Stop in for a quick bite on Sunday before our flight out. Georgian cuisine is just so flavorful and delicious. Great friendly prompt service nice and calm music playing. They were picking up by 6pm customers were streaming in for dinner. We had Xcharcho soup, Khinkali pork and beef and lamb, Chaxokhbili and all were delicious. Would love to come back next time in Toronto.!

I love finding these gems that stand out from the crowd and is happy to serve food in authentic approachable ways. We came on a Friday night and the restaurant was slowly filling up, but they still managed to sit everyone that trickled in during our meal even if it meant pulling a table from the backroom. We ordered the lamb khinkali (traditional Georgian dumpling), the hachapuri adjarsky (boat shaped bread with cheese and soft egg), and the pork shish kebab. To start us off, they brought us some warm bread and butter which was amazing.... but don't get too full because every dish coming after will need space. The dumplings were huge and filled with a delicious soup. The hachapuri was a wonderful cheesy creamy bread chaser. The pork was perfectly grilled with a lovely smokey char and went well with the grilled veggies and bread. I would definitely recommend to try something new and unique.

This is a great place for Georgian food: tasty & generous portions. Service is pretty good too. Kharcho soup was excellent. It had a very strong lamb taste. Regular size was pretty big - enough for 2. The pilaf was huge. It had a lot of lamb, and in big chunks too. It wasn't as flavourful as the soup but was still pretty good - moist & flavourful enough. Fat streaks in the lamb were a nice variation in texture. It went well with the non-spicy tomato sauce. Fried eggplant with sauce was pretty good but a cold dish with a strong taste is not for everyone. It was pretty big. The complimentary pickled cabbage was OK: crisp & sour. The bread rolls weren't good though. Kompot (fruit drink) was OK: quite light. Napoleon (cake) with ice cream & berries was disappointing. The cake was a bit old, so it was no longer flaky, though it was large. The cream between the layers was very nice though. The mango ice cream was ok - it had some ice crystals in parts.

I came to this restaurant a couple of times previously and thought they had decent food. So recently I revisited with a group of friends. The food we ordered turned out to have a downhill sign and the service was bad. We waited a long time for the menu after sitting down. The server thought we already ordered for some reason. They were clearly understaffed! It was also difficult for us to call a server for the cheque. For cold dish, we ordered the spinach, beets, beans and eggplant with walnuts. The beets and spinach were mediocre. Beans were not bad and eggplant had an interesting taste. For curiosity, we also shared the lamb tongue. It was tender and juicy albeit not enough wine to cover the strong flavour of lamb. For main dish, we had two orders of lamb kabab since they ran out of their awesome lamb stew. It was flavourful but they did not use a good part of the lamb. The meat had so much tendon which was tough. The mashed potatoes on the side were dry. We also had a beef short rib dish. I was too full to try it. According to my friend, the flavour was average and it was hard to chew. We had the traditional cheese pastry before which amazed us. So this time we tried the spinach and cheese pastry. It was so disappointing. It did not have much cheesy taste. The ratio of the spinach and cheese was definitely off.

First time trying Georgia restaurant- interesting experience. Most people here seem to come from east Europe, except us. We asked for recommendation and ordered some from each type. We started with a harcho soup for everyone to share, it's pretty good - a traditional and classic choice with beef and rice. It went well with bread too. Appetizer we tried the lamb tongue, its greasier than beef tongue, but creamy texture and very soft. Khinkali with lamb is good too, kind of like bigger version of Chinese soup dumpling. My favorite is the Hachapuri- pizza dough topped with cheese and egg - chewy and tasty - not too big a difference from a pizza though. Lamb stew and mixed grilled kebab are what we ordered to share. Kebab has big portions and we wouldn't really able to finish everything so had a to go box. Overall interesting experience and nice atmosphere - could try!

Assorted Phali, very good especially the chopped beets and the eggplant.

