I consider myself pretty fair-skinned, so I get nervous about tanning and turning orange and splotchy, or just looking like I have an unnatural tan. This was my first experience with airbrush tanning as well as with Bronzed Airbrush Tanning, the company, so my perspective is that of a true novice. I was getting married in a few weeks and my sisters insisted that I needed to get airbrushed. I was pretty nervous about the idea, but figured a trial wouldn't hurt. I met Rachel and she explained everything to me in detail. She truly wanted me to feel comfortable and educated about the process and how to get the most out of the tan. The trial tan was great, but for my wedding I realized I didn't want to look like I was tan, rather I wanted to look like I had a glow and wasn't pastey white from the winter. Rachel and I discussed, down to the specific body part, what kind of look I was going for and it turned out amazing. She sprayed some areas more or less than others based on my feedback and everyone thought it was perfectly natural, which is no small feat considering how naturally translucent my skin really is. I have been to Brozed twice now (1 time was even free!!) and it has consistently been the best airbush tanning experience and result I have ever had! In the past I have found that I look orange and unnatural when I get a spray tan-this was NOT the case at Brozed. They listened to my concerns and we discussed how to avoid those results. Each time I had a differnet person spray me, but like I said they are extremely consistent. The girls are professional and made me feel comfortable in a potentially very awkward situation. First thing's first- the location is perfect! Bronzed is right near plenty of shops and bars, so the convenience of stopping in for a quick tan after a day in the city is quite ideal. Once inside, the decor is welcoming and stylish. They incorporated "salon chique" with a living room feel that enables guests to willingly wait, if they ever even have to. The owner and employees are all a bundle of fun to be around, and they each have their own quirky style (which is an added benefit- I love that they don't have to dress in uniform). I have never felt uncomfortable being tanned by any of the girls working there and the color has always turned out perfect. Updating my review from two years ago! Bronzed is still my go-to "spray" place. I've been in a bind twice when I've been out of town and I've been hand sprayed once and mystic tanned another time (see: MESS - I'm not even tall enough for the machine. my hair got more of a tan than my body) and nothing compares to the service or cleanliness of Bronzed. First off, at check-in they already have in their system what "level" of bronzed you were sprayed at your last visit so it's super easy to reference how dark you want to be sprayed. Sometimes it's easy to walk in and request "as dark as possible immediately" when you're coming in completely pale and panicked because you have a wedding to go to in 2 days and can't risk being anything but "super glowing" - after being talked off the "as possible" ledge, I settled on the level that I was last sprayed at and it turned out perfect. The employees here make everyone feel so comfortable no matter what your body type is. They keep conversation light and fun and always have an easy way of moving through what could be an awkward session with ease and friendliness. Important to note: - Every employee who has sprayed me has always been very clear with pre and post spray instructions (where to lotion, how long before I shower, etc.) - this helps my tan last for a week+ and I love a good reminder every time I come. - My tan is ALWAYS even. - The space is SO CLEAN. I can't reiterate this enough. If I could review Bronzed with emojis my sequence would be: purple heart, confetti cannon, thumbs up, panda, closed eyes smiley face PS: The tan extender is totally worth it and smells amazing. read more

I am completely new to spray tan, and decided to give it a try prior to my June wedding. All of the five star ratings this place has already received are entirely accurate. Everyone on staff was really friendly and helpful and patiently answered all of my questions. My tan looks great and natural! For reference, I got the Express Tan and only waited about 90 minutes before washing (not recommended), but I still love the results! No orange, no streaks. Can't wait to go back! read more

