Okay... I get the hype! First time at Summer Moon Coffee and I'm officially obsessed! The Matcha Moon Latte was so good; creamy, smooth, perfectly sweet, and just the right amount of matcha. I'm convinced their Moon Milk is the secret sauce because it really takes this latte to another level! The ambiance is just as cute as the drinks. It's a small, cozy coffee shop with a really relaxed atmosphere, games you can play while hanging out, and plenty of cute little spots that are basically made for an Instagram photo. Definitely feels like a place you could easily spend some time catching up with friends or getting some work done. It was a busy Sunday morning with a pretty long wait, but the line moved along quickly. The staff were friendly and everyone was hustling at their ordering stations, so the wait didn't feel too painful. Funny little moment: they somehow got my name wrong, so we were trying to figure out where my drinks were... only to discover they had been made under my alter ego, Allie Now I'm excited to work my way through the rest of their menu because there are SO many drinks I want to try. But let's be honest... there's a very good chance I'll just order the Matcha Moon Latte again. Definitely a new coffee shop favorite! read more

I could go to Summer Moon every single day and not get tired of it! I live a good distance from Summer Moon and have been there four times in the past month. First of all, I am obsessed with the space itself. The sleek navy blue and white hexagonal tiles, exposed brick wall, and gold decor touches give the coffee shop a modern industrial chic vibe. There is ample seating, with tables for two, larger groups, as well as plush lounge chairs. The staff at the counter are very friendly and informative. The first time I visited, I did not understand the moon concept. They kindly explained that Moon Milk is their blend of an ultra-creamy sweet cream mixture used in place of typical dairy options in their drinks. There is a poster by the menu that explains the ratio of Moon Milk to expresso in each drink. The staff was very patient each time I went with someone new, to explain this. Alright, time for the drinks and food. The cold brew is bold and smooth in flavor. My parents have had the Mocha Moon Latte and said it is absolutely delicious. My boyfriend, his uncle and I all ordered the iced S'mores latte another time and loved it. The ham and cheese croissant was a yummy savory option if you are looking to grab a bite to eat. Continuing my coffee shop quest, this weekend's choice was Summer Moon Coffee. At first, I noticed people standing outside so was concerned it was that packed! Shop was super busy on a rainy Saturday morning. They had both tables and comfy seats. My husband spotted some spots so I went in line to place our order. I got a cold brew and it was awesome. Very smooth and flavorful. The shop was pretty noisy so if you are looking to do some work or study, this may not be the spot for you. They also offer a drive through if that is your preferred way of getting coffee. read more

I made the mistake of parking in the small lot right in front of the business and it was a bit different to get out, so I dont recommend parking there. Once you get inside, you see a nice work space with a very clean look to it. The staff was super nice and friendly. The service was pretty quick too. I had two drinks from here. The quarter winter moon and the quad moon shaker. I prefer a more coffee tasting coffee more often than not. I know others prefer theirs sweeter. The quarter winter moon was okay. The quad moon shaker was much better for me. There were a lot of items on the menu that caught my eye, but I'm good with the quad shaker. I think it's a nice place to work and sip on some coffee. It all comes down to preference. If you prefer a sweeter or milkier place this spot is definitely for you. read more

Finally was able to stop by to check it out! And i live close by. For a rainy day, it was pretty busy in there. I love that there's a lot of space inside....including a little fireplace by the front. You can go and catch up with friends or just go to do some work. There's books & games available. I also love that there's merch as well! The menu has different varieties of drinks to choose from & it works! It isn't too overwhelming. I went with the Moon Shaken, which I chose quad espresso with moon milk....over ice. It was perfect!! Ohhh I LOOOOVE Summer Moon. This is a great addition to Wheaton area. The space is sophisticated and beautiful. Not too casual and not too fancy. It's a great spot for a coffee catch up with a friend or bring your laptop, book, etc, and stay for a while. I stopped in on a Friday around 1:30pm and it was busy. Staff members were friendly and did a great job of keeping up with in person orders as well as mobile orders. The first time I went in I tried a seasonal drink, blueberry coconut matcha latte and it was tasty! A little too sweet for me, but looking at the name.. I should have known better, it clearly sounds like a drink that will be on the sweeter side. I had a few sips of my husband's vanilla bee chai latte and I enjoyed that too. Again, a little too sweet, but with the added vanilla - obviously that would be the case. The 2nd time I came in (2 days in a row) I tried the 1/4 winter moon latte. This latte is absolute perfection. Sweet and not overly sweet, creamy, and oh so delicious. I will probably try the 1/8 latte as well and decide which will be my go to. read more