First time to Suliko after the pandemic. Price has gone up with is understandable, but the food tasted better than I remember. We ordered a variety of dishes. The Assorted Phali to start as a cold appetizer, the eggplant, beets, spinach and mashed bean were all seasoned perfectly. We particularly like the chopped beets. The potato kinkali was kind of like a round giant pierogi and the pork/beef ones had juice running inside the dough. The Hachapuri "Suliko" was cheese wrapped inside a philo dough, if you like cheese, this one is for you. The lamb kebab was the weakest dish we had. We ordered it middle rare, but it came basically rare and not particularly flavorful. The service was okay, our young waitress sometimes forgot things or did not understand what we asked for. Since she was from Ukraine, we gave her a pass.

I came here a handful of times with work, friends and finally brought my family here. I would suggest food be brought out to share for everyone, that way you can try the most of different types of dishes. For 5 of us this is what we ordered Food: (5 stars) Kompot: (5 stars) $10 for a pitcher of juice - strawberry and water juice with water. Suliko Salad (5 stars) - $10.95 Cheburek - (5 stars) $5.95 for lamb, $4.95 for beef and pork Hachapuri Adjarsky (5 stars) $16. You should mix the egg with the cheese before eating it. Khinkali - mixed meat (pork and beef) (5 starts) 3 per portion - $6.95 . (5 portions were ordered for 5 people) Mixed grill (5 stars) $40 Honey cake (5 stars) - $11 Satsivi (2 stars) $15.95 - Chicken in walnut sauce. The chicken is served cold. there are some bones in it so it was the least favorite dish from all of us) For 5 of us the bill came to $210 with tax and tip. We ended up having more food than required and took a bunch of it to go. Note: They have specials of meat which look really good, but I did not have a chance to try yet. Atmosphere: (4 stars) One large dinning room, nothing fancy, normal wear and tear on the tables and chairs. Service: (5 stars) Very friendly services, the food we got was shared between everyone, so the waitress came and gave us new plates after the first few courses.

Suliko is an awesome authentic restaurant serving traditional Georgian cuisine in the GTA. Before we get to the food, I must say that the customer service is top-notch. They were able to accommodate us despite coming to our reservation super early (and despite the super busy atmosphere and multiple parties going on). The restaurant was VERY busy (sign of good food!) and we could tell that all the servers worked super hard and did their best - and it showed. So thank you to all the staff at Suliko for making our very first visit a pleasant one! Now, on to the food. Portion sizes are HUGE (each kachapuri is the size of a small to medium-sized pizza), and they don't skimp on cheese in all of their cheese-containing dishes. Everything we tried - from the appetizer (eggplant roll) and khinkali (dumplings), to the kachapuri and special of the day (grilled sea bass with vegetables) - was excellent. The cottage cheese inside the khinkali was unlike any other cottage cheese I've had before - full of flavour. The kachapuri came piping hot. The sea bass was grilled to perfection, and the fish meat was soft and tender at the same time. Grilled vegetables were nicely charred too. The ambience was casual yet homey, with nice traditional music in the background. The place is very popular with families and medium to large gatherings (there were 2 parties going on that evening). Highly recommended if you're looking for authentic Georgian food in the area.

