Lots of carnival games were set up to open this afternoon. The Beehive cafe offers air conditioned, clean dining courtesy of the Boone County Extension Homemakers. I had a $5 Pork Tenderloin, which was a great deal. I also enjoyed watermelon and fried mushrooms, but used great restraint to not indulge in the locally made pies. The people are salt-of-the-earth friendly with a common love of agriculture. This year, there were more food trucks than in past years. I saw funnel cakes, corn dogs, blooming onions and much more. Lots of animals, exhibits and events are scheduled throughout the event. I don't know what "barrel racing" is, but it's happening tonight. Parking and admission are still FREE, so you can use all your money on food! Parking was easy in and out. This is a great small town fair with reasonable prices and lots of fun. The fair runs July 29-26.

What was amazing and appreciated is the fairground not only had the buildings air conditioned but also had connecting tunnels between buildings. So it felt like being in one big building. Each building had access to indoor restrooms that were very well maintained. Participants RVs had access to set ups directly next to the buildings so it wasnt a long hike to show ones dogs. Regular parking wasnt far away. Plus plenty of handicapped spots. Really liked this venue. Would come here again. I would attend this venue again.

It was one of the most memorable Pride events I've been to presented by Indy Pride due to the unique venue and atmosphere. This past Wednesday, I had another opportunity to visit Tinker House for a Sound Bath presented by BFF Indy. It was a very different experience as the intention was a more meditative one opposed to a party with a DJ the last time I was there. It was still daylight when I arrived and mostly empty which made it convenient and ideal to explore the bridal suite and take pictures of the venue without any obstructions. The Sound Bath was held on the dance floor with lots of natural light surrounding us. I love the idea of the Sound Bath in this fun space. Although, I've had them in the past at a yoga studio which was MUCH quieter. My constructive criticism is that there is too much noise coming from the traffic outside (especially because this was at 5pm during rush hour) even on the second story of the building to relax and get the full benefits of a Sound Bath. There were no blankets, pillows or yoga mats either which isn't necessarily the responsibility of Tinker House but still something to be noted for future events. BFF Indy should have given attendees a heads up to bring their own supplies because sitting on a hard wood floor where people dance and walk on with shoes that have just been outside downtown is rather off putting and took away from the overall experience. The facilitator did an amazing job all things considered. I will go back for events in the future just not if they are supposed to be relaxing. Tinker House is ideal for social gatherings like weddings and parties. The decor is aesthetically appealing and very well thought out. There is a ambient bar/lounge on the first floor in addition to the one upstairs. There is limited parking in front of the building and a coffee shop next door.

This is a beautiful venue that offers both the ability to do your wedding or event outside or inside. We were able to have an outdoor wedding ceremony in Feb in Indy. This was what the Bride was really hoping for and she got her wish. The whole experience was wonderful. Patti and her team made sure that everything was perfect and went off without any issues. The food was fantastic! The bar staff was there to serve cocktails and drinks with a smile. They made great drinks. The staff was friendly and was always willing to help if needed. If you are planning a wedding or an event you should do it here. Nice downtown location with a large nice rooftop. Thank you Patti and team for making my son and daughter-in-laws wedding a fun and spectacular occasion.

Regions took care of flowers, decorations, food, design - literally everything!! They made day of so smooth and continuously made sure everything was going smoothly for myself and my husband. They answered every single one of my concerns that I thought could happen during the wedding and had plans A B C D ready to go should anything not go according to plan. For this event, we had the opportunity of working with The Indy Pavillion's production team. We loved working closely with Jason and Dustin to bring our vision for this event to life. When tackling production for this event, we needed to figure out where to start, Jason and Dustin communicated, planned, and worked with us to create the best production plan for Unveiled. Renting production equipment and other event essentials through them was a seamless process; when it came time for our event, their team worked vigorously beside us the week and day of Unveiled. We honestly wouldn't have been able to create all that Unveiled was without Indy Pavillion's passion and team!

So I guess my first comment on the venue is that maybe they should consider doing something surrounding branding or advertising so people know it exists. But I took a chance because free Fall Out Boy and got in to the event! It was a frigid night and the line was long but the folks running line management were nice and once doors opened the line moved smoothly. They had multiple heaters set up along the way and the stanchions made sense and were easy to follow. Once inside everyone who'd been waiting line for at least an hour made a bee line to the bathroom - where we all again stood in a line but it too moved fast. It was odd as we had to cross the entire venue and it appeared as though there is just one bathroom for the place which wasn't quite big enough for a crowd that size. There were bars at the back and a VIP section I did not interact with. The show and acoustics were good for a place that's main aesthetic is empty warehouse. The lighting was actually really nice because there was nothing for it to interfere with. Fall Out Boy of course was awesome and now I can say I got to try out a new venue and see one of my all time favorite bands for free!

