Came here for the NCAA Final Four Fan Fest 2026 and had a blast! The kids enjoyed themselves too. There was so much to do, see, and experience. From freebies to fun pop-ups with games, we spent a long time here and still didn't get to see everything. They really did a great job with this event. There were so many interactive activities, giveaways, photo booths, and even free haircuts, which was such a nice touch! One of the highlights was when my husband made a trick shot and won me a letterman jacket, the best prize of the day! I love it! Since we were there for a while, we ended up getting food, which was a little pricey, but the lady working was super nice and hooked us up. We ordered chicken tenders and got way more than we paid for, so that was a win. All of the kids walked away happy, tired, and full of fun memories. I'm so glad we got to experience this! read more

We had a fantastic time at the Indiana convention center, where well over 1000 of our attendees spent some time mingling and getting to know each other, playing games, and learning more about the mini offerings of Indianapolis. Situated very close to several major hotels, and a major outdoor concert venue, it is a location well within walking distance of each of those hotels, and several dining establishments when the appointed time arrives for dinner or lunch. This is one of the places that makes downtown Indianapolis. They go to location for events, weather for Indianapolis residence, regional residence, or for people attending from a further distance away. Came here for the NCAA Final Four fan fest. It was free to enter with my final four and championship ticket. I parked nearby at Lucas Oil Stadium and it was a short walk. The center itself is big and was very clean. There was plenty of helpful staff around to direct you as the place is very big and only one hall was being used for the event. The event itself was just okay and probably wouldnt have wanted to pay the $15 cost extra, but that has nothing to do with the host. Security was reasonable. read more

Easy entry thru the skywalk from plaza parking level 3 across the street! So entry is on skywalk so it's covered and if you are fortunate enough to get a covered parking spot (the roof is not covered level 8). Went for JamFest nationals 2026 and it was great. Big place but has lots of signs to guide you where you need to go. Lots stalls for restroom and they are fairly clean considering so many ppl use them all of the time. Every time I have went to the convention center I have not been disappointed. I had went to the convention center for WNBA All Star. They had a lot of different activation activities offered here. The workers were very nice. The convention center is very big so they can have different events in there. I know they had Black Expo and All star the same weekend inside there. Parking is not far from the place and it cost to park which the prices were okay. I do not mind attending events here. read more

I've visited the Convention Center 3 times so far this season and it is so beautiful how quickly they can revamp the space to fit the needs of each event! Between Comic Con, the Snacks and Sweets Expo, and the most recent Yu-Gi-Oh event -- I have had an incredible time meeting new friends, catching up with old ones, and exploring another part of the city that I don't visit often. Because of the convenient location downtown, there are SO many good food spots to take a break at -- Cafe Patachou and Conner's Kitchen + Bar being two of my favorites. While the lack of security getting into the building does make me feel a little more "on guard", I do appreciate seeing the friendly faces of the security team wandering throughout the rooms as the events take place. I look forward to visiting the Convention Center again within the coming months! There is always something happening and while big spaces and large crowds aren't really my thing, I feel very lucky to have a safe space to explore new interests! read more

Large, clean facility. Attended an Anime con (for my 16 yo daughter- I was Anime-"mom". Haha). It was held in a large hall, very spacious hall, very clean multiple-stall restrooms too. Came here for a large conference, the FDIC conference. This place is huge and it's connected to the indoor NFL stadium, the Lucas Oil Stadium. The connection is all indoors, which is nice to avoid inclement weather outside. The staff here seems to do a nice job managing all the attendees as well. Indiana convention center is a massive convention or Meeting area in downtown Indianapolis indiana. We usually come up here a few times a year for cheer competitions my 2nd oldest daughter competes in. The events are always ran really well and have ample space and rooms for teams to hang out in and large arena type rooms for the cheer comp and awards ceremonies. The convention center while having a few market style food options is right in the heart of the restaurant scene of Indianapolis. The convention center is also attached to the centre city mall and you can walk to it without going outside by using escalators and hallways. It also has an attached parking garage which has daily rates but you are able to pass through without walking out in the weather elements. Overall we have had really good experiences here and it is one of my daughters favorite reoccurring venues that she cheers at. read more