I love Georgian cuisine! I mean who wouldn't love unique dishes filled with walnut, exotic cheeses and pomegranates? Suliko is a Georgian restaraunt with a commitment to quality and authenticity. It is the best know (and in my humble opiolnion) the best Georgian restaraunt in the GTA. The decor is a little rustic with elements of traditional Georgian culture. When it gets warm, you want to sit on the patio for the truly authentic experience. A large wood-fueled BBQ pit (at least I think it's wood) is situated right inside the patio, with the chef grilling up the orders of the day. The smoky smell of grilled meat permeates the air, making you feel like a guest at a Georgian BBQ rather than a restaurant patron. When I go to Suliko, I usually order lamb khinkali (large georgian dumplings) a khachapuri (a variation of cheese bread) and a grilled meat dish. The khinkali are we'll seasoned with just a bit of broth inside to make them extra juicy. They are nothing like the various other types of dumplings you will find in Central Asia. In addition to the meat options, they offer khinkali stuffed with cottage cheese or potatoes so the vegetarian foodies have no excuse to avoid this wonderful dish. The khachapuri is a dish Georgia is best known. At Suliko it comes in a number of variations. It's meant to be shared but I have been known to eat an entire khachapuri on my own. The menu has seven khachapuri variations. I tried two of them so far. Khachapuri Suliko is shaped kind of like an inside out pizza. The dough is fresh, flaky and has a bit of a buttery after-taste. It is absolutely delicious. The Abkhazian Khachapuri is shaped like a boat with egg and cheese in the middle. The consistency of the dough is less flaky and more similar to pizza dough. The idea is to tear off a piece of the bread boat, dip it in the gooey goodness in the middle and enjoy. I prefer Khachapuri Suliko but it's a matter of taste. The various kebobs are usually really good as well, since they are made on an open flame. Suliko has a ton of unique dishes i have yet to try and I will come back with some level of regularity.

It was a sad night as a small group of friends gather to say goodbye to one of our own. She is an icon of Yelp Toronto and with her husband's good work done here, she is being moved back to Southern California. As winter is approaching, what a great escape! Well there goes the sad feelings...now I am left with jealousy! Anyways, what other way to say goodbye than to share a meal with good friends. Though half the group have been to Suliko, the rest of us were in for a treat. The place is listed as a Russian, but most foodies will quickly point out that it is a Georgian restaurant. The veterans of Suliko warned us of possible overeating and food coma. OK...Challenge Accepted! Self-High-Five!!! We ate family style with a bunch of dishes. Stand outs were...basically everything. The food isn't presented in little bits and pieces of muse-bouche, boujie dishes, nor pretentious pageantry. It's just simple food made well. The mix meat grill had basically all the major food groups - yep...vegans cover your eyes - pork, beef, chicken, lamb...I don't think there is any other food group...hmmmm. The one order could feed a small village! Or 6 hungry Yelpers and then some. The meats are cooked on a large bbq under the covered patio and they were delicious. Each protein at the right temperature - that takes talent and practice! In regards to other dishes, mushroom with cheese, mussels with cheese, pastry pizza with cheese...are you getting the picture? Someone said, "everything goes with cheese!"...I guess here it does. Got some grilled veggies and a salad as well. Various soups were ordered too and I think the standout may have been the Borsch. Lastly, can't forget the large and somewhat questionable shaped dumplings that were presented unceremoniously in a large bowl in whatever fashion it landed out of the boiler. I do have to say that sometimes, a little presentation does go a long way - it's my only advice to the establishment. It was a Monday night and the restaurant was slow. The servers were also slow. Service wasn't the best as we needed to keep reminding the server what we needed and we had to ask for the plates to be swapped out. Sometimes one of us would be holding an empty serving dish forever until we could flag someone down. The plates were huge and the table was small. The portions were huge and it contributed to the over-stuffed food coma to follow. Ugh... I had to dine and dash as I had to pick people up after the Maple Leafs game but...it was sad time again. Not only is the small group of friends that met on Yelp going to miss Ms.'Lanie, but the whole Yelp Toronto and GTA community as well. Safe Travels! Cheers!