Like a lot of the reviewers already mentioned, I too was very nervous about getting a spray tan for fear of looking super fake or streaky. The girls at Bronzed were great walking me through my first time (and you get a 2nd tan for free!) so that I knew exactly what I was getting and what to expect. It definitely takes a few tans to get the hang of how long to wait to shower and how to put the lotion on to make sure your feet and hands aren't too dark, but now that I've got that down, the results have been great! The salon itself is very nice, clean and cozy. All the staff members are friendly and knowledgeable and make you feel comfortable (or as comfy as you can feel when someone is airbrushing your naked body!) Love this place!!! So clean and I've never had to wait and ALWAYS get an appointment the day I need one. The girls are so friendly and professional. Whenever I go in I seem to be the only customer there and when I go back to get sprayed, the girl locks the front door so no one can come in. Totally safe. I've never had trouble finding street parking either and I'm only in there for maybe 10 min. The color comes out AMAZING and very natural looking. After trying several tanning salons and being disappointed with either the service, quality, or both, I was lucky to find Bronzed. The entire experience is fabulous, from start to finish. The waiting area is cheerful and well-decorated. Each time that I have gone, I have not had to wait more than a few minutes for my appointment. Furthermore, while getting a spray tan is a potentially uncomfortable situation, all of the staff are always great at making me feel at ease. I have been tanned by many different staff members and they all make me feel at ease, which is super important during a spray tan. When looking for ethical means of hair removal, sugaring is where it's at. Having minimal waste and using natural products like tea tree and coconut oil, Sugar+Bronzed are fabulously eco-friendly and thoughtful. Also, I have THE MOST sensitive skin. Razors destroyed me. Waxing scared me as previous experiences with waxing my eyebrows left me covered in acne. I have had zero issues with sugaring. I do struggle with in-growns, and is in no way related to the level of performance of the workers. The staff answered ALL of my questions, and I've never felt judged or shamed. This is probably in my head, but I often don't see people who dress like me (androgynously) in places like this. I always feel welcomed regardless of the various levels of femininity. This was my first airbrush tan experience and I can understand why people get addicted! I was so impressed with Bronzed. Every single employee I encountered was so sweet and seemed happy to be there. The receptionist gave me a really warm welcome and answered a few of my questions. I was a little nervous and she helped to calm my nerves. After talking to my technician (Rachel?? I'm horrible with names!) I felt so comfortable and ready to go. We talked about my desired look and why I was in to get a tan. I was essentially doing a trial run for my wedding since I was having my bridal shower/girls weekend. I ended up doing the Express Tan which was exactly as described. I followed the directions and I still have a pretty good tan a few days later. I did feel like my face looked a little dark so I exfoliated a little before my bridal shower and it brought it to my exact bronzed goal. Confession: I was terrified to get my first spray tan. I'm about as pale as they come, so of course I had nightmares about ending up orange (I'm sure all my pastey sistas out there can relate). From the moment I walked into Bronzed, the girl who was helping me made me feel at ease (I believe her name was Katie). She answered my billion questions, helped me choose between the express and the standard tan, reassured me that there was in fact a custom shade light enough for me and explained exactly what to do before and after. The room itself was very clean and they have disposable items (thongs, hair ties, flip flops) available for a dollar to make the process a little easier. Sidenote: the thong is cut weird so if you don't want a weird tan line maybe bring your own. She sprayed my pale, naked bod with skill and ease, making pleasant conversation all the while. 20 minutes later, I plodded my slightly sticky self back out into the world and began the countdown til shower time. Since I chose the express tan, I showered about 2 hours after my appointment, and my tan continued to develop for several hours after. I flew to Mexico the next morning and was doing a lot of swimming/hot tubbing/sweating, so the tan didn't last very long (3-4 days), but I knew to expect that so I wasn't disappointed. The color, while it lasted, was perfect; not fake looking, not patchy or streaky, just right. If you're hesitating at all, I'd say just do it. 50 bucks was a small price to pay to feel like a golden goddess for once in my life! read more

I am a proud wearer of my moonlight skin, but I had to get an unnatural looking tan for a role I was playing in an opera. After my first tan I looked way too natural so I used my second free tan to go over board with the bronze. The good news: I look dark, and healthy. The bad news: this tan is far from unnatural. I am terrified of the negative repercussions that arise from tanning bed use and sun exposure. Thus, I thought I would embrace the transparent paleness of my skin for life. I've been here twice now for a spray tan, and I have been very pleased both times! I went with the Express Tan which allows you to shower 1-4 hours after the tan (depending on how tan you want to be). It was $10 more than the Standard but definitely worth not having the wait the normal 10-12 hours to shower. The staff were SO polite and friendly which I appreciated considering I was being sprayed down in my underwear my a stranger. You can tell that they are all trained well, and they really normalize the process for you. They also offer a free tan after your first one, and you get discounts for referring others. So the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, 11/25, I start feeling my winter pale. I happen to walk down walnut and yelp options to get toasty. Bronzed pops right up. I walk in highly excited for a new experience as I've tanned in beds before but never spray tanned. The young lady at the desk is a sweet heart. She explains its super busy and I understand there may be a wait as I am a walk in so I offer to go across the street and entertain myself during the wait. She tells me she can squeeze me in for a 12:00pm appointment and to hold tight as the wait won't take long. I speak with her about packages and memberships and options. It is currently 11:45. 12:30 I'm still waiting. 12:40 Guy walks in and says to friendly receptionist, "(Random girl name) is freakin out because you haven't answered your text." Little blond receptionist, "Oh, I've been busy!" Proceeds to answer text. Guy: I told her it won't take long, it's just my face. Receptionist: Oh, totally, it will be like five minutes. They proceed to walk to the back. The receptionist notices me getting up, "I'm gonna squeeze him in really quick. He's in a rush. I'll take you and prep you as soon as he leaves. !0 more minutes." Guy: You can go ahead of me, sorry. Me: "No I'm ok thanks." 12:50 I walk out thinking you should hire the guy who walked in because he's more considerate of time and your guest. This place is truly the best so organized and helpful. I love how long the sugaring lasts you can go almost up to about 6 weeks. I am so in love with their spray tanning it holds up well and looks so natural. It did not come off on any of my clothes or sheets. I'm amazed at how natural all the products are as far as sugar lemon and water for sugaring and they brew their own tanning solutions. You can't beat the pricing and membership deals.
