The first time I went in a week ago, I got a mani/pedi and when I got home I wasn't in love with it (service was amazing, just the manicure wasn't quite right) I ended up speaking with the manager about my concerns of not being 100% satisfied and she told me to come in whenever and they would fix everything, free of charge, no problems. I was going to wait a little longer to go in to fix it but the paint started chipping and I didn't want to deal with it for a whole week so I ended up calling to see if they had availability last minute. They told me to come right down and took care of me right away. My nails look amazing and I left feeling beautiful. United Nails Plus has THE BEST STAFF, highly recommend. Side note: they play movies instead of TV so you don't get stuck watching some ridiculous reality TV show or some random channel that seems to only play infomercials. Super plus.

I had one of the men do my pedicure and he gave a fantastic massage and did a stellar job on my clean up/polish. The experience started badly when I was shown to a foot spa that was still full of dirt and nail clippings from the previous customer. I had to wait while it was cleaned before my appointment could even begin. The salon itself appeared unclean. There were cotton buds, cotton wool, and other debris visible on the floor and in the corners. The atmosphere was uncomfortable, and throughout our visit none of the staff were welcoming or friendly. We were barely spoken to, and unlike many salons, there wasn't even a simple offer of a bottle of water. Another thing that stood out was the lack of proper equipment. Instead of using standard foam toe separators before applying the nail polish, the staff simply stuffed pieces of tissue paper between our toes. I've had many pedicures over the years and have never seen a salon do this. My granddaughter's pedicure was also smudged and had to be redone on one of her toes. The most upsetting part happened after we paid. The total came to $125 for two adult pedicures and one child's pedicure. As we were leaving, an older staff member came running outside shouting, "No tips? No tips?" in front of everyone in the salon. My daughter politely explained that we were unhappy with the service. Instead of listening, he became angry, shouted at us, and even used the F-word in front of our 9-year-old granddaughter. No customer should ever be treated that way. One more thing we noticed was a sign in the salon offering customers a $10 voucher in exchange for leaving a five-star Google review. That made us question how many of the glowing reviews genuinely reflect customers' experiences. We cannot recommend this salon. Between the lack of cleanliness, poor customer service, unprofessional practices, rude treatment, and the aggressive confrontation over tipping, this was one of the worst salon experiences we've ever had. Cindy's Nail Salon is by appointment only, and they take COVID precautions very seriously even after many places started reopening for fully vaccinated customers, they refuse walk-ins and require you to wear your mask the entire time, which I don't have a problem with. I inquired about a acrylic fill and gel polish on the phone, and the woman quoted me $37 and up, depending on the design. I had a basic acrylic fill and solid, one color gel polish and Cindy charged me $45, which she did a bad job rationalizing saying that I didn't get my nails done there originally, that's why it was more expensive. For what reason, I'm still not sure. It's not like she had to file or sculpt the nails anymore than a regular fill set. Most importantly, when I sat down to get my nails done, Cindy's daughter came over to me and told me that their credit card machine was down. I luckily had enough cash on me to cover the amount plus the tip, but when I returned a few days later to have one of my nails fixed because the polish started peeling, they had a handwritten sign stating that their machine was down. I'm sorry but that's just bad business and no excuse in today's day and age. There are countless other payment methods- Venmo, PayPal, Apple Pay, Square Space, Cash App to name a few. It is purely shady and really made me feel like they're most likely not going to report the amount of money they're making honestly. So worst of all, and my reason for the one star is that my manicure- as expensive as it was, is chipped and peeling all over the place. Cindy had put nail glue underneath some of my fingernails and it was completely irritating- I've never had a nail salon do that. She basically glued the tips of my fingers. Needless to say all of my nails are chipped and peeling from the tips. She claimed that my thumb was peeling because it never dried... but she never applied a base gel coat to my nails and I felt Cindy was rushing in the drying process. Getting my nails done was not relaxing at all. She just wants to get you in and out and instructs you to put your hand in and out of the gel UV machine- in a harsh, hurried tone of voice. Not to mention she loves talking about how many people they refuse service to because they weren't respectful of their COVID precautions. Definitely will never be returning and I'm quite honestly surprised how they have lasted there for 16 years.
