    Wine tasting

I got a Groupon for here for a wine tasting for two. The place is very relaxed and hippie looking inside. The bartender was very helpful in making our wine decisions for our flight and very attentive. I went in on a week night around 7pm and we were the only ones there. We stood at the bar the whole time as he gave us our choice of 5 different wines to try. It was also cool to hear the story of the owners and their mindset and start up of the winery. The wine was pretty good. I didn't have any worth buying a bottle of but did have a great time and will try to come back on one of their live music nights.

Absolutely found this little place so comfortable and charming. The decoration, along with seating, provides an indoor or outdoor experience. The atmosphere was very calming. This location does not provide food however, you may bring your own food or, in this case, charcuterie spread. They also offer a party area to host for any large group event. Happy they have activities such as reading, coloring, and even have a TV for a possible sports game watch if your were solo. The cost for the wine is average, and the tasting was very reasonable. These are wines imported from California, so their selection is not sweet, which is a personal favorite. I chose to taste their reds, and each flavor combo was better than the one before! It's great they provide the wine profile for you to review on your own time.

Just had my daughter's bridal shower at Peace Water. LOVED the venue from the moment I saw it. Very affordable, great people to work with. Everything was set up exacted as requested. There was even a huge storm the night before and owners came in to squeegee the patio before we arrived so it was dry. Great friendly relaxed vibe.

I was waiting for my to-go food couple doors down, so decided to stop by Peace Water Winery. It was a beautiful day and I wanted to sip on some wine while waiting. I was immediately greeted by Stef who is so bubbly and friendly! I know nothing about wine except how to drink it, so I told Stef I wanted something light and a little sweet. I don't remember what she gave me because we were engaged in conversation, but whatever she gave me was delicious! I sat in the back outside with my family and it was a beautiful day. I really enjoyed my wine, but especially enjoyed the service I received from Stef. Will definitely be back!

As related to Indiana and wine... this place passed our expectations. Open and honest, the wine is California wine that local owners have capitalized on. It exceeded our expectations. We got a Groupon and we tried 5-6 different wines. I discovered I actually like three of five and bought a Cab-Sav. The other favs was a California Blend- "21 windows" which was light and berry filled notes. The Rose' was not dry or super sweet, it was refreshingly light and flavorful without tannin. Super nice. We came home with the Cab Sav. We are Deep Red Peidmont and Tuscan fans and Cab Sav Louis Martini fans... for point of reference. Looking forward to returning while strolling around art district with Marlee our dog for company.

Stephanie was absolutely a GEM she wast extremely informative and showed us a couple wine tricks . We ended up getting the membership, NEVER pressured into it, instead she informed us and educated us on what we "thought" we liked and what we actually paired up with. I can absolutely tell she cares about her role and overall experience,10:10 experience. I cannot put a price on rapport building and this young wonderful lady DID THAT !!! and she absolutely understood the assignment and I was able to meet some members! thank you steff !

Fantastic place, both at the Carmel and Indianapolis downtown locations. First came here last June for their awesome Groupon wine tasting experience, and my mom was hooked immediately with the vibes and personable workers. She got a membership and we've been coming every month since. So much fun to hang out here over a glass of wine, especially since a percentage of the profits go to various charities. This place is just in general great vibes when you walk in! Dogs are allowed too! I really like the back porch in the Carmel location during the summer because you can sit outside and enjoy the weather. So quaint and on weekends they have live music!

Valentine's day was so cute at peacewater. It was decorated and the music had our group in a fun mood. Ashley was so great, took pics for and with us, kept us hydrated with water, and of course the wine. We love this place!

Peace Water Carmel, My wife and I have been wine club members here for 3 years it's the only winery of Indiana that we frequent often that's because they source their grapes from California as we are used to since being from the Central Coast of California for many many years. You just can't find the quality and the in-depth aromas along with the intense flavors in the Midwest as you do with the Wines from Peace Water!

Thin crusts with the right amount of sauce, cheese and good quality toppings. Fair warning, specialty pizzas are only available during weekends. Simple topping pizzas on Mondays and Tuesdays. The highlight of our meal was the baked Brie. Warm, creamy and gooey cheese that was complimented well with a fig jam and baguette slices. The drink selection was great. Lots of variety and even frozen alcohol slushies. Service was great at the counter and very helpful in selecting food and drink items.

