There were lots of food vendors all around which was a nice but they're mostly unhealthy food (pizza, burgers, fries, nachos). The only downside was that the sound system was not that great. Drinks are overpriced as expected at a venue like this and food prices are also on the higher side, though not as bad as the drinks. Hoop Tea ($14.75): A lightly spiked iced tea but it was enough to hold us through the entire concert. We went to Chick-fil-A one time and Stubb's Bar-B-Q another. At Stubb's we split the ATX Burger ($16) and onion rings ($8) and both were pretty darn good. The burger came with crispy chips but the onion rings were the real winner.

Always a fun experience and definitely one of the best places in Austin to catch live music.

Attended an Austin FC on a Saturday night…read more The good: * The stadium is pretty awesome and a cool design. They offer some great views of the action on the field. The chairs are designed to not be hot, which worked. * It was a breeze to get in the stadium, even with the Seatgeek app not being easy to use. The ticket takers said they have issues with the Seatgeek app all of the time and just waved us in. * The food options are unique and local. Sure, they were a bit pricey but so is a hot dog at Cowboys Stadium. It was nice to have the local restaurant options in a pro sports stadium. The bad: * Parking situation was not thought through by stadium mgmt. They were way understaffed for fans with parking passes, which made getting into the parking lots take forever. * The food options were good, but the quality of the food was subpar. They need to use the cooks/staff from those restaurants (not hospitality workers from Levy) to prepare & serve the food - as then it will match the quality expected. * The games start so late (8pm) due to heat that a lot of the crowd started to leave midway through the second half. * They are overcharging for their tickets. I get this is their inaugural year, but the prices were much higher than what you would pay at another, comparable pro sporting event. The seats they listed for sale, that I guess did not sell to season ticket holders, had crazy high face values like $350+. They need to charge a reasonable price to attend, if they want fans to come out multiple times per year. * I hate to complain about the action on the field, but I hope the owners get serious about getting some players who will help the team score goals and be competitive. I will go back and think they are on verge of a good thing - but they need to get some of these issues cleaned up to make this team a mainstay in Austin.

This track and soccer stadium is big. This is an open to the sky seating stadium. It was brutal in the Texas sun, heat, and humidity. Fortunately, free water was available to everyone. Best of all, EMS service was giving free cold iced towel to everyone. Anyone can return to get fresh iced towel. Man, that iced towel hitted the spot and saved me and family members from heat stroke. I had one around my neck and on top of my head under baseball cap. Almost everyone in the stadium was doing the same. Bathrooms were relatively clean for such high density usage. Security was tight, which was a relief in a full stadium. There were police patrols everywhere. Parking was $15 in the adjacent parking lot, credit or debit payment via smart phone only. All the fans were polite and kind. No drama or dangerous situation occured. Over all, everyone there had a wonderful time. For my family, it was great catching up with families from all part of Texas.

And it was an amazing experience. Every seat in the stadium provided a great view of the races and events. All of the schools were competitive and they are so fast in person. The rink itself is old and cracked. Most of the arcade games do not even work. No issues with the service but the facility is extremely run down and just feels sad. It could really use a deep cleaning and some serious sprucing up. That said, everyone else there seemed to be having fun so maybe none of this matters to most people. In any case, not for me.

Parking in lots and garages is limited, but there is some free street parking (yes! Biggest shock of my life!). We were very early seeing as how parking was so easy and the gates were still locked. After a few minutes the gates were unlocked and we were inside. We started by stocking up on gear. We found the athletic store, grabbed a hat and scarf and moved on to the snacks. The grab and go was perfect. We got hotdogs and popcorn and drinks, placed them on the reader and paid. The attendants were very nice and helpful. Since it was raining and the seats were wet, we were told we could sit up in the dry seats while we waited out the rain. The wet seats weren't bad until that 60 degrees started to feel really chilly. As they say, there's not a bad seat in the house. Definitely looking forward to coming back for more games!

The game time had been changed three times due to weather so we weren't sure if we'd even get to watch the game against the UC Davis Aggies. The good: Stadium is small so there really are no bad seats. Food and beverage prices are reasonable and happy hour prices prior to the national anthem being played unless you buy a Longhorn yeti cup, then you pay the premium. The bad(ish): Parking. It's weird trying to find a spot, we ended up parking on the street for free, so I don't know if it's really a bad. The crowd was pretty chill with the exception of some kids going nuts, but that was a lot of fun to watch. Overall, we enjoyed the game and the stadium. We can't wait to return for some SEC conference games.

Let me start with the $20 parking fee, that hurts. Then it's a really long walk to the carnival entrance, another $10 for access to the fairground, and then another however much for rides. During spring break it was $25 for kids during the day (half off) and the make you pay extra for the paper wristband so $27. So you're already $67 in and haven't even done anything yet. The carnival looks old, all the kids ride are just old old old. And most of them your toddler can't ride unless you're with him, so buy another wristband for yourself! And the people working it look like they wish they could be anywhere but there. The food was normal carnival food but extra gross. And expensive. Overall we had a good time because our kids don't know any different, and we love to dress up and go to rodeo. The petting zoo was a cute attraction for the kids, and we love walking the exposition hall. Is it the best rodeo? No. Could it use a good upgrade for the price? Yes. Will I go again next year because that's all we got? Yes.

The amount of events was astounding, though, you do feel a little bad for the little cattle getting wrestled or roped to the ground. Alas, life of a cowboy! The carnival & fair are nice - just your old basic fair with big stuffed animals, hard-to-win games, rides with questionable safety factors, and artery clogging foods. Was it a good experience? Yes. Would I go again? This was probably a one time thing for me.