What a great addition to the Wheaton area! Located near the Danada shopping center, this is the perfect coffee spot to grab a drink on the go, catch up with friends, or work remote. The inside aesthetic directly aligns with their other locations I've visited but feels a lot more open and airy. There's a good amount of seating inside and this location even offers a drive thru! When visiting, I tried the Banana Nut Muffin and featured Blueberry Crisp Latte. The latte had really good flavor and was the perfect temperature. Their signature "moon milk" does add a hood flavor to the drink making it richer and frothy. The Banana Nut Muffin was a good size, they were kind to warm it up for me, and give me butter on the side. Staff were kind, good at explaining the menu, and making recommendations. It was very busy but staff was pumping out drinks so the wait wasn't too long. Definitely give this new Summer Moon location a try! read more

RUN don't walk to Summer Moon Coffee. I first discovered this gem in South Carolina, having experienced the best iced mocha of my life and became an instant fan girlie. Oak roasted coffee?! Who knew?! Once I got home to the land of Lincoln, that mocha lived in my head, rent free. I had (and DID) drive to KENOSHA WI or McHenry IL as they were the closest locations. Yes, I drove that far for coffee. It's THAT GOOD. Now the coffee gods have smiled upon us my friends. You don't have to journey for the best coffee around--it's right in our neck of the woods. Really cute spot inside! I saw they were newly opened and decided to check it out. They even have their own merch by the ordering area, which was a nice touch. I also liked that they offer games if you want to hang out, plus a mini library--it gives the place a cozy, welcoming vibe. Everything looked clean and well put together. I ordered a decaf iced Summer Moon latte (lavender with another flavor), which was just okay--not bad, but nothing super memorable. I also got an everything bagel with cream cheese, toasted, and that was also just okay. Service was quick, and everything came out pretty fast, which I appreciated. Summer Moon never disappoints! Both locations (old town and now, Mays) are amazing, the staff is incredible, and of course, the Moon Milk coffee is the best... no matter how much we all tried to copy the Moon milk at home, there is nothing like having it in person, made from the real deal. I have to say hanging out at their newest location is most fun no or preferred. The size is quite significant compared to the one in old town. There are many more places to hang out with peers, work on your laptop, chat with a friend, seating options... Including the outside area. So, if I had to choose for the sake of high ceilings, fresh air, and just a lot more elbow room (or feeling like I'm at the silo in Waco, Texas)...I would choose the location on May. I don't know why I was skeptical the first time I dropped by Summer Moon right after it opened - maybe it was lack of familiarity with the brand; maybe it was the crazy line; who knows, maybe I was just moody that day lol. All reservations about SM and any skepticism I experienced day one has been completely removed and replaced with admiration and I genuinely love going there now. The baristas are professional and warm. Even visits during busy times elicit a smile, a welcome, and a good ordering experience. Another thing that stands out - it's clean. Every time. It's a pleasant place to work solo or with my team too. There is a really chill vibe, for lack of more interesting description, and it really is a great place to chill and get some work done. I finally got around to trying our local Summer Moon. I've been to one in Wisconsin, so I was glad to see one here. The parking lot is spacious, and the interior looks very nice. I like that they list the calories on the menu, as their "moon milk" adds a lot of calories. I ordered a nitro brew with "moon juice", which added a hint of sweetness without an overload of calories. The foam was satisfying and the drink tasted pretty good. Service was friendly. Pricing was okay, but all coffee shops seem expensive nowadays. read more

I wish my cell phone hadn't died when my husband and I tried this place so we could have posted pictures! I ordered their iced 1/2 winter moon latte and YUM! Delish! It's very delicious and extremely smooth. My husband ordered their raspberry refresher and also enjoyed his a lot. The options are pretty similar to Starbucks, and they even sell their own coffee. I'm wondering if they hired some ex Starbucks employees because in the drive thru, they ask similarly as well to take your order lol. I do wish there was just a little bit more originality. We also ordered their ham and cheese croissant. The croissant itself was a 10/10! Flaky, delicious, but there was barely any filling in it. The ratio was very far off so that's something they should work on improving. Next time I'd just order the regular croissant. Their pup cups though are great! They give you a little dog treat in the cup with the whipped cream. Our dogs were so happy stopping here right after their vet appointment. This isn't a place I'd personally go out of my way for, but, if we're shopping in that area we'd definitely swing by! read more

So glad Summer Moon has opened nearby! I stopped by during the soft launch and the staff was wonderful! They gave suggestions and explained their offerings and the differences in their coffee roasts. I was impressed for a soft launch and training week. I ordered the Blue moon and it was PERFECTION the coffee is smooth and it had just the right amount of lavender. The decor is lovely, if you loved caribou coffee back in the day, this feels like the modern lake house version. This place is brand new and has excellent coffee!! It has a very unique oak roasted taste and they are famous for their special moon milk. I had the half moon latte and it was perfection. They have fun, creative drinks in addition to standard coffee options. The place is SPACIOUS with a ton of indoor seating in addition to a drive thru. We went on Saturday morning and it was insanely busy. I'm assuming because it's new it'll continue to be busy. I'd recommend going during off hours to avoid the line. Otherwise, it is worth it!
