The Nest Event Center is located in Greenwood just off I-65 at Main Street. The parking lot is quite large and will accommodate a large event. The interior is amazing and you'd never know it was a former restaurant. The lobby area is very attractive, decorated in beiges and cream, and I could see using this for cocktails, a reception line plus so much more. It worked well tonight for purchasing tickets plus an area to sit and relax while enjoying the fireplace. The versatile ballroom is quite large and can handle everything from a wedding, conference to special events. One of those special events is the Holiday Craft Show tonight. The Event Center has a neutral color scheme and can accomadate most bridal or conference color schemes. This proved to be true with all the colors associated with the Holiday Craft Show. Tonight all different color schemes were used and all the crafts looked wonderful. With this neutral backdrop any decor theme would work nicely allowing brides or companies a great deal of flexibility and creativity. The Holiday Craft Show was a huge draw. Many different types of vendors filled the ballroom carrying Christmas decor, wreaths, jewelry, clothing, wool mittens, woodworking projects, signs, candles, crocheted items, lap blankets, floral arrangements and much more. There truly was something for most anyone's interest and many gift ideas. In the future I would like to take an official tour and checkout pricing for a yearly event I'm involved with. This is a beautiful venue with endless potential.

It took me two full years after our wedding to cool down enough to write this review. I do not…read morewrite negative reviews lightly, especially about small businesses. I only do so when I feel that I have been disrespected on a human level. At first, Cami appeared warm and promising. She emphasized that she was Catholic, just like my wife and me, which felt meaningful given that we were having a Catholic wedding. That sense of shared values helped build trust. That façade ended the moment we signed the venue agreement. From that point on, her demeanor changed completely. Whatever image she claims through religion is not reflected in her actions. She is not the Catholic person she presents herself to be, and in our experience, that claim served only as a veil for behavior that was cruel, dismissive, and deeply unkind. Her behavior was ugly not only toward me, but toward my wife and our wedding planner as well. Throughout the planning process and during the events themselves, her temperament was consistently nasty, hostile, and confrontational. There was a complete absence of empathy or basic human decency, which is especially shocking given the importance and emotional weight of the occasion she was entrusted to support. If you are a person of color or come from a different culture, I strongly urge you to stay away from this establishment. The fair pricing may seem appealing at first, but it is not worth the disrespect that comes with it. The treatment you will receive from the owner will undo months or even years of careful planning, intention, and emotional investment. Our wedding was a two-day event: a cultural ceremony on the first day and a traditional reception on the second. Well in advance, I clearly explained which actions would be considered deeply disrespectful in my culture. Despite explicit conversations and agreements, Cami proceeded to do the opposite. In the middle of our cultural ceremony, she began bringing out trash bags to collect a few used plastic cups, an action that is deeply disrespectful in my culture, entirely unnecessary, and profoundly disruptive. As the groom, I had to leave my seat during the ceremony to confront her. She was unapologetic and dismissed my concerns, stating she needed to "get ready for the next day," even though we still had two full hours remaining in the event we had paid for. Unprovoked, she used vulgar and inappropriate language when speaking to members of my family--people who had traveled thousands of miles to attend our wedding. The second day was no better. The open bar was shut down two hours early, we were served significantly less food than contracted, and the alcohol brands provided were not what we had agreed upon. At the end of the reception, I asked a server if my guests or I had done anything to offend the owner. Her response was simple and chilling: "No, it's not you. That's just who Cami is. I'm sorry." The most lasting memory of my wedding is not the music, the dancing, or the celebration--it is the nastiness of the venue owner. Even now, when my wife brings it up, I try to minimize it, not because it didn't matter, but because I don't want to further tarnish her memory of our wedding. I will never forgive myself for choosing this venue, and I sincerely hope no one else is left with the same regret.