This is a nice convention center as far as convention centers go. It was built in 1972, but has undergone many renovations and expansions since then. It has 566,000 square feet of exhibit space. There are 71 meeting rooms, 11 exhibit halls and three multi-purpose ball rooms. The Convention Center is connected by enclosed skywalks to over 4,700 hotel rooms across 14 hotels, more than any other convention center in the nation. They host many events like Comic-Con, Future Farmers of America convention, Tradeshows, NCAA special events, NFL combine events, volleyball tournaments and cheer competitions to name a few. The staff there is very friendly and courteous and the place is immaculate, very well maintained and updated. There are many doors to enter here and it is connected to the many hotels such as the Westin, the Hyatt, the Crowne Plaza and JW Marriot by skywalks. You do not even have to go outside the hotel to get here. There is a door that lets out at the door step of Lucas Oil Stadium and another that lets out at Victory Field. There is a little concession stand in here and you will find some public art right outside of Door 1 (West Street door). Parking can get tricky. You may find some decent metered street parking nearby, which is free on Sundays. Or you may park in the adjoining garage which is connected to the convention Center on the 3rd floor by a skywalk. But the garage has what they call Event rates, which is 30 dollars and they do not do a good job posting the price hike outside of a little sign on the side. They got me good, but never again. It is best to have a parking plan and back-up plan before you go. I have enjoyed the events that I have attended here. It is a first class facility. There is no wonder why it was awarded USA Today's "#1 Convention City in the U.S." If you have to visit an event here you are lucky, especially if you are staying in one of the connected hotels. I would just look for parking a little further away, but walkable like one of the meters, or the mall or White River Park garages. Which are both pretty walkable. I find metered parking a lot of times in front of the Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center. read more

Oh my; where to begin. The convention center was buddy this weekend with the Indiana Comic convention and their mini Indy convention for the Indy 500. The best thing about the convention itself is its sky bridges that connect to five hotels and the mall. It's all inclusive. We stayed at the courtyard Marriott which was connected to the convention center by way of the jw Marriott sky bridge. It's open spacious design allowed for free flowing crowds; it's endless rooms and sections had us all over the place. They did a much better job utilizing the space for this year's convention. We were in attendance for Comic-Con. And it was amazing. It didn't have as many panels compared to previous years but their photo op lineup was probably the biggest it's been. The headliners, in my biased opinion, were Khary Payton (walking dead) and Grant Gustin (the Flash series). Khary didn't have a panel but it was awesome seeing the king in attendance. And Grant's panel was great. Such a humble young man. He really should've been in there DCU cinematic universe but that's an argument for another time. They didn't allow for Q&A which was a huge surprise considering the enormous turn out. The cosplay contest has never disappointed. And the penguin knife fight, which tours the Comic-Con scene is always entertaining. The Indiana, Tampa Bay, and ATL Comic-Con are all connected so if you're in those areas this is a great experience to explore your inner geek and let that flag fly. This year they even added concessions and food vendors in the convention center!!! That was a top notch addition. With that came added security which makes sense. My experience is from a weeklong work conference in Indianapolis, with several events being held at the ICC, which connected to our hotel, JW Marriott. Our company is in the material handling business, including forklifts. This space provided a huge venue to display equipment and vendor booths, later flipped to add staging and screens for presentations and a band. Knowing the live hours of our events I was amazed at "the flip" the team at ICC performed to reset the room and make it ready for the following morning. They also did a fantastic job with refreshment stations, including bartenders for evening events. On a Thursday evening we were switched to a smaller room for a tailgate before the Colts game. Again the venue was set up nicely for buffet eating, bartenders for beer and a stage for a lone performer. Our crowd wasn't limited to inside the room but also the space outside its doors with refreshments and tables set up there. I really appreciated the connection of the ICC to various hotels. The Skywalk was well maintained and spacious for the crowds. Another advantage was its connection to the Lucas Oil Stadium for our Thursday night Colts vs Jets game. How wonderful to not worry about heavy coats and walking outdoors. Great experience for our major annual event! No complaints as an attendee about the staff or venue space of the ICC. read more

However, no sanitizing the seats after each game for the players, no water or concession stand. Germs constantly being passed from players. $30 to park daily, on top of the event $50/person for the weekend even if you're only there for one day. Overall, it's a huge beautiful clean convention center so I can't blame them for the actual basketball event, which I'd give a zero, but who charges $30/parking. We ubered. read more

