I was looking for something super Vermonty when visiting from out of town and Sugar Shack did not disappoint. I stopped by around 11 am on a Friday and my husband and I were the only customers. They had samples of different maple syrup's to try which was nice. We got lots of maple goodies including amber syrup, maple candy, maple butter, maple coffee beans and a maple ice cream milk shake. Yum! Will plan our next visit for when we can watch them make the syrup. Also, pleasantly surprised to walk through the Norman Rockwell exhibit in the store. So random but idealistic!

I was just driving around and came across this little place. It's a sugar shack, they have a lot of maple syrup for sale and such. But also, there's a Norman Rockwell exhibit. Very random but I liked it! And of course I had to get a creemee and it was so good!

We had to try a maple creemee while in Vermont and this was the spot we picked. My husband and I shared a Maple Creemee and Apple Cider Donut Sammie and a Maple Frosted Cookie. The cookie was nothing special, but the maple creemee/apple cider donut concoction was delicious. We also bought some cheese and other maple goods while we were there that we enjoyed. If you're driving by, I'd definitely recommend stopping here for a maple creemee and apple cider donut!

Wonderful little business in Arlington Vermont. Reasonably priced items of great quality. Pretty much the Vermont maple syrup experience in one destination! The Norman Rockwell exhibit is not to be missed. Also the creamy with a cider donut/-Just heavenly!!

I'm so glad we stopped here. I knew we were going to try the Cold Hollow legendary Apple cider donuts so I wanted to compare it to something. They sold the apple cider and maple donuts in pairs so we tried it. My husband liked the maple and I liked the apple cider. It wasn't a cake donut. Just regular donut. I also bought several flavors of maple syrup and Norman Rockwell artwork (copies). I also learned how short the maple harvest season is and how little amount of maple comes from one tree. It should cost more in stores.

On a hot August day in our trip in the Arlington/Manchester area, this is such a gratifying stop. A nice store with a good collection of maple syrups or all kinds including their own (relatively better priced too). Try the maple creamee/soft ice cream.... imho theirs just taste much better than any other ones in Southern VT. Friendly service, and you're always welcome to peruse the respectably sized Norman Rockwell collection (with plenty of description of each artwork, including the who's who in the Arlington area lucky enough to be picked by the master as models in his paintings).

This is a must stop In Vermont. Excellent selection of Vermont products, food items and souvenirs. Take a look.... Plus the adjacent Norman Rockwell exhibit is a treat with recollections from many local townfolk who posed as models. Michelle, is just one of the staff members, who treat you exceptionally well.

Wow! We were just there and had their CIDER SAMMICH and it was incredible! The sweet and silky maple cream was the ideal compliment to the soft, freshly made donut with its perfect amount of sugar. The samples of syrups, cheeses, jams and chutneys are a great touch for the guest to engage in the store's purpose. If you are anywhere in the area, you would be selling yourself short not to visit. The Norman Rockwell exhibit and large souvenir selection in addition to the warm, friendly staff made our experience unforgettable.

Some friends told us we should stop at the Sugar Shack when we are in that part of Vermont. They were right and we didn't eat anything. They have an amazing collection of Norman Rockwell pictures and art. This is in the town where he lived for a number of years and the pictures and stories are priceless. You must take a few minutes at this place if you are in the area.

A fun stop, where you can see a pretty sizable Norman Rockwell exhibit as well as pick up some sweets and maple syrup.

Absolutely lucked into this place while visiting our daughter at a nearby college. We were headed…read moreto the donut shop next door and saw the sign for the cheese shop. (Certainly a lucky neighborhood) It looks small from the street but once you walk in, it opens up to a sizable store. We were greeted by a friendly staff member, he took the time to describe their cheese selection and the other things going on in the shop. He then pivoted to giving us tons of help selecting the right cheese. We sampled a couple of things and then he dialed in three choices for us to buy. (With an assist from another customer that insisted that we would love the Delice de Bourgogne) Prices were reasonable enough for the quality. We added some gourmet crackers that were neutral enough to not overpower the cheese. The next day, we made the three cheeses the focus of our lunch. The Delice de Bourgogne was the star of the show, a creamy, earthy, and savory masterpiece. The two year aged Gouda and creamy blue cheese were delightful as well! Truly glad that we walked into The Cheese Traveler!

We appreciated the relatively local (Quebec, VT, NY) cheeses they have, and our destination cheese, Wisconsin Brick (which we had never tried before, and which they were quite willing to work with us on getting the appropriate size). The sandwiches looked delicious but we were there at the wrong time of day, alas, but we will 100% be back. If you like cheese, this is a destination location for the region.

The sweetest souls work here and the animal feeding area/petting zoo is incredible! When you arrive at Taylor Farms, you step into the cute little country store stationed at the beginning of the farm. The store is stocked with farm products like yummy cheeses and icecreams but also food and home products from local businesses like soaps, etc. My daughter picked out a scoop of her favorite VT icecream, maple walnut and wandered the store. I stumbled upon the "feed our animals" station near the store exit. You can buy the farm animals food and feed them yourself! The store associate welcomed us to go see the animals even if we didn't buy any food for them. You could tell she really loved them. We bought a variety pack for the animals which consisted of carrots, an apple, a bag of homemade cheeseits, and chicken feed (corn meal?). My daughter had a ball feeding the donkey, cows, chickens and cat! We had a ball watching her experience new things and support a local farm! We hope to come back someday soon!

Last weekend I had a feeling they would be at a different food expo. I was willing to go buy tickets to enter the expo just to see if they were there. Fortunately my hunch was right. They were there I ran over to them like we were old friends. Even gave me a hug. I knew I had to stock up on the spreads but the only lady I open for 3 months and 3 weeks once open. The 8oz pack is $8 and worth every penny. I settled on 2 -Maple Cheddars. This down come off sweet from the syrup but the flavor is addictive. I have some as a snack at night. I also bought 1 -Great Garlic Parm. The most kick you in the face with flavor. It's really potent and I find works best spread on good warmed Braided semolina Bread. Best thing to serve with your pasta dinner. This is a small family business who love their product and they should it's a great one. There are shipping fees obviously. They go higher in the summer since they need to keep it cold and costs more. I will be a customer for years to come.