I had the privilege of attending an event at VisionLoft Events, a three-location Indiana…read more(technically, I think Stutz is considered one location that includes event center/Stutz Car Museum) center weaving together strong personality, high-tech capabilities, and a nice personalization of atmosphere. Started by Julie and Dan Johnston, VisionLoft is a beautiful space that is ideal for business events, wedding receptions, and a number of other special events that would benefit from a comfortable atmosphere and strong tech (You'd be amazed how hard that combination is to find). This is located in downtown Indy, of course, and is adjacent to Wheeler Mission (It works. Let your biases go.). You enter through a two-sided glass doorway. There's a beautiful fireplace and bar area, wood floors, a greenery area, modern seating (clear, quietly dignified), and as someone who was a speaker during the event I liked that I didn't have to go up on a stage. VisionLoft utilizes several caterers as options including some right from Mass Avenue. The event I attended utilizes Nameless Catering, a caterer I've been familiar with and a caterer I've long appreciated. People were friendly, the atmosphere was comfortable, and service was strong throughout. Parking can be along nearby streets or parking garages (it's all paid). For those getting married in nearby churches or on Monument Circle, this would be an amazing reception option. I did not try the restrooms, though they are labeled as accessible and there's an obvious effort at accessibility at both front and back entrances (odds are the back entrance is ramped also for the caterers). Where I feel obligated to drop what would definitely be a 5-star review is in that area of accessibility. Even upon arrival (before the crowd), moving around was a tad difficult given the table layout. Once people arrived? It was close to impossible - this created the inability to really enjoy the food (or even get to it) and the bar. By the end of the event, I was starved and hit Mass Avenue (fortunately, a close journey of 1-2 blocks). As someone who deals with accessibility on a daily basis, I saw easy tweaks that could have been done to ensure everyone could enjoy the space. It seems like the intention was there, however, in terms of accessibility it definitely fell a bit short (I don't have this experience at Stutz, by the way. It's clear this company cares about access because they went way above and beyond at Stutz). Overall, this is a beautiful space that I definitely recommend. The atmosphere is modern yet also personal and and warm. The high-tech features are great. The acoustics worked quite well for speakers. The proximity to major downtown attractions is for sure awesome. I would definitely return, however, I might shy away from a sold-out or I might simply encourage some advanced planning to improve accessibility.

Bathrooms were tidy, coffee was plentiful as were sodas and waters throughout the day, and it's walkable to the City Market which makes taking a tasty lunch break easy to do. It's located about 5 minutes from Whitestown on the NW side of Indy in the countryside. Just 3 miles off of I-65, one exit north of the Zionsville exit and less than 30 minutes from downtown Indy. The barn is two stories with a flight of stairs. I'm not sure of the barn capacity but I would think this is best for a small to medium size event. The free Holiday Market had approximately 18 - 20 vendors in attendance. Cork and Wine Barrel was there along with a jewelry artist, a tattoo artist and Fantasy face painter, chocolate and cookie makers, a candle maker, a variety of signs, a small boutique, a lap blanket quilter and an artist displaying her oil paintings. One of the vendors, Keepsakes By Design, does personalized itching in glass cookware which is perfect for our bakers in the family. A couple of small food and beverage vendors were onsite with BBQ sandwiches, hot chocolate and soda. I found several vendors that is perfect for hostess gifts and family Christmas presents. So glad we took the time to visit today.

They have a surface level parking lot which was free to attendees. As you know, going downtown 99% of the time requires paid parking, so the fact they have a parking lot made the evening that much smoother in the rain. The venue space is spacious and perfect for weddings, parties, and other special events. The women's restroom was super cute! It has a lounge area with a couch and a few chairs before entering the actual restroom. The space was nicely decorated, clean, and smelled FABULOUS! Overall, I had a great time at my event and would highly recommend this space for any event.

All of the staff that we encountered were friendly and on top of it. I can only speak for the space as an attendee versus the actual event planner. It felt like such an intimate experience! When you walk in, you get to walk past the stage area and can see all the candles and even though they're battery operated, it still makes the space look so cozy and inviting. Once we were seated, the musicians came out and played select pieces from many of the Miyazaki movies. The audience was respectful and quiet which really helped in a space like that to hear properly. The musicians performed so well and I'd love to come back for another show! The time goes by super fast (granted it's only about an hour).
