He informed me about ICL Surgery, which I was a candidate for and would correct my eyesight and remove the need for contacts. It is slightly more invasive and time intensive than LASIK, however Dr. Sheth and team made me feel comfortable prior to, during and post-surgery. 2-3 months since and I am still doing great with no complications. Dr. Sheth is only a text away if something does come up, which makes me feel secure, given I live in NYC over 4 hours away from his office. My only criticism is in-line with other reviews regarding wait times, but it was only an issue a few times and shouldn't deter those looking for a strong surgeon from a consultation. Thanks Dr. Sheth & team for giving me a solution where others could not.

Upon arrival for my appointment, they informed me that they are out of network for VSP. I mentioned that the person that scheduled my appointment assured me that they take VSP, they said then said that they do. They told me to pay for the appointment then and they would give me a receipt that could be submitted to VSP and VSP might reimburse some portion of the visit. Obviously, they are out of network and don't take VSP. What a waste of time. Not fun getting jerked around either...

I am extremely THRILLED with the results of my ICL (Implantable Contact Lenses (Visian ICLs))!!!!…read more I had never heard of this procedure before seeing Dr. Sheth, but he explained all of the options. I was not a candidate for lasik beacuse my cornea wasn't thick enough but could choose either PRK or ICL. It is scary to think that another doctor at a different lasik center had said I could do lasik, because it could have damaged my eyes and I never would have known the difference had I not sought a second opinion. Anyway, ICL is a procedure in which permanent lenses are implanted in your eyes through tiny incisions. It is great because it does not change the shape of your eye and the lenses can be removed if they ever needed to be. I started to see almost immediately. I could drive by day 2! The recovery is very easy - you just wear a shield over your eye to bed and put in drops. It was much better than what I heard my friends who had PRK had to go through. The procedure doesn't hurt and Dr. Sheth and everyone at the Sheth-Horsley Eye Center were great! Dr. Sheth explained what he was doing and made the surgery quick and smooth. I would recommend this procedure to anyone who is tired of wearing glasses or contacts! I now have better that 20/20 vision and am so glad to trusted Dr. Sheth with my eyes!!!!!!

While this surgeon is good at what he does it does not excuse the way he talks to his patients he…read moretalks at them not to them .. My father is 89 years with diabetes wears hearing aides but has all his faculties lives on his own and still drives. He had a cornea transplant surgery done a few days ago not only did we have to wait over 4 hours to even have the surgery but the procedure it self took over two and a half hours ....,keep in mind my father could not have his hearing aids in for the procedure......when the surgeon came out and spoke with me he said boy your father became very figidy on the table and he even had to go to the bathroom in the middle of the procedure I am not sure the procedure will even be a success .... As we were leaving he spoke harshly to my father again stating "why did you move so much the transplant may not take now ".....when I talk to my father he said boy was he mad at me he kept yelling at me don't move and why are you moving your ruining my work my dad said I wasn't even aware I was moving .....Well here's where I have a problem with all of this if you were so concerned about my father moving would it have not been a better idea to maybe lightly sedate him and also take into consideration he is. 89 and didn't have his hearing aids in so he is likely not able to hear you well and perhaps you should have something that steadies the head during the surgery.......fast forward to the next day the f/u office appointment the doctor was examining his eye and again became very upset because the transplant did not look how it should he then said to my dad in a condescending way I told you to lay flat on on your back at home did you even do that my dad said yes I did exactly what you told me.. The doctor then stated I need to put another air bubble in your eye to hopefully save the transplant you will have to lye flat for an hour before you leave here.....The office was also very outdated and not supplied well and short staffed on all Visits. He also spoke very gruffly to his assistants ... we came back the next morning and my dads eye patch was on a little crooked because it had slid down he then once again spoke very condescendingly to my father saying this is not the way you wear the eyepatch it's all on wrong he then abruptly removed and replaced it.....in the end the cornea was in place and beginning to heal ...while I don't expect the doctor to be all sunshine and roses about everything I do expect that he would show his patients the same respect that he would want himself . Perhaps moving forward he will keep this case in mind and change things up a little bit for the next person....

I called to say just that-----I broke them and i needed to get a replacement pair. Not a new prescription. The appointment rep looked up my info and said the optical shop I got my glasses at was no longer in network and that i needed a new eye exam. This appointment took months to book which is the norm now. Got to my appointment, checked in, got seen. Then, I received a bill. Called the billing department to discuss, whoever I spoke to was clearly working from home and basically no help at all trying to explain what had happened. Too noisy and too busy shooshing kids and pets in the background. Got frustrated. I actually said F U on the phone. Hung up. Brought the new prescription at a different optical shop--The Optician asked for my insurance info----same as on the phone and going in person....the Optician was the one who saw that the prescription wasn't needed. Too soon. I explained exactly what happened and she said all she can do is order the exact same prescription, I was trembling with frustration - not at her. BECAUSE that is exactly what i told the appointment rep when i called months ago. She said the initial appointment rep should have seen that it was too soon for a new eye exam before booking the appointment and should have just order me a new pair. No need for an eye exam. I was not told this when I made the appointment over the phone, because again the person who made the appointment was also working from home like the billing person and probably not paying attention to what I was saying or looking at my insurance information in their system. Even if the first person missed my insurance information over the phone, the check in person should have seen it was too soon. I would have preferred to be turned away when I got there than to be billed for a non needed exam. How come the phone person AND the check in person didn't see my insurance information? AND me saying in person and over the phone that I just needed a replacement pair didn't register? Thanks for reading my vent. Calling tomorrow and asking for a supervisor or manager.