Confession: I'm not the biggest fan of Indiana wine. (This isn't actually a confession or a secret…read more I will gladly tell anyone who will listen that I don't like Indiana wine.) It's usually way too sweet for my palate, even the dry wine. But the wine I tasted at Urban Vines was really good! Could it be that I can no longer say that I don't like Indiana wine? If you like dry wine like I do, I suggest sticking to the Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah. Those were the red wines that I chose for my wine flight, plus the Pinot Gris from the white wine section. These were all delicious and dry enough for me. (If we're really quibbling, they were still slightly sweeter than I like, but I realize Indiana wine can only go so dry.) Mostly, though, Urban Vines is ideal for people who like sweeter wines. The people who see "cotton candy" on the wine bottle and think, "Yes, this is what I want. I want my wine to taste like liquified sugar." That said, I did taste a sample of the Wine-A-Rita, which is a sweet wine infused with agave and lime, and served on ice. Whoo! That's a nice little sippin' drink. I could see killing a couple of glasses of that on a hot Indiana summer evening. I should also mention: The pours that they give you for the wine flights are generous! More than generous, actually. I am no wine lightweight, and I could feel the sweet and bitter fruits flowing nicely throughout my bloodstream by the time I took my last sip. Luckily, Urban Vines has food to offset all of the wine. I came for a pizza flight, but they weren't offering them when I visited, so I got the margherita pizza instead, which came with torn pieces of basil, marinated and roasted tomatoes, and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar. It was very tasty! They also offer things like boards (veggie boards, breadstick boards, cheese boards, meat boards), plus salads and desserts. They also offer brunch on the weekends. This is a pleasant little place to hang out and enjoy wine and food. It's also family-friendly -- they have a small playground that's near the patio seating, so you can relax and also watch your kids play. Urban Vines is a nice place to unwind with some wine and food, and just enjoy the day.

This place is seriously adorable! I was just minding my own business, Googling wineries near me (as…read moreone does), when this gem popped up. Naturally, we made brunch plans. True to form, I almost missed the turn and had to pull off a dramatic last-second brake maneuver, shout out to the empty road behind me. The parking lot may be gravel and line-free, but there's plenty of space for everyone (bonus points for not having to parallel park). Stepping inside, I immediately thought, "Ooh, this is my vibe." It's cozy, inviting, and one of the owners made our drinks, talk about good treatment! At first, it was just a couple of wine drinkers, but then people started rolling in for a vision board event, and suddenly it was a full house of dreamers and brunch lovers. I went for the Fig sandwich (hold the meat) with chips. It was tasty, though there was a mysterious aftertaste; was it the brie? The apples? The suspense continues. I also tried the lavender wine cocktail, which was more "botanical" than "sweet treat." If you're into sugary drinks, maybe skip this one, but my friend's berry wine cocktail was a total winner. All in all, this place is a delight, and I'm already plotting my return to taste test more of the menu (for science, of course).

For food, I ordered the Berries & Cream waffles, which were loaded with fruit. They also have a small area to purchase wine bottles and Rejoicing Vine merch. While finishing up, we asked about what they were setting up and learned it was a vision board event, which Brent said they usually hold once a month. Overall, I really enjoyed my first visit and would love to come back in the summer. There are several picnic tables outside, perfect for enjoying a sunny day.

The bar is owned and locally operated by Ron Hopwood. Ron makes and bottles his own wines and bourbons. Most of the grapes are locally grown. I have passed by his bar for years because I was skeptical of Midwest wines until I had a bottle of his chardonnay at the local pizzeria. The chardonnay was so smooth and delicious, that I walked down the street to his tasting room. The cozy upscale bar is FILLED with Hopwood wines and bourbons. He offers tastings or you can buy a bottle or glass. and sit at one of his lovely tables and sip. He even sells charcuterie boards and dipping breads to pair with your wine. Awards for the wines cover a wall. Ron is most proud of winning the 2019 American Wine Societies award for best cabernet sauvignon. The wines are inexpensive and they offer special pricing to Club members. To be a member, one needs to commit to buying 2 bottles/month or 2 cases/year. Unfortunately, I did learn that Hopwood Cellars is closing its doors for good in June, so it was a good thing I came back to visit. Hopwood Cellars is one of the best wineries in Indiana that I have been to since living in Indianapolis. The owner is a great guy and very friendly and helpful to the customers. His staff is very knowledgeable on the wines, and the ambiance is beautiful. The Cabernet Sauvignon is my personal favorite wine. They also have a great Chardonnay as well. The winery does sell flights of wine so you can sample a few wines. The wine milkshakes are supposedly out of this world, so I would stop by before the end of June 2025 to try one, or else you will miss out on the opportunity. The bar area goes around the facility and is very nice. They have a wine sample card you can purchase to try a bunch of wines as well. The staff definitely knows what they are doing, and they are very professional on presenting the wines. I'm sad that Hopwood Cellars is closing this year because it was a good winery and one of my favorites in Indiana.