I drive along Steeles Avenue regularly, commuting from work back home. Some folks would think that I am crazy, as I work in Mississauga and live in Markham. However, do you know how bad highway 401 is during rush hour on a good day? It's horrible! I used to take the 407 to and from work. These days, I enjoy the benefits of backroading. I get to figure out what businesses are on my route. For a while, I have noticed the huge Suliko sign as I drive past it daily. I first thought that it was some sort of wine cellar place (the sign has grapes). I also thought that it was a Japanese restaurant. I was wrong on both counts. For months, my Yelp friend, Colanie, and I have been meaning to get together. We both seemed like friendly people who weren't creepy, so why not?! She recently moved to this neighbourhood and suggested Suliko. I looked at each photo on Yelp and I got incredibly hungry looking at amazing Georgian food. My salivating at home was not a pretty sight! We met a couple of Mondays ago for dinner. Parking was pretty good at 6:30 pm. I parked and walked in. Colanie was wonderful to have made a reservation. We had a booth. I sat. About five minutes later, she had arrived. The menu had so much that we wanted. We ordered the following: - Bread rolls, with plum, spicy, sweet, and buttery options, and pickled cabbage - Small bowl of borscht (me) - Chahohbili, which is chicken stew, with tomatoes, garlic, and a bunch of herbs - Hachapuri adjaraky (boat-shaped bread, with cheese and a half-cooked egg) - Honey cake with cherry ice cream and fresh fruit - Khinkali (dumplings) with beef and pork The starter bread rolls were warm, fresh, and soft. We had wonderful sauces and butter to spread on them. They were all so good and so different. We both weren't into pickled cabbage, but it was okay. I ordered a small bowl of borscht. It is huge for a small size. It was so good. The beets and carrots were julienne-cut. It was incredibly flavourful and comforting. Colanie passed, as beets weren't her jam. Next to corn and green beans, I love beets. Beets are particularly yummy in soups. I got to try some of Colanie's chicken stew. It tasted homemade, and was both fragrant and delicious. The chicken was tender. You barely needed to chew. We had a wonderful server who explained everything to us. We had to get the hachapuri adjaraky, which is one of the restaurant's signature dishes. It is essentially boat-shaped bread, with cheese and a half-cooked egg on top. Our server explained that we needed to break the yolk and stir everything up. My friend did the honours and we tore this dish up. It was delightful. It wasn't heavy. The cheese provided the salt. The egg with the bread made everything taste heavenly. I highly recommend ordering it. All portions here are generous. I am so glad that we split everything. Otherwise, we would have had difficulty waddling out of the restaurant. For dessert, we relied once again on our server to provide suggestions. She recommended the honey cake. We got cherry ice cream . It also came with fresh fruit. Wow, you must get this dessert! Tell your stomach that it must make room to fit this cake in. It was tasty and soft. The layers looked amazing. The fresh fruit complemented the cake well. The cherry ice cream was not homemade, but you got chunks of cherries in it. Delicious! Colanie got a hot chocolate before she had to leave. It smelled good. She liked it. I got the khinkali (dumplings) to go. I ordered the ones with beef and pork. They smelled so good as I drove home with them in my car. I couldn't resist and I ate one of them when I got home. It was still warm. It was scrumptious and huge. It does have black pepper. If you don't enjoy it, you may want to pass on the khinkali. I ate the other two khinkali for lunch the following day. If you love dumplings like I do, get the khinkali and indulge. The restaurant serves amazing food. We had a wonderful time chatting and eating. Delightful foodie company always makes yummy food even more enjoyable. I am definitely coming back. Portions are huge, so bring your empty stomach here. (183)

This is my first experience with Georgian food and it's amazing! Everything is so special and delicious, and the size of the dishes are gigantic Assorted phali - beets with walnut - assorted eggplant rolls with walnut - spinach with walnut - red beans with walnut A gigantic appetizer dish. Each item tastes quite simple, just the fresh ingredient with some oil. However, by adding the delicious table sauces to them can completely transforms them. Khinkali (traditional Georgian dumplings) pork and beef: tastes like a chinese soup dumpling but it's gigan. Hachapuri ispanahi (round yeast dough pie filled with cheese with extra cheese on top): The texture and flavour of this dough is not like anything I expected or can imagine or describe. It's so fluffy and soft with a very distinct and delicious flavour. Lamb Shish Kebab: Big and delicious. We usually prefer medium rare but had it cooked medium as recommended and found it to be a bit too tough. I would suggest cooking it at your regular preferenc

