I was stoked when I saw this charming little ice cream (+coffee) shop pop up in south city! Coffee-The coffee is great and Im pleased to have another option for coffee in that area. I'm a bit of a creature of habit when it comes to my coffee so I've only tried the cold brew and classic black coffee here. They were both delicious, bold, and reasonably priced. Ice cream- Now let's talk about the real star of the show. At the beginning of the year I signed up for the pint of the month club. I was blown away by the creative and delicious flavors they came up with! Each week the flavors just kept getting better and better. Even flavors that I initially thought I wouldn't like such as orange chocolate hazelnut and passionfruit caramel shortbread were surprisingly DELICIOUS! My favorite pint? It is honestly hard to pick because they are all so different and amazing in their own way, but if you're going to twist my arm....butterfinger deluxe made with homemade butterfinger. Those butterfingers were incredible. What I liked the most about the pint subscription was the surprise factor - it was exciting not knowing what flavor we would get each week ( until I received the email) and I got to try some delicious flavors i wouldn't have normally picked myself! Put your trust in the sugar witch staff and grab a subscription! They know what they are doing. ( pro tip-a subscription makes a good gift) Ice cream sandwiches- TBDBLFTI ( to be determined but looking forward to it). Sugar Witch is known for their ice cream sandwiches AKA"witches". I have not tried a witch YET, but I am looking forward to it( the pint club is 4 weeks long so it quest my sweet tooth satisfied for quiet a while.) Like the Pints, the witch's have some awesome unique flavor options. Service- I've been in the shop about 8 times between picking up pints and coffee. The staff is always welcoming and friendly. Finally tried Sugarwitch tonight and I totally understand the name because one bite of these delicious ice cream sandwiches have you saying, "this is magic!" I tried the banana taco, which is absolutely divine. I don't even like banana flavored things usually, it just looked so unique I had to try it. It's incredible, pure witch craft to make it taste this good. We also tried the brownie ice cream sandwich with vanilla sprinkle ice cream and the miso ice cream. The brownie sandwich is perfect. You know how sometimes the 'sandwich' component can be too hard? Well these brownies are somehow perfectly dense enough to keep it together but soft enough so you aren't struggling to take a bite. The miso ice cream might be the best flavor ice cream I have ever had. It's ridiculous. So good I bought an entire pint and it probably won't last the week. Be warned that once you go here you may find that no other ice cream is good enough. If you try one thing- that banana taco is unreal. Buy extra, wear stretchy pants, go now! read more

I've hat Sugarwitch ice cream sandwiches at events but this was my first visit to the store. They have such a variety! I couldn't resist the Matcha Oreo Waffle Taco, and it was delicious! The shop is small, but they have some picnic tables on the side of their building that were shaded during the afternoon heat, so we could sit and enjoy our treats. Stopped at Sugarwitch on a Sunday afternoon while out and about. The Air-stream is super cute. I had a little difficulty making a decision on which ice cream sandwich I wanted. I went with the Ursula (Vanilla ice cream + rainbow sprinkles + salty brownie) since that seems to be their most popular / introductory flavor. Imagine that basic ice cream sandwich you've eaten every summer of your life but multiply it by ten and that's how good this was. Premium ice cream, the rainbow sprinkles, and a crisp salty brownie instead of a mushy cookie that's been absorbing moisture for months. SO GOOD! For extra decadence, go with a sandwich that has thin/pressed brownies for the cookie. I accidentally showed up to AO&Co a well easily got a Yelp event, and wasn't going to miss the opportunity to eat ice cream while I was there. The Italian wedding inspired cookie was insanely delicious. A thin layer of dark chocolate (my favorite!) sandwiched two almond cake-like cookies filled with a delicious almond ice cream. Thin layers of raspberry preserves separated the ice cream from the cookies. This seems like it would be difficult to execute, but everything about it was divine. The cookies and ice cream weren't overly rich, so the sandwich wasn't cloyingly sweet, but was perfectly balanced. Likewise, every flavor was in such wonderful proportion, with no one aspect of the treat overwhelming the other. I'm amazed, impressed, and can't wait to come back for more next week! read more

What a wonderful and unique shop! I love that they focus on ice cream sandwich combinations of complementary ice cream/cookie flavors (all creatively named after famous "witches" of literary or mythical fame) as opposed to just scoops. They do offer Queen cones, coffees, soft drinks and specialty "Choco tacos", as well. Classic vanillas and chocolate fudge, plus cool flavors like rose, lavender, gingerbread, cereal milk, etc. All are handmade and look fantastic: some are dairy free/vegan as well. The menus are seasonal and sell out quickly, so if you see a favorite combo you better go get it while you can. There are core staples of "sandwitch" classics like Tonks, a mouthwatering peanut butter/choc/pretzel concoction, as well as several monthly special 'witches. The interior is adorable 1930's ice cream parlor charm and the building is housed in the historic Carondolet bakery building. I also fully support that they are a Queer women owned and operated business!! Everything about this business is fabulous and our coffees and ice cream sandwiches (arghhh, I can't remember what our flavors were called) were scrumptious. The worst thing about handmade ice cream sandwiches is that the cookies smash together and the ice cream comes out the side - Sugarwitch has solved this problem entirely! What makes Sugarwitch so good is that not only the ice cream is very good, the outer cookie layer is also just as good, soft and moist to complement to cold and creamy ice cream. This is the sweetest (pun fully intended) ice cream shop ever. My boyfriend and I decided to stop by today and I was really worried about accessibility because he has a huge wheelchair. Everyone at Sugarwitch was super friendly and they even set up a ramp for us! I about cried. Not to mention the ice cream sandwich was incredible. This is a hidden gem for sure. Upon entering the staff was so kind and patient while we ordered. They've got a unique range of flavors of ice cream sandwiches, cones, bon bons, and even drinks. We got the matcha drink, the sesame drink, and the Circe ice cream sandwich. The coffee was very strong, and my sister didn't care for it (she doesn't like strong coffee normally) and the staff was so eager to get her something she wanted instead! It was definitely delicious, but egregiously expensive. There is NO reason at all why a 2x2 inch ice cream sandwich and a choco taco should be $20. And then they flipped the ipad over and asked for a tip?!! The ice cream and flavours of the ice cream sandwich (it was two blondies with chocolate ice cream in the middle) were good, but it was also hard as a rock and hurt my mouth to bite.
