A review that's outside of my comfort zone due to its intimate setting but here we go!…read more My first visit at Sugaring NYC- Memphis was last summer of June but yesterday made my seventh visit. Prior to my first visit, I received conventional waxing services but not sugar waxing. I have heard of the term without the knowledge of the full benefits. That's until a Soror, who's the owner of the Memphis and soon to be Midtown location explained thoroughly. Which encouraged me to give it a try. In short term it's like comparing fruits and vegetables to organic verse none organic. Sugaring is applied to the body temperature minimizing discomfort, still treats discoloration, the clean up is effortless with water and eliminates the usage of tongue depressors. *That's if you're a zero waste savvy.*. Unlike conventional wax is composed of rubber resins and other potentially harmful chemicals. All of my six visits were serviced by Danielle, loved her! Unfortunately she's no longer working at the franchise in efforts of receiving her degree. Which I salute and applaud her because school isn't for the weak! My last two recent visits were serviced by Sarah. Professional, personable and comforting through her words of encouragement. I'm elaborating the word "comforting " because if you're a first time wax (conventional or sugaring) client it could be misleading as everyone's tolerance level towards pain varies. I can say the more consistence the better for the benefits of less pain, becoming more comfortable with the process including your waxer and the swift of hair removal. This location is always promoting special offers on the website or the chalkboard as you walk into the studio. Sugaring NYC's motto "Once you try Sugaring, you will never go back to waxing" is one of the truest statements I can vouch for.

To be clear, this is not a review of the service. I HIGHLY recommend Tiana at the Union Ave…read morelocation. She is the best. This is a review of the business, both corporate and Memphis franchise ownership. I signed up for S Pass and didn't use it as much as I thought I would, ending up with over $300 in credit for services. I asked the manager if it would be possible to pause membership and still use my credit before resuming. She told me that she could remove my payment method from the account, the membership would still be active, I could use my credit, and add a payment method back later on. Perfect. Except that not only did this suspend my membership, and so did not work the way it was explained to me, in the intervening month the entire program was discontinued. Corporate headquarters informed me that (though when signing up for the Pass there was no indication that I was entering a contract with anyone other than the corporate entity), they took no responsibility for this or the fact that there was NO NOTIFICATION of the termination of the program sent to members. They flatly refused any assistance and told me it was the Memphis franchisee's responsibility to resolve the issue. I called the manager again. She returned my call saying that I could at least begin paying the monthly fee again and not be out the over $300 that I had lost. I went into the store to do so and had booked a service as well. When I arrived, I was informed that I could not, in fact, do this. I was provided a free service that day (the manager, to be fair, was as helpful as I think she was able to be at this point), but am still out a fair amount of money. I hate that I cannot continue to visit Tiana for service - again, she is fantastic - but I cannot give business to an establishment that wouldn't even offer to split the difference on a gift card to keep a loyal customer.

This was my first time seeking a wax in Memphis and I'm glad that I stumbled across this place. When I walked in I was greeted with a warm welcome from the receptionist. Brittany did my wax! She allowed me to express my concerns and she kept the conversation flowing. They don't use waxing strips and it was the most painless Brazilian I have had thus far. It's so smooth and the skin is soft; no remnant wax. Will be returning in 4 weeks!

I recently tried the new sugaring service and it was a mostly cool experience, it's a different "sensation" than hard waxing in my opinion. It wasn't too too bad until the labia and butt strip. LOL Anyway, I'd gone 2 months without a wax so I feel like that made it worse than if I'd stayed on schedule and had less hair. My servicer was super nice, personable, offered aftercare tips!

A young lady by the name of Laquita handled my wax and was very professional and personable. We held a conversation throughout the process, which helped with the pain of waxing. The waxing process only took 15 minutes. I'd highly recommend this salon for your waxing needs if you are in the Cordova area.

I love the space! The Medical Asthetics and Hair Spa are in separate buildings and I have only been into the hair salon part of the business. It is located in a renovated older building and it is in keeping with the feel of midtown. They are very accommodating with tea, coffee and other drinks in the waiting area. The best part is that I have never had to wait! They do have less open hours (better quality of life for those who work there) than a lot of the salons that I have been to so just keep that in mind and plan in advance for your hair care day.

I recently moved to Memphis and scheduled a 30 min consult and a chemical peel for 1pm. Got there…read more10 min early. Walked into the spa and was told I didn't have an appointment. After a few minutes of looking at their schedule the lady at the hair studio said maybe it's at the medical spa. Why yes, that's where I scheduled my services. But as a first time customer had no idea there were 2 separate buildings and entrances. So I walk over, fill out my paperwork and sit down to be called. At 1:10pm the receptionist (who was sweet the entire time and had no control of what's happening) informs me that the aesthetician will be a "few" min late. I ask "A few as in 5?" And she replies "As in about 10min". 30 minutes later I'm still sitting there with no update and getting antsy... as a customer who's had facials and skincare services done all across the country (NYC, LA, SF, Portland, Atlanta) and the globe, I had to get up and leave as this was not acceptable by my standards and clearly bad business. I don't want to tell them how to run their business and do hope they have a lot of repeat clientele, but from my experience it didn't seem they cared about getting new repeat clients if they couldn't have the common courtesy to start on time. 10, 15 min I can understand, but 30 is not acceptable in my mind. I wanted to love this place and make it my go-to for all my skin care needs but unfortunately I will need to find another spot.

I think it is RIDICULOUS to not honor this gift card! I won't recommend this spa to anyone. Their employees are not friendly and the management is TERRIBLE! They didn't have a problem taking my cash for the card- but can't honor it now? THIS IS THEFT! They stole $75 from me and I will be reporting them to the BBB & leaving negative reviews on every platform until my gift card is honored. PLEASE DO NOT GET SCAMMED FROM SPA COLLIERVILLE LIKE I DID. Do not purchase gift cards or ANY services from Spa Collierville! They will not honor gift cards and make up that they have expiration dates. SCAMMERS! THIEVES!! LIARS!! UPDATE: Company responded with a false allegations that I was disruptive in their clinic- but when asked for video evidence they could not prove it. Be careful because I would win in a civil suit . make sure you stay the facts and not more lies and BS . You still have time to make it right and I will correct my reviews and revise my complaint. I just want products what my card was purchased for. You obviously can't refund my credit card because it is expired. That was foolish to offer since we both know that can't be done.