When coming in it was a full house, they brought us to a table that was unlike any of the other tables they had. Its one of those backyard lawn chair tables and they covered it with a cloth and gave two foldable chairs. (the other chairs they had were not like this). We were seated right beside the fire extinguisher, it was located directly above my friend's head. And also right beside the doorway (luckily it wasn't cold outside). The menu i wish it had pictures, i had to refer to yelp to know what the items were. Some did not explain what was in it. We got two items that seemed to be the most popular and it was incredibly salty. Most of the food consisted of cheese and bread. The decor is beautiful, It's an okay restaurant i would try it again sometime if i'm in the area.

Whoever that other person that gave this amazing place a 3 star clearly a) doesn't have enough…read moreexperience with Russian restaurants and b) doesn't understand how to properly approach a "sharp" owner named Tatiana (duh) who is the sweetest and the most helpful person. I hope people don't take this seriously as he has just one review. Speaks volumes about his Russian restaurant experiences... Just FYI I have been to over 15 different Russian Restaurants, including 2 more in Los Angeles. Let's do this review right and give an amazing place justice. THIS IS THE RUSSIAN RESTAURANT RIGHT NOW. THE PLACE. ASK ANY SINGLE EASTERN EUROPEAN BAKERY IN NORTH YORK/TORONTO and they will tell you wow, everyone is going to Tatiana. We had to reserve our Saturday night 3 months in advance. People from Hamilton, St Cathrines, Pickering, Ajax, Mississauga -everyone is trying to get into this restaurant. Why? You need to understand the nature of RR (let's just go with this for Russian Restaurant(s) from now on). It's an extremely difficult and restless business - you need to be working 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. RR management and names and chefs change weekly if not every other 4 days. So, if you go to one RR and you LOVE it and go back the next week you may not find that you have the same food or the same service. Russian people drink and they dance. This is what RR is about. Don't come here with expectations of a friggin steak house on King St, what is wrong with you? It's an EVENT. It's a BANQUET HALL. People come here to wear their beautiful suits and dresses, to meet with their best friends, to drink and to eat amazing food. I've had bad food experiences with RRs but this one is great I have no complaints about the food AT ALL. (except for the holodets, anyone who's Russian will know and will understand that no one ever likes or eats it at RRs...) So. About the service. Have you ever seen Orange is the New Black? Tatiana is Red. She's not rude. She is not mean. She is extremely helpful, she is nice, she is stressed out but she is organized to the tits and she will get sh*t done and FAST. If she tells you how many people don't go hmmm...welll....i was thinking... NO. NO! TELL HER HOW MANY GODDAMN PEOPLE AND MOVE ON. If she tell you come at 8 do not come at 7. She will say what the F are you doing here. Because this is business and ain't nobody got time for your indecisiveness. Tatiana also has one of the best RR websites out there - with a full menu available online. Booze: bring your own. to the other reviewer person - are you friggin kidding me? Where else can you get a 2L bottle of wine for $12 bucks (LCBO) and a 7 course dinner with caviar, seafood, lamb, traditional Georgian food (that's hella hard to make), huge marinated oyster mushrooms, kebabs, etc for $65+10% tip and tax. HELLO. WHAT PLANET DO YOU LIVE ON. Also, $65+tip is the weekend night price. Weekday nights and brunch are much cheaper and much quieter with no sacrifice in quality. Food: i posted some legit pictures. White fish fillet stuffed with crab and baked with cheese, smoked salmon, marinated mushrooms, grilled pepers artichokes zucchini and asparagus, roasted potatoes, pate, 5+ different kinds of salads, cold cuts including chicken with apricot INSIDE (yeah.). stuffed eggplants, prosciutto with melon, chicken salads, red caviar, rice, chicken lamb and minced meat kebabs, mussels and shrimp sauteed in some kind of cheese tomato sauce, i could go on for days. you get the point, there is something for EVERYONNEEE and it's impossible to list everything I ate there. Service: Fast, attentive, cute and funny. We even gave our servers one of my mom's 50th birthday bouquets because she was sooo cute. Entertainment: Saxophone dude - you're so cute and your voice is like an Angel's. Also, those sax skills...wooow. The girl, i wish i knew your name, thank you for singing that Ukrainian song in support of our motherland. GO HOME PUTIN. Decor: Lovely. The table pieces were tasteful and charming, I love the table set up and there was plenty of room. TIP #1: Bring your own wine. There's no corking fee. TIP #2: Ask them to pack up whatever is left over! They have boxes, it's allowed and you can eat delicious resto food for a whole week! TIP #3: Dance. Enjoy yourself. You're coming into a different culture's home - embrace it and enjoy it, try new things. I LOVE YOU TATIANA!!!!!!!!!!!!

