I had been in the market for medical insurance through Covered CA but the cheapest one I could…read morefind, that also allowed me to go to the doctors I had been going to for years, was a bit expensive. I decided to look into other options and did a search for places I could pay out of pocket. When I lived in Mexico, I had been using the services at a local hospital, paying a monthly membership fee for their services so imagine my surprise when I found out that the exact same system existed here. That was when I found Dr. Marisse so I booked an appointment. I found her originally on Zocdoc and the nearest appointment was in a month and a half. Within a day of making the appointment, I was called by the office to Nurse Shawna who wanted to make sure that I knew that all appointments needed a preliminary chat with the Doc, after which I could book my appointment. thanked me for letting her know that the next available appointment was that far away. It turned out there was a mix-up and that she did have more immediate appointments available. There is plenty of parking, as it is in shared parking lot with other businesses. However, there are two buildings with the same building number but with different locale numbers. Upper Echelon is in the building nearest to the AAA and the Farmer Boys. At the appointment, everything was clearly explained and we went over a sort of plan of attack, with regards to my concerns and what I needed to do. I appreciated paying less per month for the membership, which includes as many appointments as you want. The lab work and the tests are at wholesale prices so even with the membership fee and registration, all of this was cheaper than the plan I was going to get with insurance. What I appreciated was the quickness of getting an appointment. I have always hated waiting a few weeks, as a new patient, before actually being seen but I was able to book this within a week of the appointment. It was a week because their availability interfered with my work hours. Otherwise, I would have been seen earlier. All in all, it is pretty convenient and a wallet-friendly option. After that first appointment and the lab results came in, Dr. Marisse wrote a VERY long email detailing every point of concern. Which I appreciated because I went for answers and I was getting them. If you need a straightforward person to tell you what you need to be doing and not someone who has to be on your ass every step of the way, this is the ideal option. I would say the ONLY con is that they do not have appointments during the weekends. And since I work during the week, I have to take time off to go to an appointment.

A special thank you to Shawna and Karla--they went above and beyond to provide outstanding care. They were incredibly kind, attentive, and took the time to answer all of my questions without making me feel rushed. Their professionalism, compassion, and positive attitudes truly made a difference and turned what could have been a stressful visit into a great experience. It's rare to find a medical office where you feel genuinely cared for, and Shawna and Karla exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend Upper Echelon Medical Office to anyone looking for quality care and exceptional customer service. Thank you both for making my visit such a positive one! Dr. Marisse is truly one of the best doctors I've ever had. She explains everything clearly, never makes you feel rushed, and always makes you feel like your health and well-being are her top priority. Her professionalism and caring attitude give me complete confidence in the care I receive. I highly recommend Dr. Marisse to anyone looking for an exceptional physician.

At first it was annoying to call the 1800 number to St. Jude's to book an appointment with the doctor. St Judes is not a small place. The lady on the phone had to take down all my information just to book an appointment and it took forever. She forgot to get my address and had to call me back too. At least when they called me to remind me of my appointment, it was from Dr. Kim's office. Another annoying thing was paid parking in the parking structure! argh! Is nothing free anymore?! I guess..it's a medical center. When I walked into Dr. Kim's office, it was huge. I think there's several other Dr's that work out of there. There was three separate receptionists and you had to wait for one to be free. It was a huge operation. I was afraid I was going to get lost in the system or I wasn't going to get personal attention. But the receptionist was super nice. I waited just a few moments before getting called to see the doctor. I only sat in the examine room a few minutes before he came in. Right on time! I have to say, I really liked Dr. Kim. I had a super extensive medical history and he waited so patiently listening to everything. He made really thoughtful suggestions and comments about my situation and never let me feel like I was crazy or a hypochondriac. When I asked for a blood test, that was when I knew I was right finding another primary doctor because he said I had to come back because I had already eaten. I was confused because my other doctor always just took the blood himself immediately..maybe I really don't have high cholesterol. Hmp!!! Overall, it was such a pleasant experience, which is quite opposite of what you should experience at a doctor's office. yay!

For 1 day only, they charged 936 dollars, before insurance charges. My insurance was able to pay about half the price, but still it's an unreasonable amount. They denied telling me the prices, and I found out at the end the prices after my check up, and it was crazy. Make sure to triple check all the charges prior to taking any treatment. The lady on front will most likely tell you that they don't know the costs, since they need to check with your insurance first, so make sure to ask how much everything costs prior to insurance covering. It is a ridiculous amount that no one should pay for.

The nurses at the front desk are nice and have always been nice it's just this doctor like I don't know if he knows what he's doing or if he just simply doesn't care about people and it's sad because most if not all doctors are just in it for the business and not in it to too really take your health seriously and help you find out the best treatment/cure for whatever health condition you have. I'm tired of hearing "your okay" or "you'll be fine" like I'm not okay my body doesn't feel fine I'm in pain, I'm sick and what are you doing about it?? NOTHING.
