We have been taking our dog for almost three years for boarding and grooming... and every time it has been a great experience. Love this place and all the ladies that work there.

We love this place! we've used them for years. we've lived in eastern Oregon for the last two years but use them still when we visit Salem. the staff always remember us and always knows our Hannah girl!

BEWARE!!! This place is not what it seems! I do not enjoy writing a bad review but three separate incidents later I felt it necessary. I write this review in hopes that it will save others from the disappointment, stress and financial strain using this place has caused me. Let me also preface this by saying that I had reasonable expectations that my dogs would be cared for in the manner for which I paid and I am well aware of the inherent risks associated with boarding dogs. The first time I used Suite Dog Daze(SDD) services I took my two dogs for an afternoon of daycare and baths and one of them wound up with a double ear infection which resulted in at least $200 in vet bills. I thought maybe this was just a coincidence.... For my second experience with SDD I boarded my two dogs for a few days and a few days after picking them up one of them turned up with kennel cough (both dogs are vaccinated and I know it is not guaranteed to protect them) When I called and notified SDD staff they said "we'll make a note of it". The conversation was so short and felt very dismissive and unconcerned. The third experience with SDD was the worst and absolutely not the level of care I thought I was paying for. This was a 6 day stay through the Thanksgiving holiday. Already on edge that this wasn't quite the safest place for them to stay, I checked the cameras more frequently and what I found broke my heart and confirmed my fears. What I thought I was paying for posted on their website : "5ft x 10ft x 6ft, and larger, Or 4ftx8ftx6ft. All day play included!" Note: there is also a disclaimer that says "(SDD reserves the right to choose best fit accommodations for each dog which may include a crates versus a suite." In this case they decided my two dogs would stay in a very small crate on the cold floor for the duration of their stay. No cot, no blanket, in the"training room" and often spending at least 16 hours in the kennel. They were fed together in the same small kennel during which the larger of my two dogs ate the most of the other dog's food, which doesn't usually happen with just a little bit of supervision. "Play time" consisted of the dogs just pacing around the room following the handler cleaning up after them. Not once did I see any engagement with the dogs. With each passing day, my concerns mounted and I watched the cameras more often and witnessed one of my dogs get sprayed with water while the garage door was open in the 30-40 degree weather. It is no surprise that both of my dogs got sick. After stressing for my entire trip about what was happening to my dogs, I rushed back from the airport and attempted pick up at 12:20. Only to find the office closed from 12-2 which is only posted on the front door. Thankfully someone responded to my message via Facebook and allowed the bather on site to deliver my dogs. Upon pickup, both dogs smelled like urine, both had runny noses and sneezes, congestion and cough. Both obviously sick and absolutely exhausted. As if that wasn't awful enough, the smaller of my two dogs had small cuts all over his body. This place brags on their website about a ratio of 1/10 handlers/dogs which was not the case any time I checked the cameras. In fact I noticed a complete lack of care every time I checked the cameras which was frequent because I had a bad feeling. There were many times I checked the cameras and couldn't even locate my dogs. Much to my dismay, after doing some digging, I found other reviews on this place that nearly mirrored my experiences. Yes, there are inherent risks when boarding your dogs but each time I used this place something bad happened to my dogs. As a disabled veteran or any dog mom for that matter, it is very disappointing to spend so much money to have someone care for your pets (family) and then to have to turn around and spend hundreds more in vet bills. I suspect this place has its tentacles deeply rooted in the local community which is why it has been able to continue to treat dogs so poorly and get away with it.

    just groomed and looking fabulous!

Three years ago I adopted a very active Frenchy. I was a bit overwhelmed, and my son recommended I take him to daycare to acclimate him to people and dogs. I chose Suite Dog Daze and it has been a very positive experience. He loves going there, and has learned to interact with lots of different dogs and people. He is groomed there also. Like most businesses, there are changes in staff at times, but I haven't had any negative experiences. Just happy to have such a wonderful place for my dog.

Terrific dog care, grooming, training! Always felt my dog was welcome and well care for by staff.

