I've been going to McCabes with friends on a somewhat regular basis for a while now. The service…read moreis always great and friendly and the food is pretty decent - the Irish Nacho's are delicious! And so is their spicy mayo for sweet potato fries. Saturdays they usually have a band playing or a guy with a guitar playing covers, while some would say that's not super exciting, I love a bit of live music I can sing along to! In the summer time they have a roof top patio that gets great sun and is amazing for after work drinks.

My first time at McCabe's led to an overall enjoyable experience. First and foremost, the food was…read morevery good and the menu looked excellent boasting a half price Tuesday burger menu, which I am sure I will be back for. I had the spring menu special pork chop which was very good though lacking the mass I require for sustenance. The main downfall of McCabe's is the overall bland and predictable beer list with only one decent craft IPA on tap (Anderson's IPA which received a 4.5 on Crapper Craft Reviews). While this saved the day the next most intriguing option was...nothing unless you enjoy a Sleeman railside or a Belgian Moon.....No thank you. Beer is why I come to pubs so this certainly knocked a good start off my rating. Secondly the service, which I usually dont give two farts about, was slower than my second cousin Jimmy (bless his soul). All this combined led to a 3 star rating, but I'm a hard ass so take this with some salt. Still one of the better pubs in the city which is pretty sad. STEP UP YOUR GAME LONDON. Crapper reviews signing off.

Pizza is solid. Have had the Italian Wedding and the Eric B. Italian Wedding truly tastes like…read morewedding soup- meatballs are great, and the sauce has a garlic butter broth-like flavor. The Eric B. had a good mixture of toppings- I particularly enjoy the cup and char pep. They also have a nice shaker full of garlic and oregano for their pies. Antipasto salad is solid as well. The only complaint would be that the center of the crust does have a lot of flop. Not quite as much structural integrity as I'd enjoy throughout the full crust, but nonetheless, the outside edge has a nice crisp chew. Overall - very solid, will continue to order when the craving is there.

Locals seem to love this place, but I found the pizza very average. The toppings were very good - greasy meats, can't go wrong. I like a nice crispy crust that can support the toppings. Their crust is very soft and chewy. Every slice needs a steady two hands as the crust falls like a limp noodle with any weight. It may sound picky to some, but a good crust really goes a long way and a good, crispy crust that holds toppings well makes for the tasty mix of texture. Also 19 bucks is steep for a 12 inch pie, even with some meats.

As cold pizza it's not good at all! But if you reheat it in the stove as instructed on the box- it was very good on days two and three- which is usually a day too old for pizza from me. We decided we will use all of the coupons in the around Erie book. The pic is of the elderly 3 day old pizza

So I ordered my favorite pizza- pepperoni, bacon and green olives. The square cut pizza is also a favorite. I opened the box and no green olives. Just pepperoni, bacon and BLACK olives. I don't like black olives. I would have never ordered this pizza. So disappointed. Sadly, I picked off the black olives and ate my pepperoni and bacon pizza. If they don't have green olives, then I should have been called, at the very least. What if I was allergic to black olives? Or take them off the list of available ingredients. Don't just substitute black for green. They're not the same flavor profile. Not even close, in my opinion. For that reason, I could only give 3 stars- and that, folks, is all she wrote.

We love A Fransico's and I've given it a 5 star review on Google. We went here on Saturday…read morespecifically for Virgil's pizza. They had Gary, the owner of Virgil's, making his pizza and I was very much looking forward to having it again. He had my favorite pizza and I missed having it. So when I heard he was making his pizza again, I booked a reservation. Now, for the record, A. Francisco's is my new favorite pizza, Colin is a pizza genius. But I missed Virgil's, so I ordered my go to pepperoni pizza. I was pretty disappointed. As soon as they put the pizza down, I knew it was different. It didn't look like I knew Virgils to look like. The crust was different. The pepperoni was different... it wasn't Virgil's. I've eaten hundreds of squares. I would get 6 squares and eat them for lunch and want more...this time I ate two... just to be polite. The biggest difference was the dough. It didn't look like Virgil's and it didn't taste close to what Virgil's tasted like. My wife had the house made spaghetti with shrimp and it was very good. The buratta balls were excellent. Those were from A. Francisco's menu and we always have excellent food from here. But for someone who loved Virgil's, this was NOT the Virgil's that I remember and loved. I don't know what happened to his dough, but tonight I'm going to A. Francisco's for my new favorite pizza made by Colin. I'm not a fan of their pepperoni, so I go sausage and arugula. If they ever get the old world pepperoni that curls up, I'll go back to my go to.

Crispy on the outside with perfectly melted, gooey cheese inside, and served with a marinara that was flavorful without being overly sweet. For our entrees we tried the OG (added sausage) and the prosciutto e arugula (added mushrooms). Both were delicious, featuring a well-balanced, crispy oven-baked crust that wasn't overly crunchy, elevated by parmesan, red pepper flakes, and a touch of sea salt. I also had an Aperol spritz to drink which was refreshing and perfect. Our server was quick and kind, and the vibe was modern and moody. We definitely see ourselves returning.