There are multiple rooms so the event can be spread out and you don't feel like you're on top of everyone. Rating more than this building alone, I love the sense of community and the amount of amazing visitors that the Indiana Convention Center brings into the city. The multiple, massive ballrooms allow for swarms of people and several events at one time. The tall ceilings seem to stretch on for forever and there are several options of tech capabilities. The convention center connects to the Circle Centre Mall (with several food options) and a hotel, which is LIFESAVING in the winter months. A mixed bag Overall this is a very nice convention center. The A/V setup for the halls were quite excellent; there were no problems with hearing presentations in the larger halls. The halls and rooms were kept at a confortable temperature. Also, on a whole, the center was pretty clean, with exception of a couple restrooms. For the most part, the staff were very friendly. However, there were quite a few nasty staff members that were working the dining hall. Speaking of dining, the food was pretty meh. That said, I really do not expect amazing food at conventions so I did not mind too much. However, the desserts were pretty tasty. I don't know if this was an issue with the convention center or the organizers of our event. I noticed that on a couple of occasions kitchen ran out of the vegetarian option. The vegetarian option was listed on attendees badges, but I do not believe the service staff were checking. Since the meat option was not great, I think many folks were taking the vegetarian option even though they did not request it during registration. One server told an attendee, "oh, just pick the meat off of the plate". Fortunately, the convention center is near a lot of great restaurants. One added plus is that the convention center is connected to some of the hotels and stores, which is great during winter. read more

Indianapolis is consistently ranked one of the best convention centers in the country, and the world-class Indiana Convention Center (ICC) is one of the many reasons why. For one, it's huge (and thus easy to get lost in, at times). For example: Indy hosts 60,000+ people for GenCon each summer here. I've never been inside the ICC during a convention, but I imagine when there is an event in town there is clear signage on where to go, as there can be many conferences happening at once under the same roof. For hosting so many thousands of people, the ICC has yet to show signs of wear and tear (that I can see) - it's always clean. Perhaps the biggest perk is the ICC is within walking distance of countless hotels and restaurants - some are even connected by skywalk! Lucas Oil Stadium and Bankers Life Fieldhouse are a stone's throw away, and you're near attractions like the Indianapolis Zoo and other museums. The convention center is a huge venue It is centrally located downtown and a close walk from the hotels, restaurants and circle center mall. From the outside it does not look nearly as large as it is. This is an ideal location for a conference which is what brought me here. There are several rooms on two levels with an elevator and escalator to access the upper floor. The rooms are large and comfortable.The only negatives are the temperature is cold and I only saw one place to purchase food and drinks other then vending machines. read more

This weekend, I had the opportunity to volunteer at PopCon at the merchandise table. It was a blast people watching, talking to new people and making new friends. It was fun! One of the biggest venues on this side of the Mississippi River; I suggest bringing a water bottle and comfortable shoes, and printed map of the building. Know what the security restrictions are for the event that you are attending. Always have a picture state/federally verified ID on you at all times. The restrooms are always clean. Food and drinks are available for purchase at some of the concession stands. There are water coolers randomly placed throughout the building. The catering office staff is always really helpful in planning your event and helping to find your way around the building. Be advised that it is connected to Lucas Oil Stadium. So make certain of where you are supposed to be for your event. read more

Thanks to hubby, I attended WWETT 2016 formerly known as PUMPER. May I just say...WOW!!! Who knew poop could be such a huge money maker. Come to think of it, isn't there a startup company in SF that ships poop to people you dislike with a stinky message, literally? Those guys are laughing all the way to the bank. Hmmm, why didn't I think of this awesome idea? Anyway, I guess we all have to eat, it's gotta go somewhere LOL! If not for this show, how can one educate and showcase such information and rare tools? WWETT is definitely an eye-opener on how times have changed in the sewer industry. This show brings in all kinds of people. I perused the numerous displays and 411 about the good 'ole days when wooden pipes were used, interesting. I loved checking out the fancy port-a-potties, if only they had bidets in them HA! It's not just about poop, it's learning about water. We all know how precious water is, especially California - we're in a drought! I'm glad to hear this spectacular show will be held in Indianapolis for another seven years. I can't imagine another city trying to accommodate a gazillion oversized trucks and massive heavy equipment into their town. I like how everything is under one roof, unlike other cities that have hosted such an event, they have separate areas for viewing due to lack of space. If you're unlucky, you get the basement as an exhibitor...no foot traffic there! My son learned valuable information during WWETT 2016 and had a blast. Who knows, he might be inspired to work with dad someday in this field ~ dynamic duo in the making! Thank you Indiana Convention Center for hosting WWETT. The networking event at Colts Stadium was epic. We missed the country concert...too much to do, so little time. A job well done!!! read more

