To be clear, this is not a review of the service. I HIGHLY recommend Tiana at the Union Ave…read morelocation. She is the best. This is a review of the business, both corporate and Memphis franchise ownership. I signed up for S Pass and didn't use it as much as I thought I would, ending up with over $300 in credit for services. I asked the manager if it would be possible to pause membership and still use my credit before resuming. She told me that she could remove my payment method from the account, the membership would still be active, I could use my credit, and add a payment method back later on. Perfect. Except that not only did this suspend my membership, and so did not work the way it was explained to me, in the intervening month the entire program was discontinued. Corporate headquarters informed me that (though when signing up for the Pass there was no indication that I was entering a contract with anyone other than the corporate entity), they took no responsibility for this or the fact that there was NO NOTIFICATION of the termination of the program sent to members. They flatly refused any assistance and told me it was the Memphis franchisee's responsibility to resolve the issue. I called the manager again. She returned my call saying that I could at least begin paying the monthly fee again and not be out the over $300 that I had lost. I went into the store to do so and had booked a service as well. When I arrived, I was informed that I could not, in fact, do this. I was provided a free service that day (the manager, to be fair, was as helpful as I think she was able to be at this point), but am still out a fair amount of money. I hate that I cannot continue to visit Tiana for service - again, she is fantastic - but I cannot give business to an establishment that wouldn't even offer to split the difference on a gift card to keep a loyal customer.

A review that's outside of my comfort zone due to its intimate setting but here we go!…read more My first visit at Sugaring NYC- Memphis was last summer of June but yesterday made my seventh visit. Prior to my first visit, I received conventional waxing services but not sugar waxing. I have heard of the term without the knowledge of the full benefits. That's until a Soror, who's the owner of the Memphis and soon to be Midtown location explained thoroughly. Which encouraged me to give it a try. In short term it's like comparing fruits and vegetables to organic verse none organic. Sugaring is applied to the body temperature minimizing discomfort, still treats discoloration, the clean up is effortless with water and eliminates the usage of tongue depressors. *That's if you're a zero waste savvy.*. Unlike conventional wax is composed of rubber resins and other potentially harmful chemicals. All of my six visits were serviced by Danielle, loved her! Unfortunately she's no longer working at the franchise in efforts of receiving her degree. Which I salute and applaud her because school isn't for the weak! My last two recent visits were serviced by Sarah. Professional, personable and comforting through her words of encouragement. I'm elaborating the word "comforting " because if you're a first time wax (conventional or sugaring) client it could be misleading as everyone's tolerance level towards pain varies. I can say the more consistence the better for the benefits of less pain, becoming more comfortable with the process including your waxer and the swift of hair removal. This location is always promoting special offers on the website or the chalkboard as you walk into the studio. Sugaring NYC's motto "Once you try Sugaring, you will never go back to waxing" is one of the truest statements I can vouch for.

That's not how I went in there. I called several times to speak with Daisy. They kept pushing me off so I came back up here. When I got here the original threader said she didn't see a problem and to keep my cool I simply asked someone else look at them. Daisy then comes and now I feel worse off than when I arrived, both times. There's still a pluck in my brow and now they look like two different eyebrows. I stopped coming to this place a long time ago because I feel they fell off and stopped caring about the service. Now I'm back to hunting for another threader because I keep running into my brows being chopped up. I posted pictures of my brows after the visit before this one and they now look nothing like that after I've taken the time to grow them and have them corrected. I'm pissed to say the least. Definitely won't be back.

The girl rushed through (polish started chipping in a week, as a result) and talked about her very colorful personal life to a coworker the whole time--I didn't want her to talk to me, but gossiping isn't favorable. The experience with the pedicure was AAAAHMAZING, however. Peter was outstanding. I got the deluxe pedicure and it was (truly) the best pedicure of my life. I told him about the bad mani experience and he called over a manager. They asked me to try the manicure again, and I said I would. Overall, it's a great new spot, just think I got the wrong tech on my first go. Definitely coming back!

My time at this nail salon was probably my worst ever. I came in on 6/18/2026 for a pedicure…read more Because I asked for a classic pedicure (the cheapest one), they immediately treated me like less than. I wanted to try French tips on my toes for the first time and asked the tech, Thomas, for advice since he has the experience. He asked to cut my nails "a little" and proceeded to chop off a massive amount. When I asked him to add acrylic to elongate the big toe so the French would look right, and to do the same to my short pinky toe, he refused the pinky and kept the big toe the exact same short length. Thomas completely rushed through the service--he barely scraped, used zero lotion, and the acrylic didn't even make sense. To top it off, the way he told me the price felt like he was insinuating I couldn't afford it. The way he spoke to me was more dehumanizing than anything. I explained all of this to the male manager and agreed to stay to let a tech named Emma fix it, which I appreciated. However, the nightmare continued the next day when I came back to get a full set. Even though they knew I was upset, they assigned me the exact same guy, Thomas, to do my full set. They gave me $20 off to make up for his terrible service the day before, but the overall energy here is just garbage. Thomas is incredibly unpleasant. He rushes, and when you express that you don't like something, he gaslights you and talks to you like you're crazy. I told Thomas and the female manager that my nail shape looked odd, like they were standing up. Instead of trying to find a fix, they shrugged it off and said, "Well, it looks normal to me." I am the one spending my money and the one who has to wear them, but my feelings didn't matter at all. When I pointed it out, Thomas literally snapped at me, saying, "You can't see that it's flat on your nail? You can't see that well?" It is completely rushed--they just want to do it and get you out. To make matters worse, I decided to get a color change on my toes today because I ultimately hated the French tips after yesterday. They charged me $30 for a polish change. Their menu explicitly states a polish change is $18. Charging me $30 after I just left their salon crying and upset the day before is absolutely crazy. The work itself can look fine, but they treat you like crap. You go to a salon to relax. You cannot relax when people are ignoring you, gaslighting you when you say you don't like something, and making you feel like you can't voice your opinion because nobody is going to listen. I work hard for my money and I don't have a ton of it to throw away. Having to spend my money on something I don't even like is not cool. I will never return.
