This is important because other more expensive pick up mattress services will discard a mattress to the landfill if they can't repurpose it which isn't true recycling. They recycle mattresses, foam, and bed frames. That means they can also recycle the foam squares that are used in gymnastics pits. Only $5 for a 90 gallon lawn bag. I was so excited about this I shared it with Wulf Recreation Center, Pinnacle gymnastics, and Tiger in Arvada. The owner, Chris, is the kind of person that you meet one time and remember for a lifetime. He volunteered at the Denver rescue mission homeless center for 12 years and created a company that benefits the environment and human capital that have passed rehab and deserve another employment chance. They offer drop off or pick up services. Salvation Army and Goodwill no longer except mattresses but they will only tell you about this resource if you remember to ask. Everyone should know about it! This is a very cost effective way to truly recycle mattresses and foam.

I was a bit confused about where to enter as there is not a clear sign, but you want to turn into the large driveway just north of the brick and metal warehouse with the DENVER METAL RECYCLING sign. Stay to the right as you go up the driveway and park as close to the second large warehouse entrance as possible. If all of the spaces are occupied, follow the Exit sign around the far edge of the yard and you'll find additional parking against the fence. Once you've parked, grab one of the various carts and load up your materials. Get in the line by that second warehouse entrance. You'll come to a gentleman operating a floor scale. He'll check your ID, weigh the items, and give you a receipt. You then walk back to the first warehouse entrance and go in the small door where you'll find the cashier. You give her your receipt and she gives you any change that's due, then directs you to the ATM in the corner of the office where you scan your receipt and receive your cash. This is a busy operation, but all of the staffers were friendly, efficient, and helpful. We grabbed a cart, loaded up our items, had a short wait in line for the scale, weighed in and got our receipt, walked to the cashier, and soon had a very reasonable amount of cash. So there's a few misconceptions about this…read moreplace (Action Recycling Center) With COVID-19 being in place, their hours have changed like most other places, even big stores such as Walmart. Their hours Mon-Fri 8:30-4:30Pm & Sat 8-4Pm. Also when it comes to closing, like every other place, they ask for people to come 15 minutes before, so don't be that person who shows up last minute. They do have a strict policy as well with masks (it's mandatory). They are pretty nice people too, when you see a person on the street with no mask (nowadays), the average person doesn't just go up and yell at them. They're only asking for us to be considerate, since they are in the heat (or cold) all day long while wearing masks. Plus! Aren't they the ones who are gathering, sorting, and picking up your materials? That takes a toll on one's body, just saying‍ Lastly, when it comes to how clean the place is, it can get dirty yes, but they really do try to keep on top of it Thanks Action Recycling for being open during this pandemic and wish all of you guys well! They didn't offer it back to me so I assume they are just selling it and keeping the money since it is aluminum.
