Update May 2025 - Visited in person, and variety of desserts and cookies they have will just blow your mind.

Assorted cookies (far right)

By FAR, the best desserts I've ever had. ...and I've had a lot of desserts from all over the lace! Incredibly delicious, perfect textures, not too sweet, and the staff were really nice. Ordered their famous pistachio vanilla fruit cake, variety of cookies and baklavas, boureks, flower bread, some rolls, and got their house made Dubai chocolate bar. Ridiculously amazing, all of it. For the Dubai pistachio chocolate bar and cookies-- yes, they have the kanefeh pistachio in cookies!!!-- it was so balanced and crunchy and satisfying. I still dream of it. Parking is a nightmare, no two ways about it. The lot is also small, which can add to the frustration, but everything about this bakery is totally worth the visit!

Tea and dessert

My friends and I have been going to Sultan for years. It is a great spot to drink tea and eat dessert with friends and family. The service is the friendliest around. The tea is wonderful and all the desserts are amazing. Cannot go wrong with any of the dessert options.

Baklavas

This is just dessert heaven! A beautiful array of cakes, hand crafted baklava, house made cookies and breads. Vital chocolate bars. Plenty of seating to enjoy coffee or tea and I believe they serve sandwiches etc. friendly staff.

first time at this bakery. too many choices! i got the almond pudding which was too watery for me and the pudding itself taste of milk and sugar. the baklava pistachio was just alright def had vbetter. the star was the dubai trifle. layer of cake choc pudding and pistachio with kanefe. i will be back to try other things. i wanted to get the dubai choc bar but it was $20.

There was a baby tooth in my son's birthday cake that I got fromSultan Bakery. Never again would I ever buy a cake from them.

It's easy to miss the Sultan Artisan Bakery. It resides in a bi-level strip mall behind a small, packed parking lot. Maybe that's why I didn't discover it sooner. Inside the store is long counter filled with trays of middle eastern cookies, candies and assorted baked goods. They all look enticing and it's hard to avoid buying more than you intend to. The establishment is not as small as it appears from the outside, and there are plenty of tables if you decide to relax with a hot cup of tea or Turkish coffee while you sample the food. While I've only purchased their sweets, they also serve sandwiches and other hot foods. I've tried many of their items, and I've never been disappointed, but the one thing I always return to is their green pistachio cookies. The date cookies are pretty great too. The only warning I would give is to be careful in their parking lot. It's on the tight side and it's hard to maneuver. Parking on the street may be a better choice.

Kadayif, dark chocolate cookie, cherry cookie, and baklava. A delicious plate of desserts!

I've been heading to Paterson every other weekend for a few months. I keep trying new places, just to see the excellent variety offered in the area. Sultan Bakery looked good on Yelp, so I figured I'd give it a shot. I selected a nice loaf of bread, a roll stuffed with olives, a savory pastry with ground beef filling, kadayif, baklava, cherry cookies, dark chocolate cookies, and a cup of tea. I asked about another item and the owner gave me a sample of their fig and walnut dessert, it was incredible. A simple ball shaped dessert but it was packed with flavor. I ate the olive roll and savory ground beef pastry as soon as I got back to my car. The olive filled roll was buttery and tender, the olives were high quality. The savory pastry with ground beef filling was a show stopper! Great flaky texture with a deliciously seasoned beef mixture! I also enjoyed the tea, a really flavorful cup. I saved the rest of the haul for later in the day. The loaf of bread was pillowy but still had bite, the kadayif was sweet and featured a nice layer of ground pistachios, the cherry and dark chocolate cookies were fantastic, and the baklava was superb. Another great find in Paterson!

Came for breakfast because this place was recommended and it didn't disappoint. Everything was awesome. Fast and attentive service. Clean and bright inside settings. But above all food was really delicious and very artistically presented. Definitely recommend it.

My friend posted baklava with ice cream and i knew i had to come here and try. It was amazing I've never had baklava with ice cream and i this is the only way I'll have it from now on. We also took baklava home which we later ate with ice cream. I will definitely come back

I've been hearing about Sook for quite some time and finally had the chance to check it out. Sook…read moreis located on one of the side streets off East Ridgewood Avenue (walking distance). They also have a chocolate shop next door. When I walked inside of the bakery, I felt transported to a pastry shop in France. I visited on a Sunday afternoon and it was super busy. Service was quick and efficient. I ordered a latte and a scone. The scone was very delicious and fresh. My boyfriend ordered a frozen hot chocolate and a chocolate éclair. I tried a bit of the éclair and we both agreed that it was the star of the show. I normally am not a big éclair person but this one was so chocolatey and rich. It was filled with this creamy, fresh chocolate filling. I strongly dislike the store bought cream filling that they are usually piped with. We sat at one of the little tables on the sidewalk outside since the weather was nice. I will be back if I am in the area and in the mood for a sweet treat!

We snagged one as people were getting up. I got a napoleon and another dessert that was chocolate mouse with Carmel and a biscuit cookie on the bottom. It was soo good. Really fluffy but also creamy and rich. Highly recommend this place if you love chocolate! I spent near $30 for a small hot chocolate, a cookie, pastry and mini cake. So it is expensive! But worth it once in a while. And they have a bathroom in the back!