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT COME HERE IF THIS IS THE FIRST TIME BOARDING YOUR FAMILY PET. Pay more at another facility and get better quality care. The day I picked up my pup he came out and was soaking wet as if he were sprayed with a hose. He had a deep cut on the top of his forehead, and a bite behind his shoulder that was noticed at the time of pick up; the staff said they were scratches but they were wounds. He was noticeably sick and appeared mistreated. This was my worst fear of boarding and I regret my decision to board him at this facility. Please go elsewhere, it is not worth the regret of feeling terrible for bringing your pets here, the emails, the phone calls, the proof of pictures, the excuses, the money you will spend on vet bills, and the conversations, because you will get nowhere. My pup has never shown signs of aggression towards people, kids, or any pets he has ever been around in our care. They produced multiple stories over the next day and notified me of things I had no idea happened while he was in their care. They will attempt to turn it all around and make your pet look like an aggressive uncontrollable animal. However, the stories are inconsistent. First incident was my dog was showing symptoms of kennel cough, the staff did call and let me know that they would quarantine my pet. The very next day in less than 24 hours, the staff called and left a voicemail and said he had no symptoms and fine. I took their word for it because the turnaround was so quick, however reading their contract/agreement "Incubation period is 2-14 days. Dogs can be asymptomatic, meaning, appearing healthy one day, yet come down with the virus a week later." He should have been quarantined for a minimum of 2 days. He was Ill when he was picked up from the facility which was 4 days from the date they notified me of his symptoms. The second incident was my pup took a toy from another dog the other dog "snapped at my dog creating a wound on the top of my dog's head" (other wounds were found after we brought him home). It sounds to me that the other dog is the aggressor not mine. Lisa was a witness to this and did not call me nor did her staff. This incident was never communicated to me until the very day I picked up my dog. Which is not okay. The third incident is that my dog bit an employee on the hand "leaving two or three small surface wounds" because he was trying to stop my dog from mounting another. This should have been communicated to me immediately. Lisa and her staff did not call, email, or notify me at pick-up, they told me about this THE DAY AFTER I picked him up because she stated "she didn't want to add more fuel to the fire" which to me is an unprofessional response. Their own policy/agreement says, "I further understand that should my dog display any aggression of any kind toward staff of Suite Dog Daze LLC, that SDD LLC, has the right to refuse to provide services at any time." Wouldn't that be grounds to do so if this were the case? They will make up stories as they go and will turn it around to make it look like your pet has all these behavior issues. Lisa stated she was with my dog when my dog was bitten and notified the front desk four times to call me, however I never received any notification. She blames the staff for not being trained and not notifying me instead of her taking the responsibility and doing it herself. She should have quarantined both the dogs and called me immediately. She also mentioned on the phone that nothing happened to the other dog that bit mine because it is a boarding kennel full of dogs and that is the risk you take. I read the contract and agreements, but you are required to tell me if something bad happened to my pet or vice versa as soon as it happens. Which is a huge problem. No communication. Over the next two days we took him in for care, at his first vet visit they said to just watch him over the next couple of days and to treat the wound with Neosporin. They agreed that the stories were inconsistent. The very next day his symptoms worsened and was taken to the animal hospital for emergency care. They agreed he should have been quarantined for 2 days at minimum and was diagnosed with kennel cough/pneumonia; the wounds will heal on their own. Lisa was made aware of all the concerning issues; however, she kept changing her story about what happened and refused to help other than have a meeting with her staff. The excuses as to why these things happened are unacceptable, policy/agreements are not followed, and they should be one hundred percent liable for what happens to our pets in their care and communicate critical issues, however zero accountability on their part. DO NOT BRING YOUR FAMILY PETS to this facility, you will regret it immensely and feel terrible that you did.

Sweet Dog Days cut not just one, but both of my dogs ears. They are still bleeding.

Sweet Dog Days located in Salem, OR, has groomed my mini-schnauzer three times now. They apologized for butchering my dogs ears then asked me to pay the full price. I insisted they give a discount which they did (25%). They told me it frequently happens. My dog has been groomed all over the country as we travel in our RV and has never been "nicked" in 12 years. Today he was nicked in both ears. Totally unacceptable!

Falling asleep minutes after getting home from daycare.

My pup barely contains her excitement when we pull into the parking lot. I enjoy being able to watch her on the Webcam as she plays with the other dogs, under the watchful eye of the employees. Daze's location is convenient and their on-line appointment site is easy to use. At the end of the daycare day, my dog is happy and tired.

Always top notch. My dog is happy.Lillian does a wonderful job and my dog feels safe with her.

If you love your dog, don't bring them here. They fail to tell dog owners of kennel cough in their facility and are negligent.

Oak Grove Kennel is fantastic! I'm glad that I found them!…read more My dog, Brenda, and I recently moved to an apartment in Woodburn, Oregon, and unfortunately, my dog is extremely noise phobic and anxious overall, and this has made it very difficult to keep her at our apartment-- we live on the bottom floor, and Brenda panics every time that she hears noise from the upstairs neighbor; and this has made daily life miserable, with her constantly on edge and panicking over every sound. After researching local boarding places, I contacted Oak Grove Kennel about boarding my dog temporarily while I figure out how best to manage Brenda's anxiety moving forward, because keeping her at the apartment was not working (she is now on medication for her anxiety, but the medication takes time to fully work, which is another reason for my wanting to board her: give her a comfortable place to board while the medication has a chance to take effect). And Oak Grove was more than happy to assist me. Brenda boarded initially at Oak Grove for eight days, and it worked out great. The staff was even nice enough to allow me to make periodic visits to the facility so that I could visit Brenda and ensure her that I didn't completely abandon her -- I visited about three times. I then brought Brenda back home, had a few rough anxious nights, then brought her back to Oak Grove for another boarding stay -- and Brenda is currently at the facility as I type this review. And just like last time, I have visited Brenda a few times over this past week! The staff at Oak Grove is very accommodating, friendly, and knowledgeable. And, like I mentioned previously, they are kind enough to allow me to make visits to the facility to visit my dear sweet dog, something which means a lot to me because I miss my dog greatly when she's away. I've had nothing but positive experiences with Oak Grove Kennel -- and I highly recommend them!
