BASH - Inside the venue

BASH

We had our wedding reception at BASH, and I genuinely can't imagine a better experience. From the…read morevery beginning, it stood out as an incredible value--beautiful, flexible, and perfect for couples who want something special without blowing their budget. The space itself is absolutely stunning. It's one of those venues that can easily be dressed up to match any vision, but honestly, it looks amazing even on its own. Whether you're going for something simple or more elaborate, it gives you the freedom to make it completely your own. What really made the experience exceptional, though, was the staff. Everyone we worked with was fantastic--friendly, responsive, and clearly experienced. Aly was especially amazing: so knowledgeable and helpful every step of the way, which made the entire planning process feel easy and stress-free. We loved how customizable everything was. We brought in our own vendors, which helped us stay within budget, and the venue worked perfectly with our choice to use food trucks--such a fun and unique touch that our guests loved. It's also worth noting that they do have great partner options available too, including help with booking hotel blocks, which is super convenient. The bar setup was another highlight. Their build-your-own bar package is such a cool option, and Ayden was incredibly helpful in guiding us through it. He even offered to track down Malört for us (I'm a Chicago native, so that meant a lot!). We ultimately went with a cash bar, but his willingness to go above and beyond really stood out. Overall, BASH made our reception feel completely personalized and effortless. I would recommend it to absolutely anyone planning a wedding or any kind of event--you really can make it exactly what you want, and the team will support you every step of the way.

In case you're like me and didn't even know this place existed until you visited it: This is an event venue located in central Carmel, right off Keystone Parkway. I visited this venue for a community Iftar, which is a Muslim fast-breaking meal during Ramadan. I'm not Muslim, but I love learning about other people's cultures and beliefs, so when I was invited to attend this special meal, I was excited. Yay for delicious Middle Eastern food in a beautiful space! The event was amazing, and even though there were a lot of people in the room, it didn't feel crowded at all because there were lots of windows bringing in natural light, and lots of space to move around. I kept looking around and thinking how lovely the space was, with the twinkle lights on the ceiling and the long wooden tables. As a guest, I thought Bash was a great space to have a big event. There was lots of parking, too, which is always good.

They are dog friendly as long as you sit outside and I believe they also have a speak easy that's not easily found but so cool! We're coming back for line dancing and fun events! A great local hangout for families and singles alike The food is pretty good. It's a very casual setting in what appears to be a big red barn. Sometimes German fare like brats potato salad is on the menu. Love the whipped feta and cider donuts! I believe they have a soft serve ice cream machine which is great for kids especially in the summer. Thank you Payton and the lovely young lady who served us last night! You were both so friendly, kind, approachable and helpful! Keep an eye out of for all the cool happenings especially in the summer like hot air balloon launches and family friendly BBQ's. I believe they do have some igloos available this winter too! It's a fantastic event space for weddings and private events! Come check it out!

We had an igloo reservation. We had been looking forward to this since August, but our experience…read morewas a huge disappointment. We pre-ordered appetizers, drinks, and all 8 meals for our party of eight and even confirmed everything ahead of time--but the confirmation email didn't show the full order, which would have helped avoid all the chaos. When we arrived, some of our group were asked if the order was correct but weren't shown it, and they were given random flights that weren't the flavors they wanted. Drinks were eventually sorted, but some were wasted due to poor communication. The appetizers were fine, but the main courses were a disaster--cold, delayed, and only six of the eight meals arrived. Of those, only four were correct. By the time the food came out, there was no way to fix anything--two people went without meals, and two had to eat something they didn't want. Staff even argued that we hadn't ordered eight meals, which was completely wrong. For over $300, this was unacceptable. Poor service, miscommunication, and cold food ruined what should have been a fun night. We will not be coming back.

Coxhall Mansion - The Mansion

Coxhall Mansion

It's probably not surprising that Coxhall Mansion is within the Coxhall Gardens location in Carmel…read more Both are event venues exclusive to Ritz Charles, though they fall under the Hamilton County Parks leadership. I stumbled across it today while out driving around and waiting for an event I was attending. The mansion is a historic mansion that was inspired by the Governor's Mansion in Williamsburg, VA. It has multiple options for several events and has been updated by Hamilton County Parks. From the looks of things, those updates continue to be implemented. As a historic mansion, accessibility isn't perfect. Things have been made as accessible as possible - Hamilton County, in general, tries to do that. Event space on the main floor has space for 80 people for a sit-down event. If the patio is included, you could have 100 sit-down or 120 standing. There's also a third-floor music room that has space for 40 sit-down. If you need a larger space, Coxhall Gardens has several other options including an amphitheatre. It's super weird to think that this was a home. The land started with the John Williams family (No, not the Star Wars composer). They were early Hamilton County settlers and moved here in 1855. 10 years later, they built the Victorian home that still stands. Bricks were even made on-site. In 1958, a 40-year-old Jesse Cox and his wife would make a bid on the property - it was initially denied, however, a year later the property was still for sale. Finally, they were able to acquire it. In 1999, they donated it to Hamilton County Parks. Due to its historic nature, the mansion is often viewed separately from the rest of the gardens. This entire complex is pretty mesmerizing, however, Carmel has a long history of weaving together luxury, history, and practicality and this mansion is a great example.

I guess I just want every cocktail bar to be dimly lit and speak easy adjacent vibes. Turns out they aren't all that way. It is a smart design. Large and cozy chairs that you can really sit back and relax in! Fun to have windows into the operation. Service: Still unclear if you are meant to order at the bar or if the bartender also serves. The bartender that night took our order from our chairs but wasn't very attentive even when they appeared to not be busy. I realize there is a lot happening behind the scenes we aren't always privy to. So just fine service - nothing negative or over the top. Cocktails: Yes, please. I always think I'm not a bourdon drinker but then I get a bourbon drink and I question my identity and knowing. I ordered a fall fresh drink that I don't currently see on the menu! Gahhh. I thought they mentioned it was always on there. Well regardless it was a 10/10 and had the right amount of zing and not too sweet. I also had an espresso martini which is delish! Peep the Yelp love on the menu! I will always support a place that has NA options for my sober friends! I hadn't had dinner so I ordered the pulled pork nachos. The queso was orange and I'm partial to blanco queso forever and always amen. The pork wasn't smoked so what's the point, really? The jalapeños were fresh and bringing the heat. They were okay but wouldn't get them again. I'll go to half liter for my fix. Will I return? Absolutely.