The owner rushed us through the meal and was generally unpleasant. She limited what we could take home as leftovers, not allowing two,e of the dishes with mayo in them and any of the pickles. I strongly suspect that they put the pickles etc. back with the stock in the kitchen. Which really grossed me out. I would not recommend this place unless you are in a large group and part of the Russian community. The staff were otherwise lovely and they food was tasty. Just the owner was weird, suspicious behaviour around the food and rude to myself and my friend.

Russian Done Right!!!…read more Being no stranger to the Russian community, as I have many Russian friends from all over Russia, and have been to Russian weddings, barbecues, other events and have eaten many traditional dinners at the homes of my friends. I have heard about Arbat from many of my friends over the years and heard such great things about it, sadly I have never eaten there before. Well, I finally got my chance as I was invited to a wedding at Arbat!!. Arbat is located near Dufferin and Center Street right near the famous Concord Foods Grocery store, a landmark in the area. It is a restaurant and an event space for banquets and weddings. It's a little on the smaller side for an event space but our group was easily accommodated. There is live music and karaoke on certain nights and the singers although Russian can and will sing in English and sing English songs ( just ask ). There are set menus for the regular diners and its charged by the type of food and the amount of guests. When the food started coming out, you tell right away who was familiar with Russian food and cuisine and who was not, as they started bringing course after course after course. Some of the guests were full after the first two courses since they didn't realize the main courses had yet to be served. I sampled as many of the delicacies as I could patiently waiting for the main courses to arrive. Every dish that was brought was made to a very high standard with fresh ingredients and high-quality cuts of meat, fish and seafood. The kid's meals were very good as well, although they were full by the time their meals came out my kids said their food was really good. We had a great time, listened to such great music and now I want to go back for dinner. Any takers?

Great restaurant, hosted our private event! Good food, beautiful venue and great service.read more

The food…read morewas top notch, which, when it comes to Russian cuisine, means that it was not hopelessly over salted or oozing with grease. I actually quite enjoyed most of the dishes I tried. The decor is horrendous with the banquet hall chair covers pompously hanging over beat up chairs, and equally pompous synthetic linen. The service is like it was in the 80s in Russia: insincere and clueless. I was quite happy that there was no music -- I could actually enjoy a conversation. I'd return there for the food.

The staff kindly brewed a fresh coffee right before my eyes which was a nice touch. Before ordering the perogies I might add that I had asked her how many and how big they were considering I was paying around $7.00 for one serving, which was a little steep if you ask me. Well she said it would be average size and I believed it until I opened it up later to find that infact they were HALF the size of any perogy I have ever seen in my life and 3x more greasy! I am shocked, and insulted as a Ukrainian myself and growing up with the food this was a poor excuse. The whole place was tacky and an attempt wad made to appear fancy but that was a genuine fail. I'm actually sorry to write this but its true.