Just spent three days here for a business conference and I was very impressed. The facility has a great location - in close proximity to the Circle City Mall and 4 major hotels- the Downtown Marriott, the J W Marriott, the Hyatt and the Westin. Everything is interconnected with walkways so you don't have to set foot outdoors if you don't want to. Our meeting rooms were comfortable with plenty of room for everyone. The audio and video in the meeting rooms was trouble free. The food was stellar- Huge munches for 2,000 folks was handled flawlessly and the dishes- chicken, pasta, fish, BBQ, were all pretty darned tasty. The only room for improvement was the temperature in the meeting rooms-I was freezing!! read more

I've been to many events at the convention center over the years. The center is located in the heart of downtown within walking distance to restaurants and sporting facilities. It is amazing how many wonderful events that the center hosts throughout the year. However, the building is dark inside with dated worn carpet. There is no sense of center, just a lot of halls. I can't understand why Indy has not invested in a state of the art modern facility. This is an important venue for out of town guests. C'mon Mayor, let's get this place updated. read more

Huge convention center - I'm here this weekend for the Indiana comic con. Pros: -There are a few food choices (one or two tiny food courts) -Lots of bathrooms, most of which are clean. The one in between the halls have little private rooms for nursing mothers too, which is a nice touch. -Lots and lots of space Cons: -No maps of the convention center anywhere, really. I've been using the comic con app instead which has a map. -Doesn't have its own parking garage though there are some ($$$) nearby. -It's a little TOO big, ha ... Makes it hard to navigate. Well, a few things come to mind like food selection, bathroom locations, natural light, art or evidence that thought was given to reflecting the center's surroundings, along with proximity to downtown attractions, restaurants and hotels. The nitty gritty: *walkability, walkability, walkability: Indy has GOT it going on. Within a stone's throw of the Center you can find dozens of restaurants, plenty of hotels and great attractions (State Museum, Eiteljorg, White River State Park, Zoo, Rhythm Discovery Center, you name it). *bathroom locations are all easily accessible from any given space in the building *natural light is lacking other than in the front/entry points of the building - a few skylights and more artwork (by local artists?) wouldn't hurt read more

Call me slightly disappointed on this one. The location is great. Variety of rooms for workshops, performances, and banquets is good. BUT I participated in both a luncheon and brunch and the food was not up to par. Your typical rubber chicken, dry desserts, and lack of flavor. The temperature is a real issue. I've come here many times over the years for pre-race packet pick up and expos for the Mini and Monumental Marathons. This place is huge, and you'd think I'd have learned by now to check the email about packet pick up for the exact location BEFORE starting to wander the convention center looking for it...pro tip....definitely know which hall/room you're headed to before you start wandering...those are well marked on signs, but there isn't extra signage for specific events, and there really isn't ever anyone to ask for information/directions. Anyway, the convention center is a great place for events like this, as they have plenty of room for the packet pick up as well as all the vendors selling running related products. Parking in the mall world of wonders garage is inexpensive and you can get from there to the convention center without going outside. With regard to Covid, as of early November 2021, there was almost no one wearing masks, and there were a bunch of pretty crowded events going on, so if you aren't ready for that, this might not be the place to come just yet. read more