The Artsgarden is special to me because my daughter was married in the Garden seven years ago. This…read moreweek, my granddaughter was part of a choir concert held in the Garden. The glass dome is beautiful, with the city bustling outside. Winter is my favorite time to be in the Garden. The Garden, built in 1995, connects Circle Center Mall with the Conrad and parking garage. Circle Center is currently undergoing renovations, so foot traffic is low through the Garden. The Garden spans over the famous Washington Street in the heart of downtown Indy. A historical plaque describing Washington Street is located on the east side inside the dome. A sculpture hang from the roof, a small mural is on one side and plants line the central atrium. A few benches and tables are scattered for visitors to sit and enjoy the tranquility of the space. The Garden is managed by the IndyArts Council. The Council sponsors art, concerts and also rents out the Garden for events. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. City parking is available in nearby garages, although the adjacent garage was closed during my visit this week. I found free parking in the Circle.

Montage on Allison Pointe is an event venue operated by the Kahn's Catering family that is located…read morejust west of 82nd and Allisonville Road in the Allison Pointe complex. It's a waterside facility with four distinct special event rooms with each having private entrances and patios. This is valuable as it allows your own event to have a sense of privacy as was the case today when Heartland International Film Festival hosted its awards ceremony in one of the larger rooms while a wedding held an event in another area and had their own private entrance. You can tell this facility has undergone some renovations. It's also one of the more wheelchair friendly event venues I've been to in Indy. The front entrance has a row of accessible parking spots, and I mean truly accessible, and nearly every place I went to in the venue was easily accessed in my wheelchair. While the speaker's podium wasn't accessible, and I was one of the speakers, there's really no way to know if this was because of the actual venue or if it had been mentioned by the event. However, because the microphones could be easily hand-held it was a minor issue and easy to overcome. They offer a sensory technology AV system, exclusive catering, exclusive bartending, and more. Every event rental includes both 60" and 72" round tables, 6' and 8' banquet tables, decorative banquet chairs, china, glassware and silverware, tall and short cocktail tables, and simple silver centerpieces. Weddings also include a dance floor and an easel for escort boards. Enhancements include the AV equipment, coat check service and other items. Every event space has the water view - it's stunning. The event spaces include The Champagne Room, The Riesling Room, The Chardonnay Room, and the Cabernet Room. They also have a garden available for rental and you can rent the entire facility. The majority of the packages include catering minimums. The rooms are exquisite - elegant and formal, yet comfortable and fun. The patios, as near as I could tell, were all easily wheelchair friendly and the facility actually advertises accessibility. The main entrance is level to the ground. If there's one area where I'd poke a little bit of fun, it's in their online brochures - I found about a half dozen obvious typos in one document. I'd advise getting those fixed as it truly is a reflection of not being detail oriented and for a higher-end event space that's not the message you want to send. The staff? They were attentive, friendly, and super efficient without ever being invasive. While I didn't have a ton of food since I was speaking, what I did have was excellent. Overall, I was super impressed and would easily return. I'm always excited when an event space or luxury space goes out of the way to ensure accessibility and such is the case at Montage. With plenty of space options, this is a terrific venue option for weddings, special events, workshops, awards ceremonies or just about anything else you can think of in the corporate/organizational world.

Great venue for any type of event. The building is designed very nicely with tall ceilings, nice…read morelighting, lots of long windows, outdoor benches/pond, nice big spacious kitchen with cooler, separate bridal room, and large stage. It can be decorated up easily for fancier events. Mike/Jamie coordinate booking, but I was especially impressed with Karen and her husband who helped coordinate things day of event. They are very flexible with access to the building and overall customer service is great. One negative is the cost of rent is a little higher than similar venues (~$2500-$3500 depending on the day) and there is no extra amenities provided (no tablecloths/linens/silverware , no servers, etc) that many other similar venues provide. That said, the hall fits 500 people and you can easily change around tables/chairs since the rent isn't based on chairs. They set-up however you'd like everything. Most of the communication is over email with Jamie. Another negative is AV system coordination is not great. I asked Karen throughout the set-up how to work the TVs/mic and she said her husband would 'come soon'. But we didn't get the mic/TV coordinated until the middle of the event after I kept asking. We had this issue the first time I did an event with Grand Hall too - at that time Jamie/Mike were not able to help set-up/explain the system and we ended up not having a working mic the whole evening. Overall recommend this venue especially if you're having a big event and/or want things to be a little spaced out.
