It's not easy these days to scratch the surface and uncover the old Texas but places like Owens are testements to traditions we have in this country of formally and with great respect,seeing our friends and loved ones on to the next stop. Three generations of Owens have tended to four generations of my families funerals. These include my great great grand father, his son my great great grandfather, great grandfather, grand father and grand mother and the recent passing of my younger sister. The funeral home has now been bought by a larger Dallas corporation signaling the end to generations of tradition in many families going back to the pioneers. I'll miss these small town traditions. But, nothing more could be expected of Owens and the long envyable record of professional undertaking they established.