Attended the Indianapolis Comic Con this weekend up in Indy and I have to say I was impressed! There was a LARGE turnout but also enough room to find a seat to take a break or grab a bite to eat. The facilities were extremely clean and connected to many skywalks that are connected to adjacent hotels. Although we didn't stay the night at one of these hotels I have to say from experience that having the ability to easy access from your room to the convention center is a huge plus, especially if the weather is bad. Parking wasn't too much of an issue, My husband and I parked by Lucas Oil Stadium for $18 and had a shuttle service for free that ran every 7 minutes. Only come here for Gencon and I think they do a great job accommodating the convention and its goers. When it comes to a review for a place like this there is only a few small things that can make it amazing. They have plenty of places to sit, not enough space to eat. Plenty of concessions to get food but sometimes the workers get overwhelmed and don't forecast enough food. Bathrooms are mostly clean unless they are in the main hall, those ones can get real dirty and they don't have people posted there to clean when need be. Comfortable, never too hot, modern looking. I've come to this convention center at least five times (once a year) to attend the annual Gen Con (gaming convention). The facilities and staff have always done a admirable job of handling all the logistics and services necessary to run a smooth event. Gen Con typically exceeds 70,000 attendees over four days and I've always had a great time and at least part of that is due to how well managed this convention center is. Many hotels are connected to the main facility and accessible by skywalk and there is a tunnel that leads directly to the Lucas oil stadium. If you book the right hotel that means you never have to venture outdoors to brave the elements. The whole interior network is like a self contained ecosystem of commerce where you can enjoy good meals at fine restaurants, play all manner of games and attend all kinds of events within a nice climate controlled and safe environment. I always look forward to coming here every year. Of course the central location of the convention center in downtown Indianapolis also allows those more adventuresome souls to go beyond the confines of the halls to try out a variety of different restaurants such as the local microbrewery and pub the Ram (I recommend the Voltaic Vixen) to the more conventional chain staples in the near bye mall. At the end of the day, if you are planning or attending a event than this convention center is worth considering. read more

In so far as convention centers go, this one is really quite good. There is ample room and different room configuration options for many different types of events and activities and staff are pretty quick at turning a room around for different events or activities. This convention center is within walking distance of many hotels, restaruants and other amenities in Indianapolis and has coffee shops within it as well. Even when several different events are sharing the convention center there is often ample room in the hallways for folks from these different events. Because of inclement weather, it is nice that it is connected to many hotels and the mall via pedway as well. Digital monitors also list different events and activities happening throughout the complex. The bathrooms are well maintained and reasonably plentiful given the space configurations. It's nice to have so much conference/convention space available within walking distance of so much downtown in Indianapolis. read more

After having attended the Gen Con convention for 5 years in a row and seeing the numbers grow to full capacity this year, I am continually impressed at how the place runs like a well oiled machine. Having 70,000 nerds descend upon on location is gonna be tough for any facility that is not on a futuristic ship in the Star Trek universe. Sorry, another yelper just showed up and gave me a wedgie after that last comment. The building and facilities all are maintained and kept fairly clean. As an exhibitor I am surprise how well it all goes. Everything seems to run like a well oiled machine. Indianapolis is a small city with big aspirations. It seemingly can handle large events with ease. If I had to make one complaint, it would be about the gruffness of the guys working the docks. Though that does sort of fit exactly into my stereo type of what those guys are like. One morning we showed up early since we thought the exhibitor hall was open to exhibitors at 8, like the previous day. We got screamed at by some guy who could have just calmly explained the issue. This one, even though having gone through a recent renovation and expansion, is decent but nothing spectacular. Good air conditioning, clean, spacious, all the bells and whistles as I expected. What I did not expect was the lack of food options here. Most convention centers food offerings stink to begin with, so I expected more out of this place. Nope - still mosty crap and not enough healthy options. Also, there just seems to be not enough food stands throughout the facility. Good thing there are a lot of restaurants within walking distance. What is good about the place is that it is connected to the Circle Centre Mall and close by hotels by a skywalk, so going ouside during inclement weather is not the only option. Overall, this is a nice serviceable convention center in a convenient location. Easy to get to with hotels, shopping, and dining all within a few minutes walk. read more

So many great things to say about this place, however, I'll just write about my most recent visit. The IBE Summer Celebration's Music Heritage Festival I was moved from outdoors to inside the Convention Center within a couple days due to a storm forecast. This concert has been held in American Legion Mall for decades, and it's always something to look forward to for the venue, the performers, food vendors, and plenty of folks camp out most of the day and make it a full day affair. When the change was made, they had to quickly make changes and move to the CC and that couldn't have been easy. Although IBE had several other things going on inside, moving an event of this magnitude had to be quite the undertaking. There were a few bars, and food booths open to purchase from, and there were seats for everyone instead of bringing your own or standing. Kudos to all involved for making he transition as smooth as possible. read more
