Oh dear.. where do I begin? At times when I'd work nearby and needed something quick for lunch, I'd drop by and order take out. On my last visit, I ordered a chicken kebab sandwich and for whatever reason the person who rang me up was not the one making my order. Somehow there was a mix-up and instead of a chicken kebab sandwich, another employee was making a cold pre-packed beef shawarma and adding it to my pita. At first, thought nothing of it cause figured she was preparing another order until she asked me what toppings I wanted in my wrap and I said chicken kebab! Instead of making another sandwich, she proceeds to remove the beef shawarma that's already mixed in with lettuce, tomato, tahini sauce and hummus though there were pieces left behind and adding in my cooked chicken. It was abysmal especially since my expression said it all. The woman asked if this was alright and I said no, I want another sandwich. She was irked by my request, minimally adding in new toppings and refusing to acknowledge her error. When asked by the other employee (person who rang me up) why there's two sandwiches, she looked at me displeased and snidely responds, this sandwich is for us. While waiting for my new chicken kebabs to cook, I was watching her remove a cucumber from its plastic wrap and chop it up without washing. I was observing this and put off by what I was seeing. The care for hygiene was thrown out the window. These cucumber slices were being used for the salad preparation! When it came time to dress my sandwich up, she asked if I wanted cucumber. I adamantly refused. At that point my appetite was waning. I wasn't looking forward to eating. By the time I was in and out, twenty minutes had elapsed. There was one other customer that had come in and the service was ridiculously slow. My take out order turned into dining in, which also caused a bit of a fuss. I ended up eating the pieces of chicken while discarding the pita bread and its fixings. The sandwich left a lot to be desired. Following that incident, two weeks later, I had another poor experience not by my own doing. One evening after a long work day and coming back home to an empty fridge, a housemate had picked up a mixed grill family pack.. three of us were invited to eat. When we did, the taste and quality of both the chicken and meat was awful. None of us were able to consume the food in front of us. It was inedible. I don't know how quality could deteriorate so quickly in a matter of months but somehow this place takes the cake.

I tried a variety of the meats and they were cooked to perfection--tender, flavorful, and well balanced with just the right spices and sauces. Nothing was dry, which made every bite enjoyable. Even though it was busy, the service was quick and very welcoming. The restaurant itself is spotless and clearly well maintained. They also offer traditional desserts like Om Ali, knefe, and rice pudding. If you want a more relaxed café vibe afterward, there's a café in the same parking lot run by the same owners with very comfortable seating and even a prayer room. Overall, a wonderful experience that definitely did not disappoint. I'll absolutely be back.

I remember looking over and thinking, "What is this place that's so full of life?" It was bustling with people and had such a great energy. I had never tried Egyptian food before, but I was feeling a little adventurous. I'm really glad I did. A few dishes were recommended, but I was told the Koshari is beloved in Egypt, so that's what I ordered. Be prepared for a bit of a carb coma, but it's absolutely worth it. It was delicious. The mix of pasta, rice, lentils, chickpeas, and crispy fried onions worked surprisingly well together, especially with the sauces they give you. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in Toronto.

When we had first walked-in, we were surprised to see how small the restaurant was. However, we then noticed that most of the guests were doing take-out as opposed to dine-in. We were able to find a table for four, which was perfect for us. When we walked-up to the front counter to place our order, we were greeted by a kind hostess, whom took our orders without any issue. We then sat down, and watched as our orders were being prepared. We had to wait about fifteen minutes for all of our meals to be ready. We were surprised to see that the margarita pizza had olives on it, despite not seeing it on the menu. However, we just scooped them off since my children didn't want to eat the olives. For the falafel and kabab wraps, we were surprised to see how large they were, and for only $10.00! The kabab wrap (which I had asked for without onions), had two large pieces of kabab, which filled the wrap, along with the sumac and tomatoes. I enjoyed how tasty the wrap tasted, along with how filling it was. My mother also commented on how delicious the falafel tasted. Considering the prices that we had paid, we certainly go our money's worth! The service was also excellent, as we were brought our wraps directly to our table, while the pizza was placed on the table near to our table. Everyone was kind and considerate, making our stay a pleasant one. There were so many menu items to choose from, it was hard to narrow it down. Will definitely be back to try other items the next time around!

I like the 4 in 1 which allows you to sample different toppings at once. It's become my most preferred. The bread is doughy but depending on the option(s) picked, it may fall apart. Service is good. They pump out orders rapidly even when busy. Rarely do they miss ingredients, but rectify those errors. I've dined in more than take out. For a small establishment, it seems to be doing well. Draws in crowds at times. Food is prepped in front of you. Area is clean. Toppings are generous, as are the staff. The washroom is also clean and adjacent to the checkout counter.

We were greeted with a lovely lentil soup, which was rich and perfectly seasoned. Next came the sambusa, which was filled with delicious ground beef. The star of the evening was the mandi, which had juicy and tender meat, fluffy seasoned rice, and sweet and savoury toppings that complimented the dish so well. The lively ambiance and beautifully decorated interior were just the icing on the cake.

I always order the same dish; mini lamb mandi. It is a large portion, enough for two meals. I rarely finish it in one sitting. The lamb melts like butter. It's so tasty. I've tried the chicken mandi and Greek salad (good). I love their Adani tea and because I'm a frequent patron, I accumulate lots of points. They provide a sample of it after your meal. During Ramadan, they provided a complimentary fruit platter for patrons, which I thought was a nice touch. Service is great. Servers are lovely, helpful and kind. The interior has been renovated since the last establishment. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting and they are on top of their cleanliness, including the washroom. I hope they maintain their standard.

We arrived around noon on a recent Saturday and the place was completely empty. A group of four fairly loud men showed up shortly after us and inexplicably sat at a table near us, but that's obviously not the restaurant's fault. The menu contained plenty of tasty-looking entrees, but I figured I'd grab the dish with the name of the restaurant in it: the Tarboosh ("Combination of shawarma and falafel"). The concoction arrived to the table quite a while later, which was weird considering how empty the joint was, and sure looked impressive. I dove right in. Everything on the plate was tasty but not mind-blowing. The chicken shawarma had a few crispy pieces, which was appreciated, but was mostly unreasonably dry. (The two included sauces helped with that, at least.) The falafel was fresh but strangely light. It didn't really have a strong flavor of anything, really. I enjoyed eating it, but it definitely didn't remind me of traditional falafel. The hummus was creamy but lacking in a strong chickpea flavor (i.e. the concoction was overwhelmed by tahini, essentially). However, once I began eating everything together, I began enjoying everything a lot more. The included bread help, too, even though it was far from the best middle-eastern bread I've ever had. Tarboosh is a mixed bag, that's for sure. If you're in the area, it's worth a try. I don't think I would travel to far to check it out, though.
